It took me a while to figure it out but once you know it, it's pretty simple...
The dusty record gives the date and time you need. Go downstairs and from the entry hall enter the parlor. Remove the music record playing, and play the dusty record. ( the date is April 18, 1775 and the time is 11:30) after you write it down go to the library and grab the book for the clocks. it tells you that the moon is red and last quarter.
[spoiler]No use for the coin there is a walkthrough link right below the game that might point you to something you missed. Frequently missed things are the conversation in the dining room and Papers on the piano. Note on the table in the cellar and note in the drawer in the attic.[/spoiler]
I GOT IT!!! okay you have to set the time to 11:30,
the small hand half way between the 11 and the 12 and the big hand on the 6.
and move the red moon to the right, covering it halfway,
then click the exit button and the clock will move to the left.

I still cant figure out how to do the clock puzzle! even with the spoiler it still wont open..I have to be doing something wrong..?

Great game!! ...."You have 110 out of 112 points." Don't know how to get those last 2 points. Can you do anything with the coin??
