@tuddyfruity4 It just shows you are closed minded and believe in the facist ideology that it is ok to dictate how other people live their private lives...other than that I guess nothing

'm not so sure. To "loathe" sounds like a fixation. More like overcompensation for feelings of inadequacy due to conflicting, latent homosexual tendencies. Sorry, the "anti's" are usually the one's bitter that they weren't invited to the parade. Seems like they short-circuit from sexual repression. Go on Rick, put it in your mouth; it's sooo you.
Is it me or does it seem like these creepy religious zealots always want to impose their will over others in some way? Overcompensating behavior is common among those conflicted and not self-aware. The classic Homophobe scenario: Rick Santorum. I feel kinda embarrassed for people that support and think like him. They are in denial. It's a joke that Santorum got this far, more like a statement. The Tea Party should make their own state in Lebanon, like Israel. Just plop right down in Beirut.
According to Bill Maher, Santorum thinks about gay sex more than a gay person does lmao. Anybody that anti-gay, is probably gay. It always seems to work out like that. Remember Rent Boy? I have a friend who's VERY anti-gay, so I'm sure he's gay.
@contacter I'm not so sure. Go on Rick, put it in your mouth; it's sooo you.
santorum (unrelated topic: google it) is an effect, not a cause. it's more disturbing that he resonates within the mainstream of the republican party with his medieval ethic. i seriously can't believe homosexuality continues to be an issue, let alone an *important* issue.
So Ron Paul isn't 100% against same sex marriage, he wants the government out of marriage in general. It isn't the governments business who you sleep with, or marry. He wants to move marriage back to the churches, you know back to that separation of church and state our founding fathers were so proud of. Marriage is a civil rights issue and a religious issue, best idea for the government is to get out of doing it and leave it to the churches.
No I don't think Fox News is hiding anything. Any true Christian would be anti-gay, because the Bible strictly says that homosexuality is an abomination to God.
Fox News has little credibility beyond bankable republican voters. So, no, Fox News isn't hurting anyone with this story using the laughable term "targeting" to describe the attention directed at Santorum on this issue.
Fox News does their best to "tip-toe" around gay issues, even when it's a big story. They are not stupid. They know it's one of the most divisive, social relevance of today. Folks on the right are starting to come around on the marriage thing, but not too many.
Mr. Santorum doesn't have a clue about reality. Homosexuals are a distinct breed of nature and not "sinners". He must get his mind away from these archaic Biblical notions of propriety. His twisted Christian "morality" makes him a menace to this countryas it was founded on the separation of church and state. If your your religion forbids birth control or legal abortion fine; but leave the rest of us the hell alone!
@plune420 Give me a break! He looks like a decent guy. He gets glitter bombed and is still nice about it. I don't agree with same sex marriage either. I know gay people, they are wonderful people but they should never be considered "married".
@lovestosing1979 What is wrong with same sex marriage? Does it impact your life in a negative way? Highly doubtful. Why do you want to inhibit someone elses right to marry the person they love? But regardless of that, who gives the government the right to tell us who we can marry? Santorum doesn't believe in the separation between church and state either. He says "we need to change our laws to 'god's' laws"
@plune420 That sounds frightening. The Xtian god has a long history of changing its mind at the drop of a hat. If we were running by that rulebook the legal standards could change on a weekly basis.
And that's not even getting into good old stuff like Exodus 21:7-11, which is just creepy.
@lovestosing1979 Really? Why not? What is wrong with two consenting adults getting married regardless of gender? But regardless of your opinion. Santorum wants to make a constitutional ammendment barring it. I think not only is it repressing freedom and civil liberties, but since when is it the government's business to dictate which human adults can or cannot get married?
@plune420 Goog job, now you have just offended all the 7 billion asses in the world by calling Santorum one, dont you have any respects for peoples asses?
Santorum is a bigot, no if, ands or buts about it, he's a total and complete bigot; it's not just homophobia. If I recall correctly he got in trouble about a decade ago for his ties to the American Nazi Party and the KKK, I find it odd that no one has revived that particular skeleton from his closet.
I'm so glad he's fallen behind in the poles and I pray he wakes up and step down from the race, America don't need this kind of person in the White House!
Being a non-US American & constantly hearing the criticism against Fox news, I wonder if there are similar platforms like LiberalViewer criticizing so-called "liberal" TV outlets. Because I think, that even though these short videos both entertaining & educational, I of course would like to hear an equally well prepaired speaker from the other side to learn more about the truth.
From what I can understand from reading the comments your just as bias as Fox News. And really is there any news on earth that is unbiased? The answer is no, they're all bias from personal beliefs to life views.
