original master version goes on past that for quite a while. it also has vocal 'baby baby's over the intro notes. i have no idea why they chopped it down for the single release because the full recording is much better.
@Stroboscopicalia The mind set back in the day, especially for r&b singles, was like 2 or 3 minutes. Airplay I'm sure had something to do with it because there were soooo many records, but... go figure. Still love the retro sounds and promote them in many forms before live audiences as often as possible. Thanks for sharing. Happy Mardi Gras!! ****DAVE♫♫♫♫DJ****
true, true. i play out as much nawlins soul and funk as i can every week and it always fares well with crowds even if they're not familiar with the tunes, which says a lot about the quality and power of this music. especially professor longhair's "big chief", the explosions "hip drop" and the killer organ funk b-side to lee dorseys "four corners".. all dancefloor movers and groovers. anyways, i will try to upload the full recording of THIS track soon for your listening pleasure!
@maddammkup We took gems like this for granted at the time they were released & we sold & promoted them at One Stop Record Shop in New Orleans on South Rampart Street because there were SOOOOOO many at the time. In retrospect years later, they are ALL rare gems! Love This Song! DAVEDJ

Classic. How Miss Hooper isn't widely recognised as one of the greats I do not know.

Wish at the time they had taken the very very end fadeout with the reverb/echo and extended it as a whole new part of a longer version! DAVEDJ
