I buy Acura's just because they are so much more reliable and cheaper. As a Frugal Guy I just think you get more bang for the buck. I do not like the 09 and up styles however I do love the interiors way more. Yeah they may not have the performance of the BMW, Audi, or Mercedes but I am content with my penis and don't need something like that! Plus I am not one who likes to advertise having a well that runs deep!!! Did I mention I buy Acura's usually 5 years or older and very reliable!!!
I'm sorry but you CAN NOT get any of the competitors identified in this video for around 30k equipped like the TSX. A 328, A4, G37, IS250 knock on 40K equipped like the TSX. The TSX you can walk out of any Acura dealership for ~$27K. Youd be lucky to get a 2007 CPO 328 equipped like the TSX for that much.
@pollofrito21 - I completely agree. $30k will not get you half of what you'll get with an Acura TSX. I'll save my money get an awesome car in the TSX for under $30k (I have no need to empty my wallet getting a Merc or BMW just for the sake of keeping up with the Jones').
even though this grill is much more acceptable than that of the tl and rl, the euro/asia version's grill is by far better. whyd they have to go put big honking noses on these cars? one generation (or two more revisions) and i bet we'll see some scaling back. remember the "bangle butt"? and before anyone starts w/"well why was that design so widely copied?" just stop. even people that dont know about cars know the names bmw and mercedes benz and look up to them even though they dont know why

Wow..... old version of the Audi A4 was pictured and the Infiniti now has the G37 sedan.... not the G35 anymore. Also, the BMW pictured was also the 3 series coupe, not the sedan which is a more direct competitor to the TSX. Really though, it's TSX and G37 on one tier, with cars like the new A4/ new Merc C-class, Lexus IS and the BMW 3 on the next tier. The Infiniti and Acura might not have quite as much prestige or some of the fancier luxury features.... but they don't cost almost 40K either.
I highly disagree BMW is fantastic with a rich history in racing and luxury yes id rather have an Mercedes Benz for luxury sedan or car but if i wanted a sports sedan or coupe hands DOWN BMW m3 or m5 those two cars are so amazing its ridiculous. but hey were all entitled to our opinions :P
if i wanted a nice sedan i would much rather get a Holden, they are cheaper then BMW and in my opinion Holden is a much better car for the money, i still thing BMW is over rated and over priced.
there's NO WAY you can get those other models mentioned at the price and equipement level of the TSX. Sure you'll always have model loyalty but in the real world of saving THOUSANDS!!!! this car is to be considered. I've seen these w/ the tech package under $30K. Now what 3 series can you get for that amount (you can't even get that crappy @55 1 series).
Great on gas, only 3 HP less than last years model, more torque, 25-30 mpg, looks fantastic in black or grey on black. No way you can beat the value for the money. You can get one at or below invoice right now. They just stopped making the 09's and already working on the 10's. The V6 version comes out this summer.
the new design sucks but they have 2 mugen concepts that make it look pretty sick. wish acura would throw some LEDs on the tail and give it 4 wheel drive!!
I wish that people would open their eyes and see that an Acura is much better for the money than a Bmw or Audi. The 09 Acuras are hideously horrific. Looks like Acura kidnapped the Cadillac designer at gunpoint and said: "Design!" Not only do the front grills suck, the boxy fenders look like the last generation Maxima. The back end is fat and clumsy. The interior has cheap plastics and tacky faux metal trim (as compared to the 2004 to 2008 TSX). The interior console is an ergonomic disaster zone. Guess I don't like it.
This reporter forgot to mention that the Acura TSX is a (front wheel drive) FWD vehicle.
I was interested in this car but after finding out that it's a FWD car and that the engine is "tuned-up" (it's not a newly designed engine),,,I changed my mind.
The styling is laughable and the grill is really ugly! The TSX was awsome to begin with, but the U.S. corporate designers just had to manipulate a lean and athletic looking machine and make it their own, Super Size Me TSX! Eww!! For Acuras sake I hope the new TLs style is nothing like this! Get rid of the Robotech Grill PLS!!!!!!
I'm really disappointed with Acura. I own an 06 TSX and I was really looking forward to the 09. I was even thinking of trading in the lease but they f*cked it up. That damn grill. The interior is just like the Accord. When I go to Acura I am looking for the low maintence/high reliability of a Honda but the design and features of a luxury car. The 09 TSX has the former but really lacks the latter. The 06-08 TSX is one of the most handsome well designed cars around and for 30k it is unbeatable.
But this new hunk of junk is just plain ugly. The grill is tacky. The excess amount of chrome is one of the main reasons I would never drive a Caddy, 300M, or Lincoln MKZ even if I got it free. The previous TSX grill is very elegant and they should have kept a similar design for the 09. Another thing I did not like when I saw this in person is how the front lights bubble out. Bubbling headlights can be pulled off but it is very difficult and the TSX body is not one to accomodate bubbles.
Although I like the central touchscreen Navi I understand why the placed the navi higher up. With the navi there I take my eyes off the road less and that's safer BUT having to use that wheel thing and not being able to type in letters might be more dangerous since I spend more time on the navi and less time on the steering wheel. You shouldn't drive while using it in reality that's what people do so it is car makers responsibility to make these luxury features more intuitive and quicker to use.
All in all I give the 09 TSX a 6/10 and the 06-08 a 9/10. The body and skeleton of the 09 TSX is not bad actually. But the job they did with the body panels and grill is just terrible. If they shaved off that excess and ill placed muscle (reminds me of a BMW 3) in the rear end, popped in the Euro Accord grill with Acura logo, and polished down the head lights so the damn car doesn't look like a gecko it would look nice. Get rid of the Accord interior instead upgrade the current interior design.
Wow, this looks simply terrible. I liked the simplicity of the previous design but this one doesn't not hit the mark. Choice of wheel design also poor. I'm sure it drives decently tho..
Why does Acura still remain intent on using FWD??? Lexus has Acura crushed because the majority of their cars are independently designed, not just upscaled Toyotas.
I miss the edgy style of the old one. I read the reviews, and it said that the sportiness of the old one is compromised and the price has been jacked up a bit. I think Acura could have done a better job with this one.
Looks like a Camry. Biggest downer are the wheels. Way too small and not aggressive enough. Lexus IS350 is leagues ahead, and I have much respect for Honda/Acura.