So really the question is which news source is closer to your world view? If you can't find one you like, why not go and make one yourself? And stop all the Trolling.
@dirkdelshire No, Npr, and cnn arent biased. albeit cnn is a little bit of a joke with all of its fluff these days.
THe diffrerence is The other guys post all the stories in their entirety, while fox makes adjustments both large and miniscule to glorify their audiances biases. Or if the story is too hard to swallow they don't even report it
1st - Fox is catering to its viewers. They all KNOW Santorum's frothy beliefs. Don't confuse Fox Speak like "targeting" with "misinforming."
2nd - This question is more valid. The Republican MEDIA, not necessarily the Republican constituency, has a very anti-gay view point and would love a Constitutional Amendment against Gay Marriage and a reinstatement of DADT ... and every other civil liberty gays have gotten ... ever.
That's the media though. You'd have to poll Republican voters themselves.
Ron Paul fails to realize that public opinion take a long time to change but those things happen FASTER when people have the opportunity to see that people who are different than them in some miniscule way are JUST THE SAME. That's why the same-sex marriage states are a great example because it shows the world has not ended and people are happy. THAT'S what changes public opinion, not waiting and having people suffer in the meantime. Repealing Jim Crow wouldnt do what the CIVIL RIGHTS ACT does.
@tytheeman20 Ya know, I get that you may disagree with the guy, but it seems like you've got a real hard-on for this guy for some reason; which is weird, because there are a lot of much worse politicians out there to get riled up over.
@saberswordsmen1 No I don't have a hard on for this guy. But, I just find it weird that so many people..and you know there are thousands of people on the internet who keeps mentioning Ron Paul as if he's the best candidate. He may be the best on the Republican side but I just wouldn't support him up against Obama. I guess it does get on my nerves a bit, I'm just trying to explain why I think the way I do. He doesn't support gay rights fully and I'm baffled someone believes it.
@tytheeman20 He supports gay rights fully enough: That the government should have no part. Obama continues to infringe on your liberties; escalation of the drug war to worse than under Bush, NDAA, bailing out the rich, etc. Yes, against that, I'll take Paul.
@saberswordsmen1 Libertarianism sounds good in theory. When applied, you'll find we will go back 100 years in economics and civil rights. You can't just sit back and let things work themselves out. People take advantage, oppress people they don't like, etc. Libertarianism does not help better anything.
@tytheeman20 So, you *are* contending that CRA laws are the only thing currently holding back waves of racism? Really? Look at our economy over the last 100 years; stuck in a permanent boom/bust cycle, no stability, paying debt with more debt... it's unsustainable, no matter how noble it is. It is the pretense of knowledge to assume we can fix everything, and that action is always better than inaction.
Ron Paul likes to say ahhh well public opinion nowadays wouldn't allow people to segregate their businesses and still be successful but, what about back in the 60s?? If there was no legislation to demand the changes for black people, it could've taken DECADES for things to change and public opinion only changes when there are mechanisms that allow people to see change in action LIKE THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT or education. People saw that it wasn't horrible for black people to be in the same place.
Just one correction: Ron Paul is not opposed to same sex marriage. That is to say Paul's political belief is that government should have no say in the personal choices of consenting adults. He addressed this matter on the Tonight Show recently, I believe.
@CarlWood He just thinks gay men with AIDS should die because they made their bed and they should lie in it. Classy. He doesn't say anything about smoker's dying of lung cancer though. Or obese people left to die becuase they ate too many fat foods. He just thinks everyone should be left to fend for themselves. Screw government help (intervention) and elect him to run the government he wants to destroy
@john48martin Talk about propaganda. In your first statement you managed to tie together gay rights, AIDS, and medicare. I tip my hat to you, sir. I tell you what though - I watch/read a lot of coverage and I seem to have missed the article where Dr. Paul says, "let all the gays with AIDS die".
@john48martin I just googled that video clip. In it, Ron Paul in NO WAY suggests letting people die. I might add that the crown is NOT applauding such an idea either. The idea that is being proposed by Dr. Paul - and the idea the audience likes - is the idea of taking responsibility for one's self. Unfortunatly, your video clip was cut short before Dr. Paul could elaborate. Anyhow, even edited as is, NOWHERE in that clip does Dr. Ron Paul suggest letting ANYone die.
"NOWHERE in that clip does Dr. Ron Paul suggest letting ANYone die"
- the only alternative he has ever purposed is to get help from churches and charities (which makes no sense given how largely ineffective they currently are, how the hell are they going to cope with greater demand???)
The American healthcare system isnt working, Ron Paul's system has all the elements that have caused it to fail plus a few extras.
@john48martin I might add that if you are suggesting that YOU need the government to take care of you so you won't die, then you need to get your shit together, and stop leeching off of society around you. I mean no disrespect in saying that.
