I blame both parties for the Mortgage mess, and agree, kick the illegals out and cut wasteful Government spending, and stop taxing our income. You suggest go grow someplace else, but business located elsewhere fails to bring in the sales tax needed to keep our parks green, our fire and police staffed and roads and sidewalks maintained. I dont work for the City, I work for a major national trademark & its not Wal-Mart! I want to see our city grow, in fact I would like to see the Hoffman property developed into a retail hub in a similar way that Pleasant Hill developed their down town. I want investors to buy-up all the foreclosed homes here and fix them up from eyesores to spectacular properties, that in turn, when the housing market heats up again the renovated properties will bring the values up in all our neighborhoods.
During the ALUC hearing on WalMart, John Foster would not allow the City manager to show a poster board that demonstrates this exact point. Good Job!