I just went down to Daly City in California. Daly City Acura Dealership. I saw the 09 TSX in stock, there were only two different prices. You either get the one that is 29K out the door, or 32,600 out the door. The prices were already added with TAX. So thats what you pay straight up.
Yeah, i saw one two days ago at a dealer in CT. Not a huge fan, and as a TSX owner i really wanted to be one. It looks bulkier, the chrome grill is tacky and the wheels are terrible. interior is sweet - but overall looks too much like a TL clone. Not sporty enough imo.

I have a 2004 TSX with NAV and I can tell you right off the bat that Acura's switching from a touch-screen GPS interface to a dial/knob-control GPS system was one of the many dumb things they have done with this second generation TSX.
free TSX rental for one day was sweet two years ago. I almost trade in my Subaru but Nah I love my AWD. TSX waw fun to drive. I expect this one to look good but now it's a turn off with that grill and inside.
i think everybody does and that car was far from outstanding, not sure what acura is thinking phasing out the rsx and doing almost nothing to improve the tsx
The guy doing the review is incredibly awkward...I've seen a few of his other videos. It's hard believe anything he says because it all seems so rehearsed.
This car will sell just as well if not better then the first TSX. Acura knows that most TSX drivers WERE NOT looking for a faster car. A turbo or more powerful engine = less MPG's and a higher MSRP. If you want a faster car buy a TL, G35 etc. I currently own a 04 TSX with 180K miles on it without a single problem at all. As soon as this TSX hits dealers I will be purchasing one. Acura was smart by keeping this car 4cyl...I would not purchase it if it had turbo or a V6.

The 09 Acuras are hideously horrific. Looks like Acura kidnapped the Cadillac designer at gunpoint and said: "Design!" Not only do the front grills suck, the boxy fenders look like the last generation Maxima. The back end is fat and clumsy. The interior has cheap plastics and tacky faux metal trim (as compared to the 2004 to 2008 TSX). The interior console is an ergonomic disaster zone. Guess I don't like it.

This reporter forgot to mention that the Acura TSX is a (front wheel drive) FWD vehicle.
I was interested in this car but after finding out that it's a FWD car and that the engine is "tuned-up" (it's not a newly designed engine),,,I changed my mind.

The styling is laughable and the grill is really ugly! The TSX was awsome to begin with, but the U.S. corporate designers just had to manipulate a lean and athletic looking machine and make it their own, Super Size Me TSX! Eww!! For Acuras sake I hope the new TLs style is nothing like this! Get rid of the Robotech Grill PLS!!!!!!

I'm really disappointed with Acura. I own an 06 TSX and I was really looking forward to the 09. I was even thinking of trading in the lease but they f*cked it up. That damn grill. The interior is just like the Accord. When I go to Acura I am looking for the low maintence/high reliability of a Honda but the design and features of a luxury car. The 09 TSX has the former but really lacks the latter. The 06-08 TSX is one of the most handsome well designed cars around and for 30k it is unbeatable.

But this new hunk of junk is just plain ugly. The grill is tacky. The excess amount of chrome is one of the main reasons I would never drive a Caddy, 300M, or Lincoln MKZ even if I got it free. The previous TSX grill is very elegant and they should have kept a similar design for the 09. Another thing I did not like when I saw this in person is how the front lights bubble out. Bubbling headlights can be pulled off but it is very difficult and the TSX body is not one to accomodate bubbles.