@CarlWood Everyone needs the government to survive. Go fight your own war with your own homemade bombs and build your own streets to get to your job which must pay pretty darn good so you can homeschool your own kids and keep them out of society's schools. Anyone who thinks like you is so ignorant and selfish they should stop leeching off the rest of us. No disrespect in saying that . Buy an island
@CarlWood people need government to keep them alive. that is why you pay taxes to have firefighters and police officers; these are put in place so you dont have to call private contractors when an emergency arises. People don't choose what socio economic class they are born into and thus cant choose what schools they can go to because the better schools are in richer neighborhoods where more revenue is gotten from taxes. if you want to talk about leeching off the government look into tax breaks
@CarlWood Who's this Santorum look alike? Are you saying that if a women is raped and gets pregnant, and chooses to keep the baby, even though she can't afford it (Santorum doesn't believe in abortion), she shouldn't rely on the government for the bill for child delivery? What about feeding that "gift from god" as Santorum calls it? Is she just supposed to let it die?
Typical conservative, they love you while you're a fetus, but as soon as you pop out you can go die for all they care
@CarlWood He's got small eyes, a narrow face and big nose. That's a bad combination to be liked physically. So he faces an uphill battle to make people like him.
@CarlWood Right...so a mentally disabled man or a homeless drug addict relying on welfare and Medicaid should just "get [their] shit together"...Fucking genius why didn't anyone else think of that?!
@CarlWood The funny part is that the writer of that article is unknown. When Ron Paul asked the company to show the name of the writer, or other news asked them to show who is the writer, the company doesn't even know who that is. I never know a company can suddenly slip someone they don't know to write a claim of someone else.
I honestly do not believe that Santorum believes a real "Jesus" actually exists like he pretends. If he did then there is NO way he would be as hateful and bigoted as he is. I mean even if there really was a Jesus, I just picture Rick getting to the gates and Jesus coming out and saying to Peter, "Oh I got this one, take a break. Okay, so Rick, you really thought I would be for those things you preached? Really? Me? The middle eastern hippie?!! Have fun down below."
@VITRUVIANMANNOLA You'd be surprised how many people truly believe in such a truly perverted form of Christianity. Most people listen to preachers rather than actually look at what he said. People don't realize that, especially back in the day, many Christians were staunchly liberal and progressives; the conservative evangelical thing has only fairly recently become the face of Christianity.
Truthfully, Washington D.C. is one of the "gayest" places in the country... The HBO documentary "Outrage" highlights the hypocricy of the "conservative right" and the politicans who fervently work on passing anti-gay legislation while leading "closeted lives". Ex-senator Larry Craig and former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevy being two of the many highlighted... Homosexuality and abortion are two of the biggest "wedge issues" Republicans use to secure that "white, midwest, christian" vote.
That actually is not true. All the candidates are not against same-sex marriage. Ron Paul has specifically said he feels the federal government should not be involved in "business of marriage at all", and that it should be up to states to decide. Not being pro-gay marriage is not the same as being anti-gay marriage. I'm normally a fan of your videos, but that doesn't make sense.
@saberswordsmen1 Agreed, I was looking for a comment like this. I was about to say how this video is hypocritical saying that Fox News is bias and doesn't show all the facts... when the video failed to mention that Ron Paul supported Same-Sex Marriage.
@saberswordsmen1 Ron Paul doesn't have the balls to fight for rights that are due to people. In terms of property rights, he would allow businesses to discriminate not only against black people, but gays, hispanics, whoever they wanted. Ron Paul would allow gay people to continue to be fired from their jobs solely based on their identity and has voted against the Employment Non-Discrimination Act for years. Ron doesn't stand for minority rights...he sits back and watches.
@tytheeman20 Completely incorrect. He is, as far as I know (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), the *only* candidate who has stepped up and said that the current drug laws and how they are applied, along with the death penalty, disproportionately affect minorities. Including Obama. It's not that Libertarians don't *want* the things government tries to legislate; it's that they think they do a horrible job at it. Judging by where we are, they may be right.
@saberswordsmen1 Sorry, both examples I gave came from his own mouth and record. He voted against the Employment Non-Discrimination Act that we've been trying to pass for decades so gay people won't be able to be fired solely because of who they are. And, Ron Paul explained that he wouldn't force people to desegregate their businesses, etc. because it's their rights to property. Thats why he'd vote against the Civil Rights Act. He may not be a bigot but he doesn't DEMAND rights.
@tytheeman20 Still missing the point. The reason some Libertarians oppose the CRA is that they believe the government does a poor job at solving a noble goal. It's not that they don't agree with the goal, they just disagree on method. And yes, they believe a person's right to say who should have access to their property should cover any reason. Discrimination is perfectly legal in other classes; sports teams, hair color, fashion sense... only certain kinds are protected.
