  • is it heavy enough to cast

  • Sweet video.

  • are you using a zebco 33? lol damn havent seen that in years

  • When they hit it just reel in the slack before you set the hook. Never jerk it just because you see a blow up always make sure they have it in their mouth.

  • you hit it to hard the first time!!

  • @jaroschreuder1996 thanks cap'n.

  • it's fun to fish for monsters like these, it's like your just sitting there and reeling in and then it jumps out and swallows it. most of all the smile on your face after catching one of these monsters is priceless, I still have yet to catch one, but I've seen my friends catch them, it truely is the catch of a life time

  • Went to my fishing spot the other day and i could see pike topwater feeding on bugs and stuff but they just didn't seem to want and hit the topwater ?

  • this guy is NOT going to fast. have any of you seen a pike swim? they are fast as hell. they wont have any problems keeping up with this guy. it also causes them to have to make a decision quicker on if to bite or not.

  • the fish have hard time focusing above their heads,,, their ZOOM is off, so they often miss the lure... love the spook..

  • might wont to sharpen your hooks mate ... great sport tho 5 stars

  • This vid is very old. This was the first topwater session ever and I now know how it's done properly.

But thanks for commenting all. As you can see, everyone has his own "tricks" to catch their fish. There is no right or wrong way. One guy fishes fast and the other retrieves slow as hell. That's what makes fishing great.

Keep on doing your own thing and have fun!

  • dude...you are retrieving WAY TOO FAST...you have to go slower...also let the fish EAT the bait...DONT yank the lure as soon as the fish strikes....let the fish EAT the luke, then the hook will set......Id have the pond fished out already.....

  • Yea that is the best way to do it but a lot of people get really excited and yank it right away. It is kind of a hard thing to master for a lot of people.

  • not true, The speed of retrieve depends on the season, at least here in Europe.. Same as using glide baits, when the water is warm, and bait fish is very active, you should retrieve fast with 1 second pauses, when the water starts to cool down, and the bait fish get sluggish, your retrieve should slow down as well, same as the pauses should extend up to 10 secs. The second wait before yanking is a must definitely...

  • i would think that it would be the same as deadbaiting....depending on the bait/lure leave it for 3-7 seconds dependin on how the fish strikes it

  • matfinkboy is totally right, keep it in the water all the way up to the bank. pike are notorious for "following it up". thebassbros is also right, what helped me with topwater when i first started using it was to let em strike then when i couldn't see the hook set it. hope this helps! and happy fishing!

  • wait till he takes it before you set the hook

  • its hard, you get exited.

  • I love his voice cracks when he gets excited, he sounds like my sister.

  • if they miss it you need to stop or slow down....or just learn how to set the hook

  • Theres pike in them there waters! when you lift it out, do it slower, youll be surprised.

  • He changed the hook connectio now,and now the hooking chance is improved alot!

  • need to use a delayed hookset

  • In ieder geval lekker bezig zo te zien.

    Better luck next time! ;)
