@5191keith 10.80 is FAST for that car. I have owned 2 in my time and they are the best Fords Out there. My GT Convertible was a Blast. People pulling next to me Asking to buy it......lol! Thanks!
This car weighed in at 4200 lbs w/driver! Full interior, air conditioning and power steering! Plus the added weight of the safety equipment. Has since run a best of 9.95, and sees plenty of street time. Also now has an e40d overdrive trans.
For everyone saying this car is heavy, well I guess 3600 ish pounds IS heavy when you're trying to bench press it, lol. In comparison a 72 Torino weighs in at about 4100 lbs mostly due to the fact that it has a fully boxed frame with a 4 link from the factory, not too bad of a trade off IMHO. Just to add insul to injury a 4th gen camaro weighs in at about 4300lbs with the crappy v6 :p
Most 351 Clevelands are dogs. I've owned several.
This poor engine got neutered before it could be developed. Big valves don't work with low compression and high gear ratios. There are some lightning fast C's, but alas... even the Windsor eventually got past it.
They sound tough, but have horrible low end bogs. Its hard to get em rolling, then they come on strong, too late.
If it was such a great engine, people would still be developing parts for it.
Nice car!! way to represent. I have a 71 Torino GT 351c. I know these cars are heavy but they are a mid sized car soooo you don't expect them to be feather weights like the mustang anyways.
Hey man, nice! My dad owns a 71 Torino GT 351c too. He pretty much already handed it over but i just need to fix it up a little. Such a nice lookin car.
True beammark from 1972 forward they got heavy and sluggish, I currently have a 1973 S&H Clone Torino with a 351 Cleveland 2v(serious head work) it knocks 7.90 in the 1/8th with juice, take that engine out and place it in a 1990 model lx pony and shave off 1-1/2 seconds lol
Oh yeah 70-71 Torino was about as heavy a 71-73 Mustang back in the day. With a 351 Cleveland CJ 4 bolt Block, and Cleveland Boss heads that engine will whined up in the neighborhood of 8000 RPM provided you have a very stable valve train intake ports are huge and valves are canted(angled) and you dont have to juice a cleveland engine to make that kinda power. Now i dont know what this guys running in this one, but i've built Ford 351 Clevelands and i know what their capable of

They are still popular in Australia.

but in 72 they went with lower compression heads and they were pigs and actually the 72 4v heads had less stock hp than the 70 2v heads
