sounds like glitch mob. while i applaud you being able to game on linux, the problems with getting wine to run programs designed for windows is just god damn full retarded.
"Sorry for video quality but I can´t record my screen with recording program because my fps fall down." <-- THAT won't happen in windows. God bless Bill. God please do not permit that I become one of this wannabe "hackers" that think that bringing up a console and looking at it is l33t.
@linuxrealpower It really shouldn't fall below 30 with fraps though... Never had that problem personally, I would say it is more dependant on hardware than OS...
There are no technological reasons why linux can't handle the bleeding edge in games, the only reason is that everyone and their dog thinks DirectX is the goto API for games. Writing cross platform code is pretty mainstream in the open source community, so why not in game studios?
so to play games you have to run wine... so you have to emulate games.. Please tell me you dual boot with windows for games. It's such a waste of hardware to emulate.
@teh1337storm I played via wine.but W - wine, I - is, N - not, E - emulator.It's just fake API of windows on linux.But when you use something via wine, in 85% of case it's slower.For this I don't play games anymore and I dont want dual boot
nice video bro ive tried running crysis on ubuntu but no luck im thinking of switching to gentoo hopefully ill have more luck running games so far i was able to run dead space but the details and background wont show do you have any ideas why?
looks like it runs good here...see most of my games are on steam and i think the reason some don't work is cuz of that damn steam client..i have to get the boxed copies cuz ive noticed the retail versions run alot better than there steam counterparts
@MrSebzi Yes I know it.You have to just install it and copy fix to "bin32".I have original game but it runs just with "fix".Or have you some problms with the installation ?
@MrSebzi mine is also bad :D Try to install it in VirtualBox and after that you can try to copy it to linux and maybe it will runs.btw super user = root.Did you tried sudo chown -hR you /dir ? this ?
It would have been NICE to know the SPECS of the rig and the SETTINGS on the game, but awesome video man :)

@exodusinside also, system specs?
exodusinside 7 months ago
@exodusinside intel Q6600 @ 3,3GHZ
vga is nvidia gtx 460 and 8GB ram ddr3 1333mhz.
linuxrealpower 7 months ago
@linuxrealpower and with those specs you still cant run a recording program? i run crysis 2 maxed out and fraps records admirably.
amd phenom 2x4 965 @ 3.4 ghz, gpu xfx hd 6850, 8 gigs of ddr3 1666
also, not trying to start a fight or anything, just saying, similar horsepower. :)
