  • The bunnies look very realistic, don't they?

  • Well, whoever it was, Jim Martin or Rick Lyon, doing the girl bunny, did a very convincing voice.

  • @GroverKent Hold on a fingerlicking minute GroverKent, are you sure the other bunny was a girl? For all we know they could both been BOY bunnies, therefore they would've been brothers

  • the bird

  • the flowers

  • I remember watching this classic. I loved it growing up. Matter of fact, if it weren't for that skit, I never would've found my favorite animal: Bunnies. The bunnies here are so cute, I want two cute bunny puppets looking just like the ones on the skit.

    Thanks for showing the segment!

  • It sure would be odd if any of them WEREN'T glad to be around.

  • i caught this on tv on the weekend and couldn't stop laughing at the bunnies verse! and i had the chorus stuck in my head for the rest of the day.. love love love sesame street!

  • when the sparrow is singing that's how i got here he does a cute wing dance...i love the tune of this song...it's just catchy That's how we got here!!!

  • the babies bunnies are cute

  • i love the lil birdie so cute! ^_^

  • I like this song!

I remember seeing this as a kid.

  • Those are by far the most realistic bunnies, aren't they?

  • The bunnies freaked me out when I was little. But seeing it now, the whole thing's pretty cute, and good for kids to see.

  • Great. Very age-appropriate. Gotta keep it simple. Plants grow from seeds, birds grow inside eggs, mammals grow inside the mother. How they started growing is a detail for when children can process abstract concepts about things they can't see.

  • The flowers look very pretty.

  • jerry nelson made the baby sparrow sounded so cute!! but i don't like the 2 flowers, makes me choke when i saw tehm while eating..

  • i remember it first when i saw it on sprout

on tv and then i get to do it it's the first time i sing it from elmo's green thumb

  • Oh wow, I haven't seen this in years...it's so cute^^

  • Thanks for posting! I love this. :)

  • Yes, everyone on this sounds like the fraggles! The bird sounded like gobo!

  • Every time I hear this song and other similar country songs, I always think of those 1980's daytime soap operas, most famously All My Children on ABC.

  • i fell in love with this song from my son's sesame street tape... wicked awesome...

  • Who performed the two flowers, a bird, and two rabbits?

  • One flower was Fran, the bird is Jerry.

  • @Deanmo23 Flowers:Fran Brill and Kathy Mullen, Sparrow: Jerry Nelson Bunnies: Steve Whitmire (or is Jim Martin?) and Rick Lyon (or is it Dave Goelz?)

  • @muppetlover16 Jim Martin and Rick Lyon performed the two bunnies.

  • @Deanmo23 I miss Rick Lyon!

  • @muppetlover16 Actually, both flowers are performed by Fran Brill and Louise Gold.

  • @Deanmo23 I heard Prairie Dawn as one flower, but I couldn't hear Annie Sue Pig, that's why I thought the other one was Kathy? btw which bunny was Rick again?

  • Wow! I haven't seen this since I was 4 or 5. Thanks for posting.

  • The baby Sparrow is such a cute little guy!!

  • @WSHSkins44 Not as cute as the baby bunnies- but still cute.

  • When I first watched the skit, it got me loving bunnies.

  • CLASSIC! Those bunnies are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!

  • Was this written by non-other than Philip Balsam & Dennis Lee from Fraggle Rock? For some reason, this song's mellody sounds like it came from Fraggle Rock for some reason. Maybe it's the folk-style.

  • Sheer classic. This is what you don't see now.

  • why didn't the mom sing?

  • Because the song related to her babies being born. So she had no need to sing.

  • @moatguy Good point, but on the other hand, she got here the same way as her kids. It wouldn't have hurt if she had sang along. Doesn't really matter either way though.

  • @Garrettk41 They sang "We grew inside OUR MUM." She was the mum and they were not talking about her mum.

  • @moatguy Details, details!

    Still, I guess you're right.

  • @Garrettk41 Of course I'm giving details. How clearer can I make it.

  • what detail do they leave out?

  • Christ

  • I thought God created the world.....

  • Yes He did. Sesame Street and Christianity have never met in the years I watched as a kid!

  • You see, 2ue...sometimes when a man loves a woman.......

  • what does that have to do with what I asked?

  • Rather realistic-looking bunnies.

  • I love this song! thanks!

  • THIS IS SO AWSOME!!!!! I LUV THIS SONG ITS BEEN OVER TEN YEARS AGO SENCE I'VE LAST SAW THIS. I MISS EARLY CHILDHOOD SOOO MUCH. THANK U VERY VERY 100% MUCH. 100% of STARS FOR U. THANK U THANK U THANK U!!!!!!!!!!. U SAVED MY MEMORIES!!!!!

  • Is this from 1980s or 1990s?!

  • @ruwise2 Well, since Rick Lyon and Jim Martin are there it must be from the 90's

  • i was looking 4 this. thanx 4 posting

  • A baby sparrow sounds a lot like Gobo Fraggle.

  • That,s because both are voiced by Jerry Nelson.

  • That flower with red petals looks a lot like Boober Fraggle.

  • Well I think that the red petals flower sounds just like Red Fraggle. Yellow Petals flower sounds just like Mokey Fraggle Baby Sparrow sounds just like Gobo Fraggle, Baby bunnies sounds just like Wembley and Boober Fraggle. This will make a GREAT Fraggle Rock song don't u think?

  • well, Jim Henson went to lengths to obscure however fraggles reproduced, EG Wembley thinks the big egg is a "house for babies" etc

  • I saw that episode. It was soo cute.

  • My sister is going to flip out when I tell her this! She's been waiting for this one for the longest time! Thank you so much!

  • Something tells me the bird was performed by Jerry Nelson. Right?

  • Yup.That's Jerry Nelson performing the bird.

  • Is that supposed to be the major detail they didn't mention?

  • I assumed it was, although I could be wrong.

  • Garrett: Uh...a big ovious "DUH".

  • No guilt trips, please.

  • Garret: Sorry, but when something is so common sense and people don't get it, it irrates me.

  • I understand, but sometimes it's better to just keep it to yourself. Also, if you read more comments, you'll find I wasn't the only one who asked. And it was my first guess at any rate.

  • Garret: Still, it was a rather silly question to ask, especially since even kids learn about "it" at younger ages than ever before, nowadays.

  • Well, we all ask silly questions at one time or another. And I don't think a small thing like this is worth making an issue out of. Will someone please delete this thread?

  • Cute biology lesson, although mentioning the s-e-x would've been a bit much for a show aimed at kindergarten kids!

  • Although, as soon as the kid sees a new sibling of the opposite sex being bathed, the questions about s-e-x are bound to start. Better for those to be dealt with by the parents, who can tailor their answers to the child's age and maturity than by a generic TV show.

  • Definitely; that's why I said that part of the lesson would be "a bit much" for Sesame Street to try handling.

  • ISNorden: But it is sad to know that kids now learn about "it" at increasingly younger ages.

  • I remember this.
