  • that was big of you to admit to mistakes, more people should do it , thank you

  • Thanks for poasting. I spent some time in the Ardennes checking out the old battlefields there with some of the American and German veterans of that campaign and it was fascinating.

  • Haha, he must be a Swede..

  • It's bunker, not banker!

  • ...wow these guys are wrong about almost everything in the video...do your research...

  • His mic looks like a female dildo ... the Tarzan perhaps ?

  • @transploft8 and you know this because...?

  • @unrealassasination I ended with a question mark, so it was a guess :D

  • thats a big rabbits foot...................

  • u From Sweden? lol

  • hurtin' in the hurtgen

  • Decent vid but did need to say "bunker" 37 times? We know what he is referring to, he's not standing in front of a tennis court.

  • I don't think you are ready to do battlefield tours!

We went there a few years ago. It is a very interesting place. Around 24,000 Americans alone became casualties. As someone else said, this was overshadowed by the Bulge. If I remember correctly, it took the Americans some time to work out exactly how much C4 they would need to blow the bunkers. We have photos of this area on Flickr (tt24813055) and other war tours of WWI and WWII.

  • god damnit I thought this was just a kick ass diorama from the thumb nail.

  • fix that shit up and it would be the best fort ever! :D

  • Swedish accent <3

  • how this bunker got a strategic position in war?

  • Hehe, lovika vante som mic.skydd ^^

    Truly great video.

  • Unfortunely this battle was really overshadowed by the Battle of the Bulge and virutually forgotten by many aside from the troops, both German and Americans who were there. I follow WWII history quite a bit and even I never heard of it until about 10 years ago when the movie called 'When Triumpants Fade'' came out about it. I think although many consider it as a battle that never should have been fought, it took out several German division that would have part in the Bugle.

  • Why have such a large bunker for one MG? That simply does not make sense,

  • as soon as he started speaking i was like SWEDE!!. nice accent ey, "on the side of the banker" lol. jokes aside.. nice video.

  • @Stalag5 hi there

    i live in maastricht holland

    near the german border

the hurtgen forrest is about 4o minutes driving from here and i like to go and check it out sometime too

got a mate with some metal detectors

you wish to go there u can contact me

  • A lot of concrete for 1 mg surely?

  • Interesting video. One's imagination is left to the last day of it's activity.

  • Does this guy work for Walt Disney in his day job?

  • what will you find when you start digging there!

  • f*** the nazis the kilded both my grandfathers

  • What amazee me is the amount of construction the Germans were able to complete on such an enormous scale. I mean think about the Atlantic wall and all the defences in between there and Germany. Not to mention the other numerous fronts. I've watched a simple concrete driveway replacement with modern technology take several days to complete. I can't imagine how those guys ringed in a nation, plus conquered territories, with similar bunkers and defenses in the relatively short time span.

  • When I was stationed at Karlsruhe, Germany, Gerszewski Barracks {Rhineland Karsern} , 1969....I found two bunkers just north of the post, about 400 yards. If any one would post them with photo's I would be very pleased to see them once more....Thank You, Gerald

  • thanks for the great posting..please do more~!

  • wow, this is really interesting stuff!

i think its amazing how the camouflage is still intact, after all the shells and bullets that were fired at it in an attempt to destroy it. 10/10!

  • This bunker is a Regelbautyp 10. Gruppenunterstand mit angehängtem Kampfraum. Armed with 1 MG 34 (and not holding a canon). The bunker was occupied by 15 soldiers. Size: 9,80 m x 11,10 m. There are 2 gas sluices and 2 rooms. With 3.471 build of which 491 in NRW this is most common build type. The side you are looking at in the video is the back of the bunker.

  • @luuktheman. You are correct and we are indeed wrong in our assumptions in the video. Facts are facts and we were wrong. We have tried to correct this in some subtitles in the video. We obviously did not realise that we were peeking into the bunker from the backside. We know better now.

  • @martinisalive Although the data is not fully correct complements about the video. Did you visit Der Buhlert which is just around the corner.

  • @luuktheman if that is in fact the back then where is the opening in the front when they peek into the bunker?

  • @luuktheman lol, that's a funny comment. XD You could have just translated all the German words, or were you too lazy? (Yeah, I know that the comment is 2 years old)

  • It was great fun working with you guys. I see that the pictures I took came out very nice! Good job on the music too ;)