@saberswordsmen1 I don't know what you're getting at but sports teams, hair color, fashion sense is different than discrimination based on sexual orientation. Sexual orientation is the same as skin color and gender. I don't have "a hard on for this guy" I find it weird that so many people keep mentioning Ron Paul as if he's great. He may be on the Republican side but I wouldn't support him up against Obama. He doesn't support gay rights fully and I'm baffled someone believes it.
@tytheeman20 Why is it any worse for someone to not hire you because you have darker skin than if you have darker hair? For that matter, if one doesn't want to pay you money, should they really need a reason? Would it matter? Can you really prevent intentions? Might it just push the racism underground and make it a taboo subject? How can this be effective? These are the sorts of questions Libertarians might ask; disagreeing with the conclusion is OK, but not the goal.
@saberswordsmen1 How is it supporting rights by saying they'll get it eventually? That's not support. And he's voted against it. Nobody discriminates against hair lol...the problem with Libetarianism is that there are so many hypotheticals, yet the solution is always to let people do whatever they want. If people were able to do that, basically all minorities would not have good jobs. This society favors white men if you didn't notice. Libertarianism didn't make it more equal.
@tytheeman20 I never said "getting rights eventually" was acceptable. I think the objection many Libertarians have to those laws are simply the rights for people to choose who they wish to associate with, hire, whatever, unfettered, for any reason, restricted. What favors white men are our restrictive laws: Drug laws, capital punishment, etc, are all applied to minorities more harshly; Libertarians, not Dems or Reps, want to see an end to that real discrimination.
@saberswordsmen1 Ron Paul knows damn well that most of his pro-conservative states will ban it anyways, thus he doesnt have to say that he wants to ban it on a federal level. "leaving it up to the states" is extremely silly. Its the same as saying """"We arent allowed to discriminate against anyone on a federal level, but we are allowed to act like fascists on a state level"":
@gulbirk Be that as it may, that's sort of the system the Constitution was meant to implement; let each state run how those people want it to be run. The more localized power is, the more likely people can make intelligent choices based on their unique needs, rather than a blanket by a bureaucrat hundreds of miles away. Anyway, the point simply was that Paul is not against gay marriage; what other people would choose is neither here nor there.
@saberswordsmen1 Yes it is. Personally he is against it (he has stated that), and he knows that on a state level it will easily be banned in many states. Thats anti-rights. Its GREAT to allow something on a federal level, because then the states cant act like fascists.
@MegaBlueZOMBIE As I said, there are plenty of arguments to be made that this is in fact the case. That isn't the point. The point is that saying Ron Paul is against gay marriage is patently false; he has repeatedly stated he is in favor of states deciding the issue. That != anti-gay-marriage. Again, it's the misconception that if one is not pro, one must be anti. It's a fallacy of bifurcation.
@saberswordsmen1 Evidently he is against gay marriage, because he is a strict constitutionalist, a christian(and a creationist) yet wants to let states vote on a civil rights issue even though the constitution says that is not allowed which means he either doesn't think gay marriage is a civil rights issue because you aren't born gay and he must either think it's a choice or he DOES know it's a civil rights matter but doesn't care because he is a christian.
@saberswordsmen1 What are you talking about? This is out of Ron Paul's mouth, if 95% of the population want seperate water fountains between blacks and whites, it doesn't matter, it's a civil rights issue, this applies to many things, and the debate going on between democrats and republicans is if gay marriage is a civil rights issue or not, it clearly is, and anyone who says otherwise only says so because they let their religion interfere with their politics.
@saberswordsmen1 And another reason republicans think it's not a civil rights issue is because they think it's just a choice, so the fact that Ron Paul does not think gay rights is a civil rights issue shows he is bigoted(obviously not as much as the rest of the morons). Don't get me wrong, I would like Ron Paul for president(although a republican in office would fuck up the supreme court for an extremely long time) but I don't agree with him on all of his issues, as do many.
@MegaBlueZOMBIE That is not bigotry. At worst, it's ignorance of biological homosexuality, not a prejudice against it. Personally, I don't think it matters whether or not it is choice or inherent, and I don't think Paul thinks so either. Consenting adults should choose what they want to do, and this is consistent with Libertarian principles. But states have always regulated marriage, so saying we should continue that while stepping out Federally is also consistent.
