I saw you said down below that you just rewrote the gauges so you can just jump in fly..... Would it be possible to get a copy of your gauges/panel so i can do the same? I'm tired of it dying on me all the time, and I just wanna enjoy this great airplane...Thanks!
Do you know if the designer of this awsome aircraft has any more completed work? The level of detail and realism is far better then most and would love to fly more, this was the first plane that i actuly had to read the manule to learn how to fly it,thats rare in freeware aircraft.truely is a masters aircraft.
I downloaded it but there are many problems with it. I can't use the gear lever and the flaps lever properly. When I use them, the lever come in his initial position.
I read we have to double the pixel size and I did it but it doesn't work. Do I have to make it for all VC sections in panel.cfg ?
Yes there are a few problems with it. wherever you see pixel_size= in the panel cfg double it (there are seven sections) You have to read the OPS manual thoroughly to fly this aircraft successfully.
I actually got so tired of my engine cutting out I rewrote all of the gauges so now I just jump in and fly! lol
I take it that the voice heard in ATC transmissions is yours? Is that for post-production effect, or do you use VoxATC / VATSIM? I noticed it in your other videos to, it really adds to the ambiance.
hi ed could u tell me what have u done for ure camera to do that i ahve the payware active camera but it does not move as if u r breathing like yours very nice video
I have two Yak 18T's in my hangar...one with one without. Actually I found the original model's oversized instruments more of a crime. My VC has realistically sized instruments.
yeah, i noticed that your vc looks much more realistic, are you using freeware gps? and how did you manage to get correct sizes and positions to those gauges? :)
The texture for the VC is in the aircraft's texture folder. I d/l lot's of Yak-18T cockpit photos off anet....made a template from the pics and so was able to get the correct positions and sizes for the instruments. I edited the VC texture to suit.
The GPS is the superb payware by Reality-XP...their GNS's are as close as you will get to the real Garmins (use real manuals to operate them)
Nice change of pace, Ed, and a pretty offbeat plane to fly GA in! I also prefer VC's for GA flying and 2D panels for airliners, given the innate differences between the two types of flying. There's an airshow act in NA that flies a Yak 18T and Yak 55 together, which is really great to see. The 18T is a lot more nimble than it looks.
I have ultimate terrain X which is recommended for scenery, every minor and major road (bends too) is simulated together with AI road traffic in europe. I rarely fly VFR (since I prefer to fly following the RMI/CDI). So VFR scenery is useless when IFR is my preferred method of flying. My PC is troublesome and has been for a while, so unfortunatly I'm unable to brush up my NDB arc into belfast city which I hope to be flying soon.
I used to fly in the VC, but due to performance issues, and the constant need to keep moving my eye point during take off to proceed with checklists etc, i resorted to the 2D view.Much better too. I am looking to adding a new panel bitmap to my PMDG 747. Is the panel customisable mate?
Hey Ed, awsome video as usual! Would you mind adding me as a friend temporarily please? i would like to send you a message if you don't mind. Thanks. 5/5
Very nice little Yak...They still use it un Cuba in the flight schools...The Stick-and-Rudder experience in this plane can be challenging at some point...That I have heard in Cuba..
Not at all. lol I bought Track IR mainly for my external views. VC's and Track IR work very well for GA aircraft IMHO. But I prefer 2D views for airliners.
Great vid, Ed. Where did you get some of those great GA AI and the flightplans?

That may be possible....let work on the panel some more.
I want to make an original config w/o the expensive refit.

The level of realism is also rare in payware aircraft IMHO. Best place to search would be avsim(dot)ru.
The Ruskies make a lot of really high quality freeware/payware.

nice. i think you will make better videos in the future, with the trackir. how many screens do u got? is it not diffecult when only 1 screen? :)
Mathiiiiiaas 2 years ago
I only have one screen. My new rig should help to make smoother videos.....I don't this Track IR will feature so much as I usually fly 2D panels.
My videos are more about recording my flights than slick video production.

When you use comercial russian planes, like TU-154 or YAK.-42, Do you use the russian navigation system or do you flight IFR?
If you use russian navigation system, can you tell me where do you find a manual for use it?
Thank you.

I always fly the Tu-154 and Yak-42 IFR but use the KLN90B for navigation.

Does the TrackIR 5 spell the end to your custom panels, mate?
Qantas25 2 years ago
Far from it mate. The VC and Track IR is/was a fun distraction from the serious art of flying airliners IFR.
