Did you see this tribute DVD? It is an amazing show & definitely worth buying it. I love their family style of playing where they each solo for a minute or two & keep going around the circle. Of course as far as I'm concerned they could keep going forever :) I really LOVE this song, found SRV after he was gone, am grateful there is so much of his work available to me and he'll always have a place in my heart & spirit. :)
8+ minute long live video, BEST song from SRV tribute DVD, this is the song written by Art Neville about Stevie Ray Vaughan's death, here performed by the best blues musicians ALIVE today, from the DVD I just rewatched this again last night so I'd know the song to share with friends today. This is the best DVD, besides Pink Floyd's Pulse, I've ever owned/seen/had.
Jimmy , Stevie is smiling down with great admiration.....you carrying on this gift you both were blessed with , your the best brother and show such passion, just love you so much!
Jimmie is a leg, this is so awesome, he gives it real guts, and its hard work i think and it shows, a complex guitar part beautifically crafted to rise above the other amazing players, yet he is at the front runnin the gig and diggin it. My kids even love this one, and try and listen to his album Strange Pleasure - you will not be disappointed, Jimmie u is da man !!!!!!!! love andie t

@QueenToKingOfSpades the bassplayer plays on the bass that Johnny winter lent to Jimi Hendrix in the 60'. Bob margolin told me that. If you search in the web: Jimi Hendrix and Johnny winter, you can find it. PS: I'm French and I'm 14 years old. Sorry;s
@chevrolet3370 No problem. I wish my French was as good as your English, and I'm 41 years old. Also, it's good to know that a person your age is listening to this music.

Long live Texas blues! and you will never be forgotten Stevie Ray..the love you passed on to the world....God bless
I wish stevie was still around he is a huge inspiration for me and I am only 15 its makes me mad that god would take someone as good as stevie was pure in his heart soul and playing. And another thing on august 26th in honoring of stevie I say we put as many covers as we can of stevie ray vaughn respond to this comment if you agree with me.
I'd never seen this till just now and gottdammitt it brought tears to my eyes. What a terriffic ensemble of the finest blues pickers in the world contributing their own individual and distinct talents to create this heavenly guitar/vocal chorus in tribute to the best guitarist who ever lived. RIP SRV.
@guitarfreakRSS Maybe the younger generation isn't so bad after all. I can already tell you're a good kid. Keep music in your soul and ALWAYS remember that you care about people. God bless you and your's, kid!
I've said it a million times: look at the comments on ANY videos about rock and blues music.... you'll find people of all ages saying that "today's music sucks" and younger people saying "i dont identify with today's music". There's millions of people saying it. Eventually something has to break.
The garbage they are pumping out today doesn't hold a candle to rock, grunge, blues or jazz, and plenty of young people know it.
BUT AFTER SEEN THIS, I FEEL A LOT OF RESPECT AND ADMIRATION FOR THIS MAN. THE WAY HE EXPRESSES LOVE TO HIS BROTHER IN THIS SONG BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES.
SRV was the greatest guitar player, All on that stage were great in the own rights... remember Stevie loved them all.... Probably goes without saying , Jimmy the most.
Stevie would think of no greater tribute I believe. He was such a sweet humble guy despite the amazing talent. I think his brother and "the legends" here would be an amazing tribute in his mind.
As Jimmie Vaughan stated in the interview, Neville sang on the demo recording. And the beginning/outro song IS Life By The Drop. P.S. For the don't already knows: SRV died in an absolutely foolish helicopter accident at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin.
"been waitin' on you Brother, welcome to the band"......is there anything else than can be said? And to have Jimmie sing it? MY GOD. Stevie I know would be so damn excited and proud......
You can see Jimmie holding back the tears. I bet it hard to do for him. I saw Jimmie live do this song, the same facial reactions. You can tell he loved his brother. God bless the Vaughan Family.
A fantastic tribute to SRV. The once and only time I saw him was in Germany at an amazing concert at the Loreley way back in the 70's. I'll never forget it, he was incredible - we'll always remember you Stevie ...
yea jimmy laying it down, clapton playing back-up (not only one of the best lead players but also one of the finest rhythm players) and you gotta love Bonnie!
great lyrics and heartfelt sentiment for a much-loved, much missed artist.
I was blessed. I saw Stevie play several times. Once with Eric Clapton at the Palace of Auburn hills, Once with Jeff Beck at Cobo Arena/hall and once as the Headliner at a place called Club Eastbrook in Grand Rapids Michigan, about a 2,500 seat Theatre.

I am trying to get everyone who was on the stage that night to autograph me(and have the sigs tattooed) as part of my SRV memorial. So far I have Jimmies, B.B. Kings and Double Troubles sigs!! May the music live forever!
Art wrote a great song , Jimmy and the all stars Captured the great emotion of his lyrics not to forget to mention the emotion from the instruments too. Blues at its best!

I´ve never heard 6 (!) excellent individual guitar players playing together that well before. Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, B.B. King, E.C. and Jimmy Vaughan. This is the ultimate 36-string-power. Awesome!
These guys all play together again except Bonnie on EC's crossroads (guitar festival) concert. If you haven't seen it, you will be thrilled. I have worn my DVD out. LOL

LOL
