its pretty good. Garageband isnt the best program to make beats though. If you are really into making beats i suggest you save up for a program like: "FL Studio 8 Producr Edition"

yeah at the cost of 100s of dollars. garage band is free and it's very user friendly. i love the GUI on garage band, where as in FL it's just bunch of colors.
