  • the one all the way on the right needs to stand up staight...it's kinda bugging me...

  • FANTASTIC! Where are these girls from? Are they only 14 when this video was done? Congratulations to Mr. David Wright...

  • @sampaiomarcia1 - thank you! These girls are from the San Francisco Bay Area in California and yes, they were only 14 when this video was done. They have since changed their name to LoveNotes quartet.

  • @kagilmore2 14?! They seem to be several years older! But they are great indeed!

  • Perfect!

  • angel of music from phantom of the opera.i love this song! if you ever see these girls again tell them they are magnificent! they sung it a little too fast but it's beautiful.

  • Wow, fantastic singing! Beautiful job!!

(Kinda wish the sound had been a bit better, but even so ...)

  • Being a huge phantom of the opera fan, and one who enjoys to sing it as well, I really appreciated the harmony and the strength in which you all sang this. I was very impressed.

  • where did ya'll get this arrangment it's beautiful!!!

  • thanks.....this is a David Wright arrangement

  • are you guys naturally this talented or did you take voice lessons? either way you guys are amazing and should keep it up

  • You sounded amazing and your dresses are beautiful

  • omgee amaziing (:

  • I love how the bigger they are, the lower their octave, the smaller they are, the higher their octave. lol

  • @SeamusIsThaCoolest hahaha! Such a departure from: "it ain't over till the fat lady sings"

Although to be fair, since I've lost weight, my singing has dramatically improved.

  • the hand motions annoy me BUT WELL DONE

  • I got goosebumps when she hit that high note at the end... -_-

  • Wow!!! I love this!

Sometimes the movies leave out lyrics from the original product, so that might be it......IDK

  • Nice singing, though the third girl I had trouble hearing.

  • perfect pitch.!~_^

  • wow i lied this and at 14 that's good

  • I love that the triplets on the vocalizing at the end are actually sang, and very well, at that.

  • The 4th girl has horrible posture.

  • Great Quartet!!

    Soprano, Mezzo1, Mezzo2, Contralto!!!

  • @nichris5566 Sorry, no -- in Barbershop singing, we call the parts, from high to low, Tenor, Lead, Baritone, Bass. We use men's barbershop terms. I am a Lead in a small Sweet Adelines chorus. This quartet, with a new member, is now called LoveNotes and they will be among several quartets representing Region 12 (N. Cal. & Nevada) in the International Competition in Seattle this October. Good luck LoveNotes!

  • WOW that first girl is amazing and the 4th girl has a really deep voice and the other two are in between WOW IS ALL I GOT TO SAY!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT JOB GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW! You ladies are absolutely fantastic! (Or should I say "phantastic"?) :D

  • que maravilla

  • oh just sooooooooooo brilliant!

  • i couldn't understand what the forth lady sings after 1:10. could somebody gimme a hand? it's some part they added up to the original lyrics?

  • the lyrics starting after 1:10 are......from the misty shadows you arise I can see you there you stand before me phantom.......

  • I love to way they sing 'The Phantom of the Opera' Yes, the song. Not the whole thing, I am only talking about that song. :P I love the harmonies. :D

  • oh wonderful... amazing... *find no words*

  • the completeness of women voice..From Soprano to Alto!! I Love It! Worth Watching!

  • I love the visuals and the blend. It's amazing!

  • YOU GUYS ARE INSANELY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! all of you have such beautiful voices! im stunned!!

  • oi

the small girl looks like the pink ranger haha

the one the right side sexy o la la haha

    they sing good togeather

    the end

    :P

  • Wow! This is so cool! I want to do it my barbershop quartet! Who arranged this? Any one know?

  • This is a David Wright arrangement

  • omg!!

    very angelic..

    very nice!!

    i love it.

  • i thought these girls were very good, people have to rememeber even if the musical is called phantom of the opera, doesnt have to be opera...... hahaha

    kudous to these girls

  • man, people are just frigg'n critics on youtube and always want to hate on what people try to do or love to do.... they did good, if you don't like it than bite your tongue, it just shows the characteristic of your personality when you just want to make fun of people

  • I love The Phantom of the Opera, and you sing really good! Congratulations! You sing beautiful!

