@TVrawks301 they just wait for the next one. In fact, I took the video standing next to the train that I used each day. It takes 5 minutes longer to get to the same final destination. Plenty of room on there. No one lost any ticket money. :-)

@vietman90210 ... Not that many people have a demand to ride the same elevator everyday, plus most elevators will buzz when their weight limit has been reached so it doesn't get too crowded.
Is this in Tokyo? I have seen Plat form attendants pushing people into the trains when beyond compacity on TV when they talked about Tokyo metro. Can get some videos of the Shinkansen please?
there seems to be enough population to not even worry about safety! Wait till some catastrophic natural event (earthquake) and then we'll be hearing them bitch.
The train they get on goes to 3 stations after this one. The next train (which leaves one minute later), goes to the same three stations plus 3 more in between.
If they did, the trains would be too long for the platforms.
Realistically, there's still plenty of room: the local train (from which I often took videos) has ample space, and arrives at the end of the line just 4 minutes after the packed express train.
I would like to know how cellphones, laptops and shopping bags survive this kind of treatment! I would never get into this trains if it is packed like in this video! No air to breath, squeezed in a box like that!
Horrible, but kind of sad, that they can't just attach 2 more wagons to the train and avoid this kind of torture!
This sort of overcrowding is downright dangerous and its a wonder a massive disaster and loss of life hasn't occurred yet.
In most countries this would be illegal. I understand the Japanese situation though, this is a necessity and cannot be avoided... I'm just scared that some day an accident is going to happen, a fire or minor crash could easily result in massive deaths with trains this full.
opps Staff* Yes at peak hour in the morning and during the evening its very crowded to the extent that people cannot get on. The only difference is that they don't force themselves on the train like the passengers on your video. ^^
Wow; I had no idea. When I visited Melbourne, the trains I rode were quite civilizedly not-packed, but of course that was in the afternoon (tourist hours are different than work hours..:-)
I don't know why people here are so keen to save a few minutes (the time and location where I took the vids the people on the squished train save basically 4 minutes to get the the final station on this line).. the train just across the platform goes to the same locations and has plenty of room!
Is it just the express trains that have people packed in, or are all of the trains like that? I saw one or two people who were trying to get on that train turn around and get on the train you were in...
Fuck! No wonder fat man is not allowed in Japan.
