I was only 8 years old then but remember this sequence well. probably one of the best made sequences ever developed for television. and without CGI graphics. that fact that it remains so memorable in my mind and probably only saw it once or twice speaks to how well it was made and that mostly today these types of sequences are rarely used.. perhaps they should be.
@65wiseman I knew at the time that they were NOT the good old days (good God above--first the hippies, then the polyester!), but they were bigger, brighter and more fun than now. The 'days' are still the same, but I'm older and it used to be so much less work appreciating the wonder of all this. I'm still loving it, though! God willing, I'll never close my eyes to all the beauty of this spectacle of Life.
RIP Dick Tufeld 1927-2012.

Burt Bacharach, Peignot, 70's digital graphics--these guys had it all!
This series was my all-time favorite. A fun and very imaginative movie every week, stretching across all genres. Don't know how they did it.

There are times when I wish that I could jump right into this screen and land in 1972. I never would have thought it then but those were the days.

These films were very well written and cast. So much of the stuff today is just crap. 170 channels of pure crap.