@saberswordsmen1 States have always regulated inter-racial marriage too, but then they stopped, it's time to stop for gay marriage too, and catch up with the rest of the western world, it's 2012, gay marriage is plain and simple a civil rights issue, yes he isn't bigoted against homosexual that was a bad choice of words, but he is not just ignorant either, he is voluntarily ignorant and it's an issue he lets his religious beliefs seep in and interfere with it.(and abortion)
@MegaBlueZOMBIE Again, I don't disagree. I was vehemently against Prop 8 when it was going on here. My point was just that he isn't anti-gay marriage; nothing more. Arguing whether his ideas are good is a whole 'nother matter.
@saberswordsmen1 Well in my opinion him being a strict constitutionalist and going against that so gay marriage doesn't get passed shows he is anti-gay marriage but since he is a libertarian he can't outright ban it. I mean DOMA, the thing stopping gay marriage from being passed is plain and simple unconstitional and the only ones against it being reappealed are the ones that think America is a christian nation, did you know he also voted against legalising sodomy?
@MegaBlueZOMBIE AFAIK, DOMA simply means states may choose not to recognize a gay marriage in another state, which is in line with Libertarian principles, agree or disagree. I'd like to see proof of him voting against legalizing sodomy; that sounds very much outside of his usual ideology. That sounds like an out of context spun factoid to me, honestly. I could, of course, be wrong, but I don't believe everything I hear on the Internet. :p
@MegaBlueZOMBIE Ah, I think I found what you mean, and as I suspected, it isn't what you say. From Wikipedia: he stated his *opposition* to what he called ridiculous sodomy laws, but expressed his fear that federal courts were grossly violating their role of strictly interpreting the Constitution, and felt that they were setting a dangerous precedent of what he characterized as legislating from the bench, by declaring privacy in regards to sexual conduct a constitutional right.
@saberswordsmen1 Ah I was wrong about the sodomy laws, I also heard them on the internet on numerous websites which also must of took them out of context, but the reason I am so passionate about this is because I was deported 1 and a half years ago from America after being with my partner for 2 years, I had to cross the border from Canada numerous times to renew my visa(Ireland gets infinite number of 90 day visas) and was rejected and deported-cont
@saberswordsmen1 -cont and the only way I can get back to my partner, the person whom I love who I currently only skype and IM with is if DOMA is ruled unconstitutional(Ron Paul supports DOMA). If we were a heterosexual couple it would be absolutely no problem, we would be married and i'd have my green card for a year now, so legalising gay marriage in some states isn't enough to get me back and has broken up a lot of families, some with adopted kids also.
@MegaBlueZOMBIE Again, I don't disagree with what you're saying... what I disagree with is the characterization that he is ANTI-gay marriage and a bigot. Both of those characterizations are patently false. As to whether his method is right, is of course much more debatable.
@saberswordsmen1 Well I am being discriminated against for being gay and would still be under Ron Paul since he supports DOMA, I think anyone who supports DOMA is bigoted, I mean he says he doesn't think the federal government should be interfering with marriage and it's definitions so why does he support DOMA?
@MegaBlueZOMBIE My understanding of DOMA is the opposite. If Libertarians believe that states should have the right to regulate this sort of thing, it follows that one must support a bill like DOMA, which protects those rights of states. Again, disagreeing with it is fine, but it isn't bigoted; it's in line with Libertarian principles of state rights. I think we're just going to have to disagree here. That's a subjective opinion that he's anti-gay marriage, so my OP stands.
@saberswordsmen1 Your understanding of DOMA is the opposite? Gay people aren't being discriminated with DOMA in place you are saying? I was deported because of it, and there are many other families that were also which is why it's making it's way up to the supreme court because many families have been broking up over it and are being deprived of equal rights that heterosexual couples have, as a libertarian he believes in personal freedom for everyone, except gays I guess.
Yeah...this guy is running for president, but doesn't know to take off his hat while indoors. Reminds me of people who wear sun glasses at night or talk WAY too loud on their cellphone.
Honestly LiberalViewer, I hate to say this, but i don't think it was deception at all. i think FOX and all who watch it are fully aware and worst of all, comfortable with all of the horrendous and disgusting gay-bashing that the network and the candidates it supports engage in.
Not only do they know about Santorum's track record, they support it. Because they are all so full of hate for lifestyles that aren't boring and "traditional."
Ron Paul isn't against gay marriage. He is against ALL government controlled marriage. His beliefs as a Christian does not support gay marriage, but has stated (and would never) ban gay marriage in America. He believes all Americans, no matter what orientation, should be given the same civil benefits. Let the Christian/Jewish/Islam/Mormon/etc establishments deal with their own marriage the way they want to.
