They do make some day time fireworks like these parachute type and smokers that are seen better in the daytime.

It gives you something to do while waiting for the big show.

In a way agree with SilencedWarrior. Some people shoot fireworks during the day that are in fact ment for shooting at night (a bit silly imo). But I also agree with poprocz as there are some fireworks ment for shooting during the day (parachutes, smokes, ...). Take a look at the mascletas in Spain. Those are mostly daytime shows and are stunning.

I love parachutes. I remember, on july 4th, when I was 4, my dad let me light one of those things off. It landed on my neighbors house. my friend, who lived there, actually smacked me.

I always use a short length of slow visco taped to fast visco fuse.

The short fuse gives you time to retreat and the fast fuse lights everything in quick succession.

lol i had one of those on the pack it said shoots fireballs so i put it by a tree not thinking i shot a the parachute into the tree

I love parachutes. We always get a couple. I was @ a show a few weeks ago, and they had ones they shot up about the height of a 3" shell that had a perfectly burning red glow with a small white glow hanging about 2' below.. I dont know if it was burning inside the chute or was hanging below it. There was a perfect full moon that night that lit up the area a bit but I could not see the actual chute. My friend shot the show and I havent been able to ask yet. His pap owns Keystone Fireworks.

No smoke, army men or flares hanging from them but some daytime fun non the less.

Your right, I highly recommend a torch lighter for any type of fireworks.

I have since started using a mapp torch with an instant on/off trigger. Burns so hot you just think about lighting the fuse and it will light.

They were not Phantom but another brand. pretty much any 40" parachutes should give you similar effect though.

You're right, it is quite the shame they are illegal some places. Instead of running from fear we should be able to teach and educate folks the right way to use fireworks. Then less accidents, more fun for all and less illegal items being used in the wrong ways.
