well that's the way it is in my country and in some other european coutries. there is no HomeDepot. or Lowes. You got to know almost everybody in order to know what to get where and were to find better deal!
No yellow pages either, it the ultimate scavenger hunt. I renovated home in Ukraeine so now know where to find all I need it local knowledge. Sheetrock was biggest thing to find. My cousins husband found a business that imports from Poland. That was thru asking people it how it all works in Ukraine