  • Kind of good, but overdone in many places. Harsh harmony in places. Badly sharp notes, too much falsetto where it should not be (such as the last note of your 'song' where you nearly screamed...that note should have been lilting and graceful, not painful). Really, why play with the words and make them into a performance like an old toothpaste commercial? Opera-esque broadway should not be turned into a quartet spectacle. Nothing against you personally...I am just a concerned Phantom fan.

  • I must say i agree with you. I looove Phantom, and I hate that it's been made into a performance quartet spectacle thing, the whole mood and the feeling of the songs are just totally changed.

(The rest of your comment is probably a bit harsh... but I totally agree with the last bit of your comment)

They are all amaaaazzinggg singers!!! Just the actual medly i didn't like so much...

  • It's harsh, but if it needs to be said, I will say it...they are good singers (not exactly phenomenal, but good) and I have nothing against them. They just need to get more practice and maybe try to extend their range naturally or leave those falsetto notes to the professionals.

  • Dont be like that... They did it very well...

Its different... And only 4 voices... its hard...

    Good job Girls!

  • You sound like my mom... =P

It sounds strange cause youre not used to this kind of interpretation... And when we like something a lot we tend to dislike covers...

It sounds kinda empty without the huge orquestra and band... but its not bad... its just diferent... =D

    Cya!

  • @gelaman

It's not that I don't like it because it is a different interpretation alone, it is that it is done badly. The tune is off in places, the notes forced (not natural sounding in any way), the whole thing overdone in places (as I said before in my first comment).

Nothing against the girls of course. I'm looking at this objectively now, without any subjectivity to cloud my judgment on the piece.

  • whoa! lol i'm amazed that anyone could ever hit that last note :]

    great job!

  • woooooow they are so amazing! i wish i could sing this with my quartet.. 5/5 :)

  • Hol-ie BLEEP!!!lol

    damn you girls are great!!!

  • Wow. This is Amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • They sing a little bit too fast....sounds a bit like they are rushing

  • Simply amazing

  • These girls make me happy to call myself a Barbershopper... That and the Baritone (second from the right) is a cutie!!!

  • @zanatos2003 But a girl Barbershop is a Beautyshop :)

  • whats with the hand motions?? and you guys need to work on your opera :D and wrong song

  • I think it's a personal thing really, if hand movements are what you feel, that's what you do. Whenever I play any instrument, be it sax, piano, trumpet, guitar, whatever, I move with the music, just as a byproduct of the feeling I put in.

  • wow!

  • Their dresses are amazing, any idea where they bought them?

  • is there sheet music for this arrangement? if so could you tell me where to purchase it?

  • You may purchase the sheet music through David Wright, barbershop arranger.

  • Wow Awesome Harmony Girls!!!

  • very amazing i wounder did y'all conbin angel of music and phantom of the opera IT'S KOOL sounding

  • simply astonishing performance

  • l'hanno distrutta sta canzone, mio dio D:

  • this acualy angel of music

  • How strange....I did not remove your comment. I do not know how that occurred. I'm sorry you find this arrangement so distasteful. Please look at the updated version of Phantom Of The Opera listed under LoveNotes Quartet......and let me know if you find it equally objectionable.

  • Your comment was "removed" because there were so many people who disagree with you. When a comment gets -5 or -6, it automatically does not show up on the video. If your comment was removed by the owner of the account, the screen name wouldn't even show up--but it does so you know the owner didn't remove it. Obviously with so many views, good comments, and high ratings, this video isn't as horrible as you think it is. You're entitled to your own opinion...but apparently it's only shared by you

  • It sounds more like you dislike that it bears poor resemblance to the original. You should judge things on their own merits - just decreeing it terrible and saying you performed in POTO is just lazy and hughty of you. This arrangement is tremendous, and considering the age of the girls was sung excellently, both harmonies and solos- dynamics needed a bit of work

  • It was a bit rushed but you're still a snob.

