I always thought Coleman wasn't well-proportioned, his ass stuck out and he won purely on the facile measure of "bigger is always better". His thighs were too thick and his middle trunk was bloated looking. I think Flex Wheeler was aesthetically more perfect. The bigger is better approach has led bodybuilding down a blind alley, and now most at Olympia level all look the same.

Dorian's back was more defined than Coleman's, but Coleman is the better bodybuilder overall. However both had stomachs that hang out which is very unattractive and what makes modern bodybuilders look like freaks. Arnold and Zane may not be as huge or ripped, but having a small waist and ability to do the 'vacuum' made bodybuilding very attractive back in the day.
