  • First the battery will go! This can man getting into windows a little tricky.Figured out how! Then the burner will fry! I also heard i can expect my keyboard to fry anyday! Awsome video.(i don't use the battery in my xps, would there be any reason this would affect cd burning? Im getting a power calibration error while trying to burn. Any input? I just think its time for a new cd drive.

  • omg i thought it was much harder than that its easy and great videos.

  • what optical bluray drives can i buy. do i have to buy the specific dell bluray drive or can i buy any bluray drive? thanks guys!

  • You may well be able to - but see the comment below in regards to swapping over the plastic cover so that your new drives matches with your system!

  • you forgot to mention the removal of the slanted plastic cover that attaches to the drive in order to make it flush with the system. you have to pop it off of the old drive and pop it on the new one (removing the generic plastic from the new one first).

  • Hi, so you can just buy this off dell right? Thanks

  • Yes, you should be able to.

  • doesn't boot on battery. Needed to download beta drivers (??!?). Why they sell these machines that do not work out of the box, I don't know...

Oh, and my DVD drive dont work either... Customer support!!!! Hope you like a work out too, it's heavy. Mopre like a portable desktop!

  • Im planning on gettig this notebook. Has anyone had any problems with it?

  • Only problems with it are with the GPU drivers - Dell's are always out of date!

  • This notebook blows - don't waste your money. After just two montsh, the DVD and the wireless does not work. Dealing with Dell Support: takes hours, they don't actually listen to you, they try to steer you toward a script, and they don't help you. Save your money.

  • I just ordered the XPS 1730 with the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T9500 (2.6GHz/800Mhz FSB/6MB cache) - 8GB RAM - NVIDIA® SLI™ Dual GeForce® 9800M GT 1GB GDDR3 - 500 GB (7200) Hard Drive - BLUERAY/DVD/CD Burner - WOOT CAN'T WAIT 7 days on shipping ..

  • does blu ray burn dual layer dvds?

  • please i want to know if this pc is the best notebook or no

  • aperantly yes

  • Who here recommends i get this,?

  • whats the prize on the bluray optical drive?

  • Do you know if the this Blu Ray drive (model no would be appricated) will work on other XPS laptops (e.g. the XPS M1210), from what I could tell in the video, it's the same type of drive and looks to be the same size, shape and connnector. Does anyone have any other information on this?

  • Where did you get the drive?

I can't seem to find any.

  • Go into any decent PC shop they will sell you a slimline bluray drive that will fit a standard slimline IDE slot on a laptop.

  • I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and I'm looking for a blu-ray drive, but I still haven't found.

Would you mind to tell me the part number and the model of your blu-ray drive?

  • You need a res. of 1920X1200

  • No you don't, 720p will suffice.

  • Can I buy and Blu-Ray drive from ebay and put it on? Please reply to this post JZK.

  • Yes you can. As long as it fits the system.

  • How much did the Blu-Ray cost?

  • I believe the BluRay drive was an upgrade costing around £330 at time of ordering the M1730.

  • Mate i have question that is not related to this video but to ur XPS M1730 Backpack Carry Case review video: is it the backpack waterproof??? i mean here in england rains a lot... all the time. Not funny :(
