Wow! I remember this! My favorite sequence (next to Fabulous Freddie) from the Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Show, one of my favorite Saturday morning TV indulgences. They really knew how to make comedy back then. Thanks for bringing it back!
This was great...the 70s was just such a cool era. I was born in 69, and I got to grow up with all the cool television and the great songs of the 70s, and it was just a magical time. It's a shame that the older I got, the more "UNcool" everything got! :/
I wonder what happened w/ Chucky and Cindy Schwartz? Did they end up getting married w/ 10 kids?...LMAO! I miss this too! Glad to see that Brett is okay!
One of the production types on the show was named Margolis. I guess that was a tribute to his kid or something. Whatever, I loved this show and that was my favorite skit.
@CanadaFamilyMan well, i just watched this and laughed as hard as i did when i was a kid and watched this. what you mean is that they weren't funny to you. different people find different things funny. for instance, i think the three stooges is stupid. my son thinks they are hysterical.
LOL ~ I totally forgot about Chucky Margolis until my dad said something about having his birthday cake thrown down into the basement to him like CM. ahahaha...I knew YouTube would have a clip! lol ~ thanks : )
If you don't already have it, get a copy of the movie "Hysterical" starring the Hudson Brothers and a GREAT bunch of actors doing a spoof of various scary movies. Absolutely priceless.
While most boys were hanging their Farrah posters, I was watching this. 'nuff said. Who'd thunk that Bill would marry Goldie? "Hey Margolis!" no thanks...I'm trying to cut down.
Man !!!!!!!, "just another boring day day on the island of Peagy Peagy! I'd love too see the clip of these three guys on that stupid rock holding on to that one small palm tree!!!! Thanks for reminding me!
omg!!..this was GREAT!! I don't remember watching them on Saturday mornings...was probably not into Sat morning shows at the time. But I do remember them being a summer replacement show. And you have to remember....no VCRs...you watched it once and that was pretty much it! And damn those guys were HOT!! I bet I didn't even get the bong part back then. lmao.
I remember the intro to RD was the same and seemed to take up the first 5 min.of the show every week, but as a kid,it was worth waiting for! This was entertainment for us,remember,we didn't have video games, computers.and satellite tv,but we did have something you have very little of now,Saturday morning anticipation!
I was in my early 20's when this show was on. I remember the Hudsons as being fine musicians, even though their music was not really mainstream. My mother used to watch this and enjoyed the comedy bits.
I watched their show when I was in grade school and laughed my butt off every Saturday morning. We used to go around school saying "Hey mar-GO-lis". Thanks for posting!
You know, at least part of this routine - the bit about the bong - was on their "Hollywood Situation" album. Because I remember that when Alan says he saw Robin Hood Chucky hits him and says, "You did NOT see Robin Hood!" Then turns to Mark and says "But I did see..." and he says the name of another fictional character that I can't remember. God, I wish I still had that album.
And what I love was the completely spot-on delivery that Brett had of that line...just like any 6 year old who was telling that story. "But I did see Cinderella!" It was SO funny!
The DVD is quite affordable so hang in there, I'm sure it will be available for a while. Check Amazon for a used copy, you can get good prices on stuff there.
WHERE did you get this footage? OMG! I have gone back in time!! I was in high school in 1974 when The Hudson Brothers were on and a classmate of mine and I did the entire Chucky Margolis skit for drama classes at our high school & everyone loved it, especially the drama teacher who kept asking us to do it for other classes! Thank you so very much!!!!! Seeing that has made my day! I do hope that someone will release the summer replacement shows along with the Razzle Dazzle show. Bill still makes my heart melt after all these years.
Holy crap! Drinking bong water on a kids' show?? LMAO!! Damn, today's kids shows suck in comparison! LOL

What a great alias to use on somebody! "What's your name, sir?" "Margolis, Chuckie Margolis", "and, what would you like on your pizza, Mr. Margolis?"
I wonder if anyone would get it?
Doubtful.

tuttt99 3 years ago
Yes! The 3 disc set was released on June 17th and is available on Amazon and other sites. The set has the
complete saturday morning show plus highlights from
the summer replacement show. I'm surprised they didn't
include those as it was only on for about a month. The
quality of the DVD's is excellent. Vivid colors and clear
picture. The audio is great too. There are quite a few
Chuckie Margolis episodes on the first two discs and
three bonus episodes from the summer show on disc 3.
Enjoy!
