Man I started on Cello before picking up bass so my view on what I'm supposed to play is a bit weird hahaha =P to me, bass is to add groove to the music, keep everyone in a band in the pocket and add melody when it's needed ;) damn cello fucked me up with that melody part though, my melodies are messed up =P

Łał, jestem pod wrażeniem. Dwa dni temu nabyłem Ibaneza sr305. Ale ta gitara mnie miażdży. Gram głównie kawałki KoRn'u ale też zamierzam nauczyc się czegoś klasycznego. Dla Elizy, Marsz Turecki, czy Marsz Imperialny. In the hail of mountain King polecam. Griega fajnie się gra na basie.

i would like to play bass guitar but i have never played classic or acoustic guitar... so have i to learn it first or...... ?

take for example fieldy, he does not play well on the guitar, but he's one of the best bass player. i think that bass guitar is as good as electric guitar to start adventure with music.

@mojamalanemamane1 I've barely spent more than one hour with an acoustic guitar in my hands, and I've never played an electric, but I have however played bass guitar for six years. You don't need any musical experience to start learning, just pick up an instrument and play! As long as you enjoy it I guarantee you learning won't be difficult. Bass guitar is nothing like a acoustic guitar, it's role in a band is more similar to drums than to a guitar. Bass guitar gives the groove to the band along with the drum and the guitar has a different role, so you dont need to know how to play a guitar to play bass. (but it could be nice if u know at least something to play on guitar)

@mojamalanemamane1 mate, bass isnt like acoustic, the thinnist string are as thick as a strand of spagetti, im not saying this applies to every bass player, but i find its much easier to play if your bigger build.

and from me personaly, ive NEVER played another instrument exept from the skinflute, but otherwise only bass, never had any lessons too, just google songsterr for easy tabs.
