Song Links, Vol. 2 [Fellside] has two great versions of this song...one by Bill Whaley & Dave Fletcher and the American equivalent [The Simple Ploughboy] by Bruce Molsky. If memory serves me the liner notes mention that even tho there were no press gangs in the U.S., this song still survived its' journey in a modified version.
