  • hehe i no dat cheat code of gettin shiva 2 lol

  • Wow,mid 90's music is so much different than early 90;s music. Its just not as good as the first 2 games, the music sound like some fuckin rave music.I prefer the house- techno music of the first 2 games.

  • They should have made Axel, Ken's bad ass brother in a series of Capcom Vs SNK or something like that.

  • @Punj4biUK Yuzo Koshiro didn't compose much of this game's soundtrack. just a few songs. Most of this game was composed by Motohiro Kawashima.

  • Ken is not the only one that has a dragon punch

  • sounds like a rave party! But I miss the heart and soul of SOR 1 and 2 vin the soundtrack. It isn' t bad, but I prefer 1 and 2 better. I think 3 sounds more like badass! ;)

  • any1 wana play sor 3 online with me?

  • This guy never ever includes the best tracks of the game. if you want some awesome music he didn't include on this video, check out SoR3 music dub slash, Cycle, The entire track of Shinobi reverse, Poets 2, and others as well.

  • Oh im sorry, I was distracted by the SHIT WRECKING going on!

  • SOR3's soundtrack suited the game so much, it was serious, pumping and downright aggressive.

and l love this sleazy electronic acid music influence.

  • Very unique and ahead of its time.

  • The song at 3:43 is amazing, mainly the first part, the hard beat carries that slow melody perfectly. This is different from the other two SOR soundtracks, but in a good way. I highly respect all three.

  • This is one of the best trillogys made and the best coop game to.

Also any game is great if you can play as a boxing kangaroo beating up thugs XD.

  • petitiononline(dot)com/streets4/petition.html

  • In my opinion, this is a superbly written video game soundtrack that is amazingly forward-thinking--it still sounds very modern, and it's all just incredibly infectious, heavy, and downright evil. Such an impressive articulation and effective use of tones that another composer might see as useless sound effects.

  • i always felt like the SOR series lacked the adrenaline rush qualities of final fight - probably didnt help that i had a PAL megadrive with the 17% slowdown.

i prefer the sor2 music too.....

  • eh... shiva was lethal with that cheapass elbow smash =x

  • this game has to use one of the best sega genesis sound engines.same goes for the dude that made devilish it's music.

  • Damn, Axel was raping hard in that first stage. Owned Shiva without getting hit ONCE.

  • My favorite song is at 3:40

  • @mistersonic93 Yea that song call The Poets. It the best song on SOR3 if you ask me

  • The melody at 4:20 sounds very familiar

  • Play as Shiva:

Defeat Shiva during normal game play, then hold B until the next level starts. Continue game play until losing all current lives. Display the various characters on the continue screen to select Shiva. Note: Shiva can not use any weapons. His twirling spin kick is activated by pressing A.

  • @fucksakeletmejoin I was just wondering, how in the hell is he/she playing as Shiva. I wish i know that back in the day.

  • I was 2 years old when this game came out. To this day I still play it.

  • Sega created the best system in history imo with the megadrive (im uk lol) with dreamcast being second. The amount of AAA titles that system had is unbelieveable, this being one of them out of a butt load.

  • I can't choose a best soundtrack from the three games. They're all equally awesome, though this one sounds quite different from the first two.

Sounds like something Trent Reznor would dream up.

  • Wait how do you unlock shiva?

  • Everyone can have an opinion...even if they are completely wrong. SOR3 music is quite amazing...

  • I remember sitting for 10 minutes listening to the character select before remembering that I had a game to play.

  • I chuffing loved everything about this game - my brother and I... well, we spent a whole lot of time on this! I must tell him about this megamix.

The person playing as Axel on this is supreme!!!

  • gotta love the SOR3 soundtrack! whoever is playing on this gameplay footage is fkn godlike at sor3 XD

  • yeah i really dug these games and I thought 3 had the best music

  • sorry, but i think the music from sor3 fails in comparison to the two previous....