  • Comment removed

  • Woohoo! These guys were great, cause I'm sing barbershop and yes, it is tenor, lead, bass, and baritone. I'm a baritone, so go baritone person!

  • Although these arms were a little over the top, I must agree.

  • Comment removed

  • I also sing women's barbershop. I'm in a chorus and a quartet and another chorus wants me to join them. It's tenor, lead, baritone, bass. I sing lead. But I was a bass for a little while. My chorus director actually knows these girls.

  • Whoa....that's rather harsh. These girls were only 14 years old when this video was made. As for the arrangement.....this was written by one of the best a cappella arrangers in the country....Mr. David Wright.....a very difficult piece.

  • @luvharmony4 wow only 14! absolutly top notch amazing!

  • I like how the vocal range goes from shortest to highest

  • Very chilling! shivers.

  • Gave me goosebumps.. that's a sign it's good.

  • Brilliant.

  • Absolutely amazing! I loved it,

  • that was wonderful very beautiful voices

  • So good I added it to favourites... twice.

  • i like it

    It makes me smile :)

  • Kind of out of tune, but the first one is ok until she goes high.

  • wow!!! the beginning girl is amazing

  • they have got to have wonn !

  • beautiful opera singers

  • they did a great job of this. .The two taller girls seemed to be Tenors. the other two semmed to be an Alto and a Soprano. correct me if I'm wrong.

  • From Left to Right here are there roles - Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass. By height and size, are how you can reconize which one has which role. Not saying a hefty girl can't be the soprano! But in this case, size happens to be a key component.

  • Actually, they sing barbershop, so from left to right it's tenor, baritone, lead, bass

  • Are you sure it isn't, from left to right, Soprano, Tenor, Alto, and Bass?

& can you explain why you disagree?

  • It Seems Like It's A Form Of Barbershop Honestly.

    Soprano Tenor Lead And Bass.

  • In barbershop, even woman's barbershop, the parts are tenor, lead, baritone, bass. In barbershop, there are no parts labeled soprano or alto. The women follow the men with their part labeling.

  • I think they're from left 1st soprano, 2nd soprano (lead), mezzosoprano (or 1st alto) and alto (or 2nd alto)... it's the same as it's for men (1st tenor, 2nd tenor/lead, baritone and bass) but you can't use the same term for women as for men... the categorization of women voices are soprano, mezzosoprano and alto, for men voices is used tenor, baritone and bass

  • I sing woman's barbershop and I guarantee you that women follow men's categorization for barbershop so it's tenor, baritone, lead and bass from left to right. You can check online at woman's barbershop sites, or even wikipedia has it right.

  • It does seem like that..

  • Yes it is alto and bass not lead and bass

  • okay, seriously. bbsbari has it right. its tenor baritone lead and bass. women and men often sing TOGETHER in quartets, so they made it unisex for ALL quartets. if you want to argue, go ahead, but i'm afraid you are QUITE wrong.

  • I LOVE it. They are just freakin amazing

  • hahahah.

  • The arm movements are for them to keep them flowing. It's nothing that's supposed to be aesthetic for the audience.

  • really good, especially the high noted at the end!! though i thought that it was sometimes too low (the voice of the girl from the right) but that was really good :)

  • the arm movements are destracting. use the face more to tell the story instead of using the hands

  • so this is really good... but what's with all of the arm movement? random much?

  • amazing

  • Comment removed

  • WOW! Really good!

  • Huh?

  • Hahahhahahahaaha

  • meravigliose!!!!

  • Love it!!

  • woah, they are good. i just don't like the movements. YUCK!

    THAT"S SO COOL!!!

  • I have heard this song get mangled soooo many times before... it's nice to hear a great rendition for once. Slick job, ladies.

  • Brilliant performance, and some very difficult chord transitions, too. The open chords at the end rang very well. Absolutely brilliant. I hope you go far.

  • I absolutely LOVE how this all came together! WOW!