@Furoar in the same way that a federal government would not be allowed to limit these civil liberties under Paul. If a state were to ban gay marriage or civil unions, lawsuits against the state could win. Also, these anti-gay states would suffer as people could freely move to the states that have gay marriage like Vermont, NY, NH, and Iowa. So saying RP is against gay-marriage because he won't federally legalize it is like saying he's pro-animal abuse because he won't federalize a law against it
Stop the hate! Im mexican and those republicans running in the primaries are some of the worst racist ive seen. I cant imagine what a gay would feel about them. Especiall about santorum!
There is no such thing as gay rights in the republican party, besides Ron Paul that is. Bachmann said gays have the right to marry, just to the opposite sex.
@AcoraZ3RO Actually he is a lot more accepting of atheism in comparison to the other republican candidates; search "Ron Paul on religion and government" first video.
Hey there! I'm the ForeverAlonePrick, a fairly new vlogger on YouTube. It's almost impossible to get any real form of traffic on this site anymore. If you'd like to give me a chance, please click on my channel and check out my videos. Thanks!
Rick Santorum is a jackass pure and simple. He got his undies in a wad because a student confronted him and brought up the DSM, which he scoffed at because it has to do with psychology. Sure, he scoffs at it unless he is using it himself. I think the DSM would say he suffers from an inflated sense of self-importance, narcissism personality disorder and projection. He is afraid. He is no victim and now the citizens of PA have screwed themselves when they got rid of Arlen Specter for him.
i like your videos. these are some of the intellectual videos people should be involving themselves, but instead they continue to let the egotistic F heads of mainstream media fill there heads with "facts" and not do the research themselves. i commend you for innovation, and balls, but truth be told there is one candidate for GOP who is a true libertarian, and believes strongly for liberty, and sound money. Dr. Ron Paul. Do the research! Infowars.com
What the hell did you want Fox News to do? Play the 'obey your liberal overlords' card and rip on a republican primary participant?
Pleh, liberal slavers. . . .if you don't agree with them they rip on you.
Heres another excellent question, why in god's name are you ninnies concerned about being pounded in the ass by another male while the country is in a economic crisis? Typical.
@Scotish223332 Actually, Liberals have been focused on the Economy, jobs, unemployment, social security, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. Republicans have been focused on anti-abortion, anti-gay rights, forcing Christianity on other people and reaffirming our national motto as "In God We Trust." Not hard to figure out who has the priorities of the nation correct.
It's ALL about "proper" framing of statements (to subliminally direct a person's thought to ward a desired position) - ON BOTH SIDES.
The sooner everyone starts to realize that it's not just the "other side" that's doing it - the better.

Shinhaquro 2 weeks ago
@lovestosing1979 Really? Why not? What is wrong with two consenting adults getting married regardless of gender? But regardless of your opinion.

Unfortunatly, your video clip was cut short before Dr. Paul could elaborate. Anyhow, even edited as is, NOWHERE in that clip does Dr. Ron Paul suggest letting ANYone die.

Ron doesn't stand for minority rights...he sits back and watches.
tytheeman20 1 month ago
@tytheeman20 Completely incorrect. He is, as far as I know (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), the *only* candidate who has stepped up and said that the current drug laws and how they are applied, along with the death penalty, disproportionately affect minorities. Including Obama. It's not that Libertarians don't *want* the things government tries to legislate; it's that they think they do a horrible job at it. Judging by where we are, they may be right.
saberswordsmen1 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 Sorry, both examples I gave came from his own mouth and record. He voted against the Employment Non-Discrimination Act that we've been trying to pass for decades so gay people won't be able to be fired solely because of who they are. And, Ron Paul explained that he wouldn't force people to desegregate their businesses, etc. because it's their rights to property. Thats why he'd vote against the Civil Rights Act. He may not be a bigot but he doesn't DEMAND rights.
tytheeman20 1 month ago
@tytheeman20 Still missing the point. The reason some Libertarians oppose the CRA is that they believe the government does a poor job at solving a noble goal. It's not that they don't agree with the goal, they just disagree on method. And yes, they believe a person's right to say who should have access to their property should cover any reason. Discrimination is perfectly legal in other classes; sports teams, hair color, fashion sense... only certain kinds are protected.
saberswordsmen1 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 I don't know what you're getting at but sports teams, hair color, fashion sense is different than discrimination based on sexual orientation. Sexual orientation is the same as skin color and gender. I don't have "a hard on for this guy" I find it weird that so many people keep mentioning Ron Paul as if he's great. He may be on the Republican side but I wouldn't support him up against Obama. He doesn't support gay rights fully and I'm baffled someone believes it.
tytheeman20 1 month ago
@tytheeman20 Why is it any worse for someone to not hire you because you have darker skin than if you have darker hair? For that matter, if one doesn't want to pay you money, should they really need a reason? Would it matter? Can you really prevent intentions? Might it just push the racism underground and make it a taboo subject? How can this be effective? These are the sorts of questions Libertarians might ask; disagreeing with the conclusion is OK, but not the goal.
