The car did 8.0s and 8.1s the next time out (86-87mph)... Haven't been back out in this car in quite some time, and it's got a lot more power now. I had my RS4 out there the last time, though. I've got video from that posted here, too! It only did 8.5-8.6@82-83mph, though.
LMAO in the last post you said "You would also see that I have alot of respect for other people and their vehicles even if they aren't evos" than in the previous post you said "That being said a modded evo and sti with 2k in it should be kicking your peice of shit across any track... anywhere."
Don't bullshit me. I know that was a loaded question to begin with. I know STIs and Evos can be made faster for cheaper. If I spent my entire time on the track, I might have considered them. However, no amount of money invested into any Subaru or Mitsubishi will make it as pleasant to put 20k miles/year on as this S4. Go back to your internet racing, troll.
Never got it dyno'd with the stock turbos. The mods were *supposedly* good for 350bhp and about 380 ft-lbs @ the crank. 22% loss puts me around 275awhp. I honestly have no idea though, as it's all speculation.
yer a beter driver than every person you raced, you pulled consistant times and 60ft times. that evo should have smoked you off the line, but obvously the dude couldnt drive so props to you!
Thanks for the compliments. Though, I don't think it's fair to say the Evo should have *smoked* me off the line. My 60's weren't all that great (I have done 1.7s consistently before at LACR), and clearly my trap speeds were a lot higher than the Evo's... we were only about .1-.2s apart in the 60', but I was .5-.6s quicker down the 1/8th. I've got more power and gobs more torque, so it shouldn't be a surprise :)
Cool, I love the new GTI. Will you be running one of the new big turbo kits from APR, GIAC/VF, Revo? If you're in SD, you should come out to a SoCalEuro meet.
rite now im running stock til i get sum money and get a lil break off of school. wheres this socaleuro meet at im all in and im hopefully gonna try to put on aprs
Since when is chip + exhaust "really modified"? The Evo had at least exhaust... and that STI needed a lot more help. Yes, Evos can be made faster easier than S4s. What's your point? There are plenty of daily-driven S4s in the 11s that you can still feel comfortable taking a date or client out in.
the only way you could warm up your tires with out screwing up your clutch is by having a couple of passed down the track. try to launch it at 4-41/2 rpms anything and the clutch will hate you lol. just continue what your doing
i launched my s4 "once" at 6 grand just to try it out didnt spin once even with esp off ... so trying to burnout before a race thinking your getting better 60 foot times is retarded on your behalf, people only do it if they have rwd or fwd cars to get a better grip but in "your" case you have an awd so its no need ... and the info on my s4 its a 01.5 s4 with the same setup you have minus the clutch and i have asp tru-dual
Maybe you had stickier rubber, or a stickier surface, or less torque. I'm running cheapy Kumho MXs with 225 width. They're good for what they are, but not fantastic. I spin all the way through first with ESP off on that track launching at ~4500rpm, and my best 60's were in the 1.7 range. I was also on 110 octane with the XR file, so putting down a good deal more torque than pump gas/X-file.
i have some shitty mastercraft winter tires, listen all im tryin to say is u dont have to warm up your tires at all, u should be able to murder on launch and without burning out...cause u look like a fool tryin to warm up ur tires on the burnout box...dont get me wrong not tryin to piss any1 off but no need at allevery1time i race the s4 i never try to do that where i can potentialy harm the car tryin to warm up the tires...i just line up, rev and go
Who cares what I look like? At this track, if my tires are cold, I don't hook up as well. End of story. Would you like to come watch next time and see for yourself?
If you watch my videos, I don't do it every time. I'll do it the first couple runs, or if the car has been sitting a while between runs.
Thanks for trying to help, but I know what works for my car at that "track". Traction is a serious issue there.
My 60's were consistently quicker once my tires were warm. This is in a parking lot so the track is not well prepped. My clutch is a ClutchMasters Stage 4 that's capable of handling far more power than I'm putting down now. If you're going to make asinine comments, at least use proper grammar.
two days later I ran a 13.1 @ 104.4 at LA County Raceway in Palmdale, CA. Corrected for altitude it's a 12.8. Corrected for the 6300' DA that day it's a 12.6. My best 1/8 mile that day was an 8.4@84mph, and that was with a 1.7 60'.
Supercharged E46 M3s put down 13.3s that day, and a bunch of AMG cars were in the mid-high 13s. LACR is a s-l-o-w track.
Next time @ Qualcomm I'll be running straight 110 with a little more boost (20psi) and lower tire pressure to try and get 1.6 60' times.
I had a 20V 1.8t A4 before the S4, but didn't bother changing my user name.
twentyvalveb5 1 year ago
LOL at you putting 20valve before your name, its not like a 20valve turbo 5cylinder s4. Nice car though.

Golly gee willickers! I don't know, but they must have been. I mean, there's nothing faster than a modded EVO or STI, right? Wowee!
*yawn*
The scoobie appeared to be stock, the Evo appeared to have exhaust. I don't know anything about the cars or their owners, so I can't say for certain.

Nice runs, should run mid 12's in 1/4 mile. Way to spank all that rice.

your reaction time sucks.
wafizarudin 3 years ago
Thanks for the compliment! Ass. FWIW, this was my 2nd time out to the strip, and a .500 is a perfect reaction time on this tree (<.5 is a red light).
I agree it's not great, but I was more concerned about getting the launch down and getting the best 60' I could at this miserably prepped track.
twentyvalveb5 3 years ago
Dude, you have a AWD, whats a prepped track gonna do?
Im sure you don't have much wheel spin.
Well the second time i ran at the track my reaction was .001
wafizarudin 3 years ago
Alright internet racer, you win.

Well, it was a good video i enjoyed it. I was just saying your reaction time sucks, meaning hey get those times down.
