Hey ! I need a programme to create visual effects like peaple faces and some objectives ! After that i will finish it with ballons filling ! Please help !
@TheXtremeGamer90 If you mean drawing people's faces, as far as I know you do that yourself (if you're the artist). You shouldn't expect a program to have a readied image of what you want. That's your job.
I have photoshop and gimp, but I dont now what fonts i should get whether I should use free ones or buy them from comic craft, I also don't know how to load them in photoshop, does anybody know how to do this?
@Dalen77 To load downloaded fonts into Photoshop, simply add them to your "fonts" in your computer (Control Panel -> Fonts), then open Photoshop. They should be there.
Original fonts work better, as far as I know at least. As long as it's understandable, easy to read, it should be fine, but try straying from Comic Sans. It's considered amateur, and as aforementioned, people prefer seeing original fonts even more. It'll make your comic all that more memorable to the reader.
some times i likes to make my chat bubbles really bigs so thats you cant sees the peoples faces in my comics haha, hows that grab yas, i holds tha powah!!!!!!
is this before or after the page is shrunken down? Is this down when the page is in its original page size or after it has been shrunken down to 6.5x 10 or whatever standard comic book page is?
A) You wanna double your productivity and save time if you already have the script printed out? IT'S CALLED COPY AND PASTE! Seriously, what is this armature hour?
B) If I had illustrator... putting in bubbles is what? As easy as throwing in a line? jeebus...
It's a nice effort, but there are so many things wrong about this. The balloons are horrible and WHY are you not copying/pasting from the DIGITAL script? Wasting so much time and effort this way.
@deadlyfred11 oh really? you can tell from looking at the monitor the balloons are wrong? Who are you to say it's wrong? There is NO SET STANDARD. if you have to critique, why not put up your own vid you asshole.
people like are always so quick to complain and bitch like old women but NONE of you ever puts your money where your mouth is.
Well said. And have you noticed how angry people get when they try to prove that their way is the right way? They spend more time calling names and fumbling about with their bullshit trying make themselves look smarter than they do actually making sense. This site needs a "flush" button for people like that. When they cause too much of a problem, click the button and out they go. :P
HaasCage meaning your way is the right way. Negative. As long as hes able to help tell the story its the right way. YES! This is the simplistic way to letter comics and yes its not as complicated as making your own balloons with Illustrator, but just because we are not actually putting pen to paper its the overall effect and does it help tell the story that is most important.
@makingcomicsstudios first of all, Hascage pointed out the WRONG information this guy gives. Second, this way is fine if you want to look amateurish. If you can only afford photoshop, this the only process, but it is an eyesore. If you use Illustrator, it is much easier to make your own balloons and copy and paste text.
wouldn't it be much easier if you'd do it in InDesign? you can import your balloons in there as well and have the whole comic book in just one file and export alle the pages ready for print in one PDF-file.
Comic craft is a place that sells ready-made fonts. You can actually find a lot of free fonts online, in places like fontfreak and even deviantart. These are okay for amateur and hooby comic creators, but keep in mind that it's really easy to become too reliant on ready-made fonts, resulting in rather repetitive and monotonous looking comics. If you want to get into the industry I would highly suggest learning how to letter the traditional way, or work with someone that knows how.
wow it would be nice to show us HOW to get the word balloons

If I wanted to use a computer to do my lettering for me, I wouldn't need a fucking tutorial.

@dustybeijing You'd be surprised how many questions I've seen with people asking how to do word balloons and silly things like that on a computer.

@NYCPulpHero why so hostile? I'm a pro letterer who's been doing this a long time and I just want to make sure people aren't doing this the WRONG WAY.
Check my videos page, I just made a video on this, but the 10 minute time limit is a problem.

ComicCraft isn't a program, It's a studio that letters comics and sell fonts for comic books. The program he is using is Abode Illustrator.
Sorry to say this but this guy needs to learn the craft of lettering the right way.
