  • stupid vedio, rosacea is incurable

  • Rosacea is treatable. : Great video.

  • hi Doctor, Please help with identifieing my problem that none of the videos touch on. I have the redness but it itches all the time. The dry skin peals off like a sun burn and comes about once every 3 mths for the last 10 yrs.

    Is this rosecea?

    thank u for your response.

  • I am not a doctor.

Suggest you see a dermatologist to identify your problem.

It is not a good idea to diagnose on the internet.

  • I dont need theorys I need FACTS. I can read what triggers are through the internet . Go get a allergy test to see what you are allergic to and then avoid them. I first a really red face and then a burning sensation. I looked up on the internet and went to a dermatologist and got on antibiotics and antibiotic cream. It worked but Im going to get off of them and because it not good to be on anitbiotic for a long period and we will see. Anyone had the similiar experience ? get back to me.

  • hey.

when i run around or do something active or go under the sun.

My face turns really red and if i touch it, it burns .

    DO I HAVE ROSACEA?????

  • Only a physician can diagnose rosacea through an actual physical exam and history. It is not a good idea to get a diagnosis over the internet. I suggest you see a good dermatologist familiar with rosacea treatment to differentiate rosacea from a host of rosacea mimics

  • There may be an inflammatory response, but I am firmly convinced that there is a neurological/CNS component to a small subset of typical rosaceans. The flush is CNS all the way.

Also, there is a significant genetic element involved here. I'd be happy to discuss any and all theorys by PM.

  • Certain soaps, chemicals, etc., may irritate or trigger rosacea but that doesn't mean it causes the rosacea. No one really knows for sure what causes rosacea. The trigger list is massive and what may trigger your rosacea may not trigger another rosacean. In my book I list the triggers.

  • There is an attractive girl working in my office...and people make disparaging remarks behind her back about her "acne" problem...but i think she really has rosacea because it is all over her face...forehead, cheeks, nose, chin...

I went on a trip with her ...and she came out of the shower with her whole face completely red...I didn't know what to say...I just pretended it wasn't there..but I really feel sorry because women tend to be more fashion conscious than men so it must be hard on her.

  • i also think rosacea is from harsh ingredients like SOAP and other acne products with high ph, what do you think brady!?!? thank for such a quick reply on my last question in less than 3 hours!

  • i think so too, my skin cracks and bleeds when i use some liquid soap

  • i think rosacea is from toxicity of chemicals and ingredients, what do you think brady?

i think detoxing pores with steam will help rosacea purrge chemicals that is causing the inflammation? help!

  • Rosacea skin is usually very sensitive and may react to steam, but I haven't any experience with this or heard of anyone using steam. Generally heat aggravates rosacea skin. You can try it but be careful and try a test area first, like one side of your face with a small patch test.

  • Of all my treatments I have to say although expensive at $500 a pop the IPL treatments work the best on reducing flushing, telegiastas and papules/pustules.

Results for me have lasted 3 years and now I have to go back for more treatments due to excessive flushing again.

  • How many 'pops' does it take to do this?

  • As a rosacean and on behalf of all rosaceans I'm sure we can all agree that the last thing we need are more "theories" on this condition.

What we are really looking for is hard evidence as to what causes it and how can we stop it and reverse it's damage.

I've tried just about everything over the year's from pills to vitamins to diet to lasers and the syptoms still persist but there is hope as more research is currently being done.

  • I hope more people start waking up to how effective natural remedies that prevent and reverse disease are instead of simply settling for toxic pharmaceutical symptom suppression. Can't stress that enough.

  • With natural lifestyle adjustments, such as cleaning up my diet and minimizing environmental toxic exposures, I have experienced remarkable decreases in skin issues, like patches of redness on my face, eczema on my upper arms, and skin dryness. That's just what I have observed of my skin. I hope more people start waking up to how effective natural remedies that prevent and reverse disease instead of simply settling toxic pharmaceutical symptom suppression.

  • Casn lasers cure the blood vessels in my eyes as I have Ocular Rosacea? My eyes always apeear Bloodshot and the blood vessels in the corners of my eyes are always prominent. I read that tiny triggers from the lasers can kill the blood vessells.

    Is this true?

  • You should discuss this with your opthalmologist. There are drugs, such as Phenylephrine hydrochloride, a vasoconstrictor that may also be prescribed by your physician.

  • From my experience lasers cannot be used on the eyes as well as the ears.

  • Do you recommend Elidel for Roscea?

