Well Henley Hall was built and it looks great. I will be in Europe during the fall but I am hoping to live there in the Spring. It looks amazing, spacious and good for the students who are trying to live close to campus and not commute from another state. Sorry for the way that STJ did it, but you should know that public safety will not allow the neighborhood to go down or allow students to get out of control. This video is pointless.
What many people fail to realize is that this is not St. John's building... we are leasing it. This would have been built regardless St. Johns just decided to take advantage of this especially since we are admitting so many freshman. Realistically the community should take their issue up with the actual owner of the building. Btw St. Johns has made several attempts to negotiate but the community is WAY to unorganized.
you couldn't be more wrong. for a developer to build a community facility (i.e. dorm), he has to have a signed contract. SJU is not an innocent bystander. And btw, there was/is no attempt to negotiate. Negotiation is give and take. SJU has no intention in doing that...it's all about the money....it'd rather screw the communtiy.
homes were burnt to make room for big development, get it? if you're such an excellent university, you would know it's "a university" and not "an university." so who's the moron?
henley hall is one of the more nicer dorms @ st johns and i highly recommend it

what does the burned house represent? We are an university, an excellent one and thus an expanding one. You people are bunch of morons.

I think they're angry because our university kind of went over the heads of the community with the decision to build the new dorms.
i.e. The lack of consultation
