I can't believe this was over 10 years ago, i was only 15 at the time and remember it been an exciting day but the visibilty was rubbish up north, good to see paignton again it is definitely the best beach resort in england bar none!!!!.
I remember seeing this eclipse in August of 1999, even though I live near Brighton and was nearly 10 at the time. I was having breakfast one day and found some eclipse glasses in a box of Coco Pops. Sometime around midday, my mum told me to come outside and see the eclipse. I certainly don't regret it. Wonderful view, and it really did feel like night time as well. What a great year 1999 was.

It's amazing how it goes really dark then light again. I was young when i seen this. Watched it outside the pub in Cornwall.

It was a last minute decision to go down from Blackpool. One of them once in a lifetime must see's. watching it now still sends shivers down my back.
