I Believe This Was A Video Clip Of BBC-TV's BBC News' BBC Evening News' Entertainment News Report On McCartney Drug Charge On Tuesday Evening, January 17, 1984.
Love how he winks after saying "never again." As in, of course I'll do it again. As soon as I get back home, you twat! If anyone should have carte blanche to smoke all the ganja he wants, outside of a Jamaican rastafarian, it's Paul McCartney. Who the fuck is he hurting anyway? Himself? Yeah, right! How do you explain the last 50 years of this guy's career? The dope sure made him a total slacker as you can tell. Spark one up for me, Macca!
What a twat he really is. Got caught twice, should have been doing some serious community service to set an example to the kids. It's sad that a man in his 40s had to come up with the weak excuse that smoking weed enhanced his creativity. Judging by his lack of creativity it clearly didn't work. Should have packed up doing music long before 1984.
@3replybiz he and the rest of the beatles smoked weed well before this interview. Weed lets ideas flow more easily. you edit yourself less. he isn't obligated to do anything for anyone's kids but his own.
@WellConditionedChimp Weed deludes you into thinking you are having creative ideas. He died creatively in about 1970, he's just embarrassing to watch now. He's a role model to a lot of people & should be a bit smarter about not being caught maybe.
@WellConditionedChimp Weed makes you think you have creative ideas, you have to have the talent to realise them otherwise you are just another stoner.
@WellConditionedChimp It's a cliche and stoners & people who never smoked weed will tell you alike that such-and-such great work was created 'because of drugs'. Great works are created because of talent, drugs might open the door a little but ability makes it possible. Yes I do have the talent to realise my ideas thanks. Macca was all washed-up by 1984, I mean 'Wings' do me a favour and stop making records 15 years ago PLEASE!!!!
@dutchgoing you dodged my question. I think very few people would attribute their own creativity to drugs alone. I think very many more would suggest that it enhances the creative process. Cases in point: the Beatles, Kary Mullis (Nobel prize in chemistry), Allen Ginsberg, Ken Kesey, Joe Rogan. Many painters used absinthe. Many authors drank. Many jazz players used heroin. To deny that drugs can enhance creativity in some people would be painfully naive.
I didn't ask you whether you had the talent to realize anything. And that was a funny Wings reference. My question for you is whether you've ever used marijuana to help you with an artistic endeavor. Considering how much conditioning we have handed down from our culture, it would be comforting to know that you are arguing from experience rather than hearsay.
@dutchgoing and let's say somebody is not creative. what's wrong with him being a stoner? His food tastes better. His favorite movies are more entertaining than the first time he watched them. Sex feels better. He laughs more than otherwise. Now, he may take it too far and let it preoccupy him. That's the guy who stoops to the stereotype. I would suppose that most people who use marijuana are between the loser and the creative guy. Such is life, with or without drugs.
@WellConditionedChimp Not a lot wrong with that, better than drinking ten pints of beer but the experience isn't real. My gripe is what you are financing when you buy weed and annoying washed-up celebs defending their 'right' to smoke because they are artists. You don't need drugs or not too often if you are happy in yourself. I smoked a lot to escape myself to be honest & to get 'creative' but it was a dead end, you don't have to keep doing it.
I believe him, there was no harm (hell I wasn't there but I don't see him harming anyone, he is a kind soul, wouldn't hurt anyone, but he can testify his case with the sexiest attitude I have ever seen!!) I love Paul, and will always love him
Haha @1.09 the reporter asks Paul was it good stuff Paul replies oh get outta here .