  • Lol I was freestylin to the first one all extra fast

  • Me too, it ended up sounding kinda hot lol

  • This game needs another sequel but it should be a side-scroller with 3d elements.

  • completely and utterly agree my friend...

  • Comment removed

  • good memories of this game.

  • In my opinion, this game have one of the bests soundtracks of all time. And that fit really well the game.

  • it's a strange soundtrack behind the STOR 1 & 2

    but awesome !

  • my subwoofer IS GOING INSANE!!!

  • the music here is ripped using a diff. emulator. sounds a little diff in places.

And as far as I know, the Megadrive IS the Genesis. Just different name. There may have been a difference between the Megadrive and the Megadrive 2...yes there are 2 versions, look it up

  • I dont care what nobody says, This game had THE SICKEST 8- bit video game soundtrack EVER.

  • 16 Bit.

And don't forget - on the Genesis:

Alien 3, Contra Hard Corps, Adventures of Batman and Robin (Yes, check it out) ...

Anybody else got some recommendations for great Genesis Music?

  • Gauntlet IV, my friend. Gauntlet IV.

  • I really like Thunderforce 4 - everything about that game oozes class. The music is sublime too. Also the Sonic games do it for me too. I agree with Alien 3 and Contra Hard Corps - both class games with kicking tunes.

  • Alisia Dragoon had excellent music. :3

  • 3 is awesome in so many ways. The music is so fitting. It's just soo hyper and relative to the techno/industrial scene. This is my fav SOR actually. Faster gameplay!!

  • Why is this the only game in the history of the Genesis that had a kick drum that sounds great? It's like Sega was holding onto the secrets of the YM2612 until a series proved itself worthy of having 'the one true kick'.

  • That's so true about the Megadrive/Genesis sound processors, Despite the disparaging comments levelled at SOR3 music, which I disagree with, it is worth noticing how clean the sound is compared to the majority of games released at the time. I used to spend hours recording on tape Megadrive Soundtests, Right from the first imported Megadrive I had the phono connector linked to a 300W sound system, I was a soundtest junkie back then!

  • haha me too I was and still am a soundtest junkie but didnt have the gear or know how to record it. Nice one dude.

  • Many games had good kick drums: zero wing, contra, wolf child, gauntlet iv, steel empire, thunder force iv, biohazard battle.. and of course the later sonic games. Much fewer had techno soundtracks with fat bass though.

  • i gotta honestly say i love the one ar 3:44 the best.

  • Sega really needs to release this on xbox live arcade. SoR2 is fun, but 3 is such a better game.

  • hopefully they will soon

  • 2 was actually the best.

    1 had the best music.

    3 was just ok.

i am still looking for 1 and 3.

    i own 2

  • nah... the two are complementary.. you combine the two (like remake) and it's a very hard game ;)

  • right

  • I beat this game yesterday lol!!

    It's a special game,nowadays they don't make games like this,believe me...

  • How did you get to control that "sonya"?

  • one of the best sega games was Jurasik park

Streets of rage also good (i beated it only 1 time :D)

  • i have jurassic park for sega.

i also have streets of rage 2.

    i am looking for 1 and 3.

and jurasic park is good but streets of rage is the best

  • I agree, the first beat is nasty

  • 6.27 sounds like something quality that "air" or "royksop" would make. I always enjoyed the end credit music. I think that could be it.??

  • aint as good as the first SOR...

  • 2:16 sounds like soca a little bit

  • the first beat...is fire...that was exactly what i wanted to hear

  • People always say how great the soundchip was the Genesis, but I truly have to disagree. While the music is off decent quality, it's compressed to all hell and it basically mushes the music and their parts together that doesn't really hold up on it's own. With the MegaDrive quality, the original composer's intentions are held intact, so props on using the MegaDrive tracks and NOT the Genesis.

  • But are not Megadrive and Genesis simply different, regional names for the same system?

