That' wouldn't even have occured to me, hmm. Apprently the anti-gravity, or the "inertial dampeners," onboard most starships is nearly indestructible. In all of Star Trek, through horrible battles and power losses and physical truamas, you never see the anti-grav give out except aboard a Klingon Bird of Prey during Star Trek VI.

The turbolifts (elevators) run the length of the ship, transporting upwards and downwards and also horizontally to various destinations.
