Beautiful snake with excellent technique :) I would have loved to see it feed as well. In general, people do not appreciate the speed by which the rodent is sent into the void. The constrictions are so tight that the heart can not beat and sooner, rather than later, the prey loses consciousness as the brain is starved of oxygen; death follows soon after.

yeah, i dont usually feed her meals near that big. the reptile specialty and feeder shop was waiting for their shipment and was low on feeders. all they had were just weaned rats or HUGE rats that day. i figured she could handle it just fine so i let her have a big one. i gave her a little longer than normal to digest before she got her next meal after this one.

Ive seen too many vids of snakes eating meals 2 sizes too big and i know somebody who has killed a couple snakes recently by overfeeding. yea, it was a bit bigger than i liked to give her when she was that size. she handled it just fine though. i don't like feeding meals that big but the feeder store only had jumbos rats and small rats that day. their smalls are barely weaned and tiny so i figured i would let her have a big guy. she didn't seem to mind

I've never asked anyone, but have always assumed that after you get past pinkies, fuzzies, and jumpers, rats and mice simply increment like hens' eggs at the store: small, medium, large, extra large, and jumbo. This is just a guess which I, myself, take with salt, considering that I've never seen a two-yolk rat.

These folks have some of the prettiest looking snakes on You Tube, and that's why I come back to their vids so often.

i don't like feeding mice since most snakes will quickly outgrow them anyway. all my snakes are on rats if possible. with a normal sized meal i feed this girl once every 7-10 days. with this meal i gave her longer to digest it since it was a big meal