saberswordsmen1 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 How is it supporting rights by saying they'll get it eventually? That's not support. And he's voted against it. Nobody discriminates against hair lol...the problem with Libetarianism is that there are so many hypotheticals, yet the solution is always to let people do whatever they want. If people were able to do that, basically all minorities would not have good jobs. This society favors white men if you didn't notice. Libertarianism didn't make it more equal.
tytheeman20 1 month ago
@tytheeman20 I never said "getting rights eventually" was acceptable. I think the objection many Libertarians have to those laws are simply the rights for people to choose who they wish to associate with, hire, whatever, unfettered, for any reason, restricted. What favors white men are our restrictive laws: Drug laws, capital punishment, etc, are all applied to minorities more harshly; Libertarians, not Dems or Reps, want to see an end to that real discrimination.
saberswordsmen1 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 Ron Paul knows damn well that most of his pro-conservative states will ban it anyways, thus he doesnt have to say that he wants to ban it on a federal level. "leaving it up to the states" is extremely silly. Its the same as saying """"We arent allowed to discriminate against anyone on a federal level, but we are allowed to act like fascists on a state level"":
gulbirk 1 month ago
@gulbirk Be that as it may, that's sort of the system the Constitution was meant to implement; let each state run how those people want it to be run. The more localized power is, the more likely people can make intelligent choices based on their unique needs, rather than a blanket by a bureaucrat hundreds of miles away. Anyway, the point simply was that Paul is not against gay marriage; what other people would choose is neither here nor there.
saberswordsmen1 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 Yes it is. Personally he is against it (he has stated that), and he knows that on a state level it will easily be banned in many states. Thats anti-rights. Its GREAT to allow something on a federal level, because then the states cant act like fascists.
gulbirk 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 The states shouldn't get the right to vote on civil rights, it's unconstitutional.
MegaBlueZOMBIE 1 month ago
@MegaBlueZOMBIE As I said, there are plenty of arguments to be made that this is in fact the case. That isn't the point. The point is that saying Ron Paul is against gay marriage is patently false; he has repeatedly stated he is in favor of states deciding the issue. That != anti-gay-marriage. Again, it's the misconception that if one is not pro, one must be anti. It's a fallacy of bifurcation.
saberswordsmen1 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 Evidently he is against gay marriage, because he is a strict constitutionalist, a christian(and a creationist) yet wants to let states vote on a civil rights issue even though the constitution says that is not allowed which means he either doesn't think gay marriage is a civil rights issue because you aren't born gay and he must either think it's a choice or he DOES know it's a civil rights matter but doesn't care because he is a christian.
MegaBlueZOMBIE 1 month ago
@MegaBlueZOMBIE This doesn't make sense at all. You are making an argument about the Constitution that nobody else does (because it's wrong).
saberswordsmen1 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 What are you talking about? This is out of Ron Paul's mouth, if 95% of the population want seperate water fountains between blacks and whites, it doesn't matter, it's a civil rights issue, this applies to many things, and the debate going on between democrats and republicans is if gay marriage is a civil rights issue or not, it clearly is, and anyone who says otherwise only says so because they let their religion interfere with their politics.
MegaBlueZOMBIE 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 And another reason republicans think it's not a civil rights issue is because they think it's just a choice, so the fact that Ron Paul does not think gay rights is a civil rights issue shows he is bigoted(obviously not as much as the rest of the morons). Don't get me wrong, I would like Ron Paul for president(although a republican in office would fuck up the supreme court for an extremely long time) but I don't agree with him on all of his issues, as do many.
MegaBlueZOMBIE 1 month ago
@MegaBlueZOMBIE That is not bigotry. At worst, it's ignorance of biological homosexuality, not a prejudice against it. Personally, I don't think it matters whether or not it is choice or inherent, and I don't think Paul thinks so either. Consenting adults should choose what they want to do, and this is consistent with Libertarian principles. But states have always regulated marriage, so saying we should continue that while stepping out Federally is also consistent.
saberswordsmen1 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 States have always regulated inter-racial marriage too, but then they stopped, it's time to stop for gay marriage too, and catch up with the rest of the western world, it's 2012, gay marriage is plain and simple a civil rights issue, yes he isn't bigoted against homosexual that was a bad choice of words, but he is not just ignorant either, he is voluntarily ignorant and it's an issue he lets his religious beliefs seep in and interfere with it.(and abortion)
MegaBlueZOMBIE 1 month ago
@MegaBlueZOMBIE Again, I don't disagree. I was vehemently against Prop 8 when it was going on here. My point was just that he isn't anti-gay marriage; nothing more. Arguing whether his ideas are good is a whole 'nother matter.
saberswordsmen1 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 Well in my opinion him being a strict constitutionalist and going against that so gay marriage doesn't get passed shows he is anti-gay marriage but since he is a libertarian he can't outright ban it. I mean DOMA, the thing stopping gay marriage from being passed is plain and simple unconstitional and the only ones against it being reappealed are the ones that think America is a christian nation, did you know he also voted against legalising sodomy?