  • Only a physician can prescribe Elidel. You should discuss this with your dermatologist. Prescription treatments for rosacea are one of five ways to treat it and are discussed in my book. I mention Elidel (Pimecrolimus) as one of many prescriptions used which is an immunosuppressant.

  • I've come to believe that rosacea is caused by leaky-gut/systemic fungal infection/gut dysbiosis. This is why eating low-carb helps -fungus feeds on sugars/refined carbs. My spouse's rosacea started after taking antibiotics and living in a moldy apartment.

  • Your theory is as valid as anyone's at this point since there are many theories to consider. However, you have a few of them mixed together with your theory. I would have to read up on dysbiosis since I am not familiar with it. Thanks for your thoughts.

  • I am not sure what my question is, but thuoght I would share this with you to get your insight. There are many cases in which this happens yet clears up later on. My personal belief is that it started with an immune related problem, since I was also diagnosed with having SD and supposedly urticaria...Again, I have little understanding of what my body is going through at the moment...

I do appreciate any help or advice you can send my way.

    Thanks.

  • I suggest you read my book.

  • Since I Do have visible blood vessels, does that stamp me as having Rosacea. Is there a possibilitiy that IF this reaction does cease to continue, that these blood vessels can be treated with laser.

I have visited a popular Rosacea forum, and read a post from a well renowned physician named Dr. Nase. He suggests promoting collagen growth before attacking the blood vessels.

  • Dr. Nase is not a physician. He is a Ph.D. in microvascular biology. I am not qualified to comment on promoting collagen growth. I suggest you ask your dermatologist.

  • chaseryder,

only a physician can diagnose rosacea and it can't be done over the internet. Blood vessels respond well to light therapy and is the discussion of one of my other YouTube videos: Light Therapy.

  • I am currently reaching about the 10 month mark of the flushing, and I have developed a pretty bad case of tangelestia (sp). I have visible spider veins under my eye sockets, on my nose, and I do experience flushing episodes from common Rosacea triggers, yet it can happen for no apparent reason either. My flushes are an everyday thing, and can last from minutes, to an hour or so...

  • I suggest you read my chapter on flushing - Chapter 10.

  • Some stories of sufferers say that their flushing does stop after treatment, yet others continue after. THere have been individuals who experience the flushing from 2 months post treatment, to years...

  • Flushing and Trigger avoidance is simply one of five treatments for rosacea which I discuss in Chapter 5.

  • Hey Brady,

Love the videos...I do have a question regarding my current skin problem. I am 22 years old, and took the powerful acne drug Accutane. I took it for 3 days and developed a flushing reaction, causing me to flush. There is a high rate of instances that continue to grow with this drug, yet is continually overlooked by dermatology.

  • I cover Accutane in my book in Appendix Q.

  • Brady, do you think living in Hawaii helps your rosacea any? Humidity and a pretty constant tempture through out the year sounds nice.

  • When I came here on a vacation I noticed a vast improvement. However, after living here for three years and ten months I can assure you that my rosacea is still with me and I have to control it with my RD and ZZ cream (occasional Tea Tree Oil).

  • Brady, I'm not buying your book. Someone is always trying to sell a book. I'm sick of hearing theories, surely someone has to know the cause of rosacea. Ive had it since 12 and I am now 36. Im SICK AND TIRED OF IT!!!

  • (continued.)

I have been interested in a theory that rosacea is caused by a lack of stomach acid and other digestive problems such as leaky gut syndrome. I have been taking HCL tablets with Vitamin B complex twice daily, and I believe it has been helping quite a bit, but it is too soon to jump to any conclusions yet!

  • My book in Chapter 3, Theory 3—Rosacea—A Disorder Provoked by Various Environmental Stimuli, subheading, Microbes, lists as one possibility, Helicobacter Pylori, and I cover this in more detail in Appendix C. The stomach acid and leaky gut may be due to the Helicobacter Pylori, but this is only a theory. Some rosaceans report success treating for this others say no, however, if it works for you that is all that required, now isn't it? I think it is worth a try.

  • Brady, I am interested in purchasing your book, you seem to have alot of information in it. You say you are a rosacea sufferer yet your skin seems flawless.. What worked for YOU?

I am also wondering what you believe to be the most valid theory of causes of rosacea?

  • My Rosacea Diet (see video) and the Zhongzhou Medical Ointment and sometimes Tea Tree Oil. Which theory? Maybe the immune system has been damaged? Too early to tell since we need more research (see video on RRDi)
