Bad part is that they took a lot of good vehicles off the road and the government (our tax dollars) overpaid for them. Many people that can't afford a new car but really drive clunkers that are unsafe, burn oil, & leak fluids should have been able to exchange their clunker for one of these good, safe, reliable vehicles. That would have been "greener" and taken a true clunker off the road.

@73pontiac hey, i tried catching it with a pan underneath, but its kinda hard to predict where shits gonna go flying out of the block. we started using two pans under each vehicle after this. out of 130 cars, there were only about 9 or so stains on the lot from where we missed the pans. but, that problem coulda been taken care of all together by simply not makin us destroy the motors. let someone else have them

It was the former car owner's free choice to get rid of his car for a trade-in. It's not like the government mandated it - he decided to do it on his own; free choice. The former car owner could have sold it or given it away to someone else and chose not to. I think that the former owner has some culpability in that- they were in the proverbial driver's seat.... Ok, let's think: Obama says they need to improve their in-market by selling NEW cars for people in the US. Ok, now tell me one thing: who earns with that? They sold lots of cars inside the country but almost 50% of the cars weren't even american cars! So, let's think the other side: you need to scrap all of those cars you said is "old". By scrapping it you polute at least 60% more! So you Obama are selling cars for the behalf of the... POLUTION? C'mon this was BULLSHIT!!!

Dude I would get another fuckin job. There's no way I could do this when so many people need good running cars but cant afford new ones (like me, for instance.)My conscience would bother me. What pisses me off is that there are a lot of people in this country that could have really used that car, people that cant get good jobs because they have no transportation. These should have been donated to needy people, or at LEAST taken to salvage and then at least the parts could have been used to help other people keep their car on the road. I understand the reason for this govt program but the WASTE.. is just shameful.

@dnahulvey it was either do the job, or get fired. if i didnt do it, they would had someone else do it. the government required the engines to be dissabled, so my opinion wasnt worth losing my job for. atleast i filmed it so people would realize what happened when they traded their cars in.

@elitecssplayer thats the big secret. most other dealers would do their cars the proper way and add sodium silicate and hold the engine at 2500 RPM. but that was no fun. so we atleast made it interesting

Everyone thank Fucktard Obama for starting this program. That car with in perfect condition and it was destroyed because it was a "Clunker".
I have a '92 Cherokee that i could only afford because it was OLD, and here's our fucking president ordering the destruction of "old" cars that Teenagers could happily drive. @1976MUSTANG teenagers?? how about 30 year old people with families and mortgages. i always look for clean, cheap cars. the older vehicles are easily to repair. right now im driving a 91 cavalier and i really dont care simply becuase its paid for and i can maintain it for a reasonable sum of cash, cheap. its just transportation. not worth buying some POS for 20 grand that wont be worth 4 grand in 10 years. thats huge hit in the wallet

@videoaddict2008 thats the american way of thinking. we see a car that was being driven faithfully everyday, transporting a family to their destinations, and say, "man, this thing gets less than 18 MPG, off with its head!" evidently one slight little mistake gets capital punishment in the automotive world. but yet its OK for those Nissan Leafs to leave their owners stranded in the middle of the road. no problems there.