MegaBlueZOMBIE 1 month ago
@MegaBlueZOMBIE AFAIK, DOMA simply means states may choose not to recognize a gay marriage in another state, which is in line with Libertarian principles, agree or disagree. I'd like to see proof of him voting against legalizing sodomy; that sounds very much outside of his usual ideology. That sounds like an out of context spun factoid to me, honestly. I could, of course, be wrong, but I don't believe everything I hear on the Internet. :p
saberswordsmen1 1 month ago
@MegaBlueZOMBIE Ah, I think I found what you mean, and as I suspected, it isn't what you say. From Wikipedia: he stated his *opposition* to what he called ridiculous sodomy laws, but expressed his fear that federal courts were grossly violating their role of strictly interpreting the Constitution, and felt that they were setting a dangerous precedent of what he characterized as legislating from the bench, by declaring privacy in regards to sexual conduct a constitutional right.
saberswordsmen1 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 Ah I was wrong about the sodomy laws, I also heard them on the internet on numerous websites which also must of took them out of context, but the reason I am so passionate about this is because I was deported 1 and a half years ago from America after being with my partner for 2 years, I had to cross the border from Canada numerous times to renew my visa(Ireland gets infinite number of 90 day visas) and was rejected and deported-cont
MegaBlueZOMBIE 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 -cont and the only way I can get back to my partner, the person whom I love who I currently only skype and IM with is if DOMA is ruled unconstitutional(Ron Paul supports DOMA). If we were a heterosexual couple it would be absolutely no problem, we would be married and i'd have my green card for a year now, so legalising gay marriage in some states isn't enough to get me back and has broken up a lot of families, some with adopted kids also.
MegaBlueZOMBIE 1 month ago
@MegaBlueZOMBIE Again, I don't disagree with what you're saying... what I disagree with is the characterization that he is ANTI-gay marriage and a bigot. Both of those characterizations are patently false. As to whether his method is right, is of course much more debatable.
saberswordsmen1 1 month ago
@saberswordsmen1 Well I am being discriminated against for being gay and would still be under Ron Paul since he supports DOMA, I think anyone who supports DOMA is bigoted, I mean he says he doesn't think the federal government should be interfering with marriage and it's definitions so why does he support DOMA?
MegaBlueZOMBIE 1 month ago
@MegaBlueZOMBIE My understanding of DOMA is the opposite. If Libertarians believe that states should have the right to regulate this sort of thing, it follows that one must support a bill like DOMA, which protects those rights of states. Again, disagreeing with it is fine, but it isn't bigoted; it's in line with Libertarian principles of state rights. I think we're just going to have to disagree here. That's a subjective opinion that he's anti-gay marriage, so my OP stands.
saberswordsmen1 1 month ago

Santorum is most repressed, and the gayest, repressed gay I've ever seen (next to Marcus Bachmann!)

@rsrhcp In what way does diverting legislative potency from federal to state allow for "all Americans to be given the same civil benefits?"
Furoar 1 month ago
@Furoar in the same way that a federal government would not be allowed to limit these civil liberties under Paul. If a state were to ban gay marriage or civil unions, lawsuits against the state could win. Also, these anti-gay states would suffer as people could freely move to the states that have gay marriage like Vermont, NY, NH, and Iowa. So saying RP is against gay-marriage because he won't federally legalize it is like saying he's pro-animal abuse because he won't federalize a law against it

There is no such thing as gay rights in the republican party, besides Ron Paul that is. Bachmann said gays have the right to marry, just to the opposite sex.

Obama but if chosing between a Republican president; vote Ron Paul
MasterGamerZs 1 month ago
@MasterGamerZs Ron Paul is, unfortunately, very anti-atheism/anti-seperation of church and state.
AcoraZ3RO 1 month ago

I watched this and found nothing wrong.
The republican smiled like a boss, and that's it.
Typical.
Scotish223332 1 month ago
@Scotish223332 Actually, Liberals have been focused on the Economy, jobs, unemployment, social security, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. Republicans have been focused on anti-abortion, anti-gay rights, forcing Christianity on other people and reaffirming our national motto as "In God We Trust." Not hard to figure out who has the priorities of the nation correct.