Although I like the central touchscreen Navi I understand why the placed the navi higher up. With the navi there I take my eyes off the road less and that's safer BUT having to use that wheel thing and not being able to type in letters might be more dangerous since I spend more time on the navi and less time on the steering wheel. You shouldn't drive while using it in reality that's what people do so it is car makers responsibility to make these luxury features more intuitive and quicker to use.

All in all I give the 09 TSX a 6/10 and the 06-08 a 9/10. The body and skeleton of the 09 TSX is not bad actually. But the job they did with the body panels and grill is just terrible. If they shaved off that excess and ill placed muscle (reminds me of a BMW 3) in the rear end, popped in the Euro Accord grill with Acura logo, and polished down the head lights so the damn car doesn't look like a gecko it would look nice. Get rid of the Accord interior instead upgrade the current interior design.

Wow, this looks simply terrible. I liked the simplicity of the previous design but this one doesn't not hit the mark. Choice of wheel design also poor. I'm sure it drives decently tho..

Why does Acura still remain intent on using FWD??? Lexus has Acura crushed because the majority of their cars are independently designed, not just upscaled Toyotas.

I miss the edgy style of the old one. I read the reviews, and it said that the sportiness of the old one is compromised and the price has been jacked up a bit. I think Acura could have done a better job with this one.

Looks like a Camry. Biggest downer are the wheels. Way too small and not aggressive enough. Lexus IS350 is leagues ahead, and I have much respect for Honda/Acura.

this car is not so bad...i would consider getting it..but if i had the choice of a infiniti coupe or a lexus..i would definately choose those over the acura tsx but since they are cheaper...i might actually think about getting this hmmmmm tough decision

UGLY ASS TSX. The front looks like SAturn, the back Looks Like LEXUS Es, Interior Sucks, And the only good thing they have is The Paddle shifter. And Less horsepower than Previous Version ? WTF, At THis Point I'd Rather Buy Honda 2008 Accord 2Dr It looks much better and cheaper. Also They can't compare this TSX with 3.28I, G35, or A4. TSX is not Even Worth comparing with any of Those car. Gee What the hell is HONDA thinking ????

wipee7 thats where ur wrong, most ppl WONT pay more for a BMW or Infiniti. u know why? a base price on a 328i is already 32K, Thats the same price as the TSX fully loaded. Y would u pay more for something that gives u less? The BMW 328i Standard (base model) comes with no leather upholstery. Infiniti dealers only sell pre-made models and all of em r 35K+. So why pay more for less? please get your facts straight, indeed the car does look better in person than pics / video

"Why pay more for less"-- Since when did an infiniti or bmw give you less than a tsx? Also, a base 2008 infinti g35 will cost you 32k not 35k. You're the one that needs to get your facts straight. Most people WOULD pay an extra 3k than this fancy saturn.
In any case, lets say we go with your arguement... you can say the same exact thing for a fully loaded honda accord! The fully loaded accord will give you the same level of reliability/luxury and better performance!

Just because I think this car is a disaster doesn't mean that I'm not a fan of japanese cars you illiterate dipshit. The reason I think this car is a disaster is from the fact that most people would much rather pay a little more and get themselves an infiniti, bmw, or even a fully loaded accord than this fugly tsx.

umm no you ignorant dumbass, acura makes everything standard except the navi.tech package, where as the same options on other competitors would take easily clost to if not more than 40g's, TSX has better resale value with honda reliability, no american of Jap company who thinks theyre german can make a better car, acura does its own thing

I just went down to Daly City in California. Daly City Acura Dealership. I saw the 09 TSX in stock, there were only two different prices. You either get the one that is 29K out the door, or 32,600 out the door. The prices were already added with TAX. So thats what you pay straight up.

Yeah, i saw one two days ago at a dealer in CT. Not a huge fan, and as a TSX owner i really wanted to be one. It looks bulkier, the chrome grill is tacky and the wheels are terrible. interior is sweet - but overall looks too much like a TL clone. Not sporty enough imo.

I have a 2004 TSX with NAV and I can tell you right off the bat that Acura's switching from a touch-screen GPS interface to a dial/knob-control GPS system was one of the many dumb things they have done with this second generation TSX.

free TSX rental for one day was sweet two years ago. I almost trade in my Subaru but Nah I love my AWD. TSX waw fun to drive. I expect this one to look good but now it's a turn off with that grill and inside.

This car will sell just as well if not better then the first TSX. Acura knows that most TSX drivers WERE NOT looking for a faster car. A turbo or more powerful engine = less MPG's and a higher MSRP. If you want a faster car buy a TL, G35 etc. I currently own a 04 TSX with 180K miles on it without a single problem at all. As soon as this TSX hits dealers I will be purchasing one. Acura was smart by keeping this car 4cyl...I would not purchase it if it had turbo or a V6.
