I would like to have a job at which I am extremely proficient.. You know enough EXPERTISE to do a job AUTOMATICALLY without thinking twice,,, I think this would bring job satisfaction and success...
WROOOOOOOOOONG!!!!!learning to speak a language fluently depends on how openminded you are and how hard you're trying to do it. If you keep hanging around with friends of your own kind, who definately dont speak it fluently ofcourse you wont speak it sluently as well....duh....everyone can learn to use a language fluently, its just how you want it to be hahahaha i only speak english?? lol where did you get that from, i speak english french german chinese vietnamese japanese and dutch........
I would not say that a restaurant that is Kosher is in itself worse or better than a non-Kosher restaurant. All ethnic restaurants use particular products from their culture. You wont find schmaltz in The French Laundry but it does not mean that TFL is not an outstanding restaurant. Hung is technical outstanding, and he most certainly already "paid his dues". It is not like it is a vegetarian restaurant hehe
@jsbst18 - Kosher isn't ethnic though - Jewish food would be ethnic (Eastern European or Mediterranean depending), but only the ingredients make something Kosher.
Good job Hung! But that restaurant must pay you a lot of money... a kosher restaurant? C'mon you deserve better than that! I guess we all gotta start somewhere and pay our dues.. I understand. It's just that a good chef cannot be truly great if he is restricted by lack of choice on ingredients. So get outta that place fast!
to be fair - although the restrictions make kosher food hard to be as good as well not kosher, the restrictions do force a chef to be more creative. its a challenge - he may enjoy it.
And one more thing: The word "carpaccio" is not pronounced as "Car-par-chee-yo". Even those ignorant people at the Food Network keep on mis-pronounce the word over and over again, on national television!
Look, the word is more like "Cah-pa-cho". If you believe me, go ask any native Italian speakers.
Nothing personal to Mr. Hung here, but he said he's trained as a French chef, guess what? He can't even pronounce crème brûlée correctly, for crying out loud!
I am sick and tired of people(especially Americans) keep on saying "Crim-Brulay"! But in actuality the word is more like "Crram-Bruyay".
The "BrÛ" sound is an unique French sound, it's just hard to describe how it is, so if you would just humbly ask any native French speaker, he/she would probably demostrate it for you.
@CT2507 Someone commented that Hung wasn't pronouncing the French foods correctly. I'm saying that doesn't matter and that he can cook the actual foods well.
@mongomondomongo its important u know how to pronounce a dish correctly, especially when ur a topchef, its like ur a whineseller when u dont know what ur selling.....
@Anf26Hollister well, having accent is not something you can really help unless you learn that language when you're still a kid. Even you know you not pronouncing it correctly but your tongue might not work the way you want. I guess you will never understand this if you're only speaking english. I personally speak 5 different language and i believe Hung is doing a great job here.
@nerdypreppyemo yeah that would be awesome as hell, but that must be at least season 17 or something and that can take a shit load of money just for casting...

@mongomondomongo no, u said:
"The important thing is he can cook it better than most French people".
so i ask, why is it important that he can do that?
...if it is even possible not to be french and cook french food better than the french. which i seriously doubt.