  • I thought the MegaDrive was the like the CD attachment for the Genesis? Either way, if the music here is indeed ripped straight from the MegaDrive version, play the Genesis version and you will hear the difference.

  • Wrong on all accounts, Mega Drive is the original name for the Genesis and was used in all regions except America. This game didn't even have a CD version. And the only thing compressed here is some drum samples, but they still sound clearer and deeper than most snes games.

  • MegaDrive and Genesis are one in the same. certain game carts including SoR 2&3 were built with a extra chip used toward processing sounds along with the synth. Konami did this all the time with the NES

if you listen to some of the cymbal hit sounds in this vid, they don't sound quite like they should were they being played off the Genesis/MD. the chip is difficult to properly rip

  • There were no extra chips in SOR cartridges, the sounds you heard were from superior programing & a better sound engine driven by the needs of Yosho Koshiro. They also had the advantage of being the largest capacity cartidges when each were released which allowed more sophisticated use of samples etc. Those of us that were in the games industry when the Megadrive/Genesis launched knew after The Revenge of Shinobi that the sound chips were barely being used by 90% of games released!

  • 3:44 the best track on the game imo

  • The music is completely different from the others, but it has its own charm to it. It also fits the whole "fighting robots & cyborgs" theme to it, too.

  • ive always thought that the thrid was more industrial/rave soundtrack still good but i prefer the second

  • That's a better way describe the music. I prefer 2 as well.

  • The music in streets of rage 3 added to the improvements of game play over the second one. The music was a bit more sinister in sound.

  • <3 Motohiro Kawashima.

Yuzo Koshiro got a little too experimental for my tastes in this one, but he made some really interesting tunes. Not something I would listen to on my own time, but it's still fascinating.

  • pure PWANAGE =)

  • I just realized the character select music sounds like Sneaker Pimps - Tesko Suicide

  • My faves are 3:05-3:43 and 6:25-7:37.

    Shiva ownz! :)

  • Music: 4:05 - 4:35, great

  • this game its awkward tunes where actually pretty awesome.

  • @aryinc awkward tunes? are you on drugs?

  • @ensanguined2

are you? they are awkward.from slow to up tempo strange measures from 4/5 to 27/28 the entire game has music written in progressive measures, almost jazzy.but i like this music but it''s not you're standart fare.streets of rage 2 is musically the best one, then comes 1 then 3.

  • @aryinc firstly, 4/5 and 27/28 are not even real time signatures and secondly all of this music is in 4/4... justlike most western music. stop trying to sound like you know what you're talking about.

  • @Immryr

then you havn't been long in the music well are you meshuggah for instance plays in 27/28 now you're theori metallica played in 7/8 on justice,i know little bout theori but i know how this sounds similair to other bands i heard slayer plays in strange measures to,those strange measure have that split second sound.and what if i'm wrong does that make me human or a bad person due to lyining over a simple thing.80% of the time i knwo what's going on you read 1 post and asume all is BS.

  • @aryinc congratulations 7/8 is a real time signature! you're getting there my friend. honestly 27/28 is not a time signature, if you can show me what a note that is one 28th of a bar looks like on a stave i would be impressed, mostly because it does not exist. and i don't care what you think meshugah play in, we are talking about the music on this game, which is all in 4/4 just like every song you hear on commercial radio, it even has a four to the floor kick drum just to give it away!

  • @Immryr

not every song there are 1 or 2 songs in this game that have a strange signature like let's say on metallica justice for all,i'm not that good with theorie,i played in several bands but i mostly folowed the drummer and the singer and the other guitarist and did my solo's to it and it worked out decent.í've been a guitarist for like 4 years and i'm doing fine with it even without theorie,my ears are pretty good trained.i can manage with many difficult song yet i like to give a twist.

  • @Immryr

i'm really not F...cking with ya,i don't have specteculair videos yet more like rough demos or something but you can find a few on deadlyalianceband channel, allot of videos aren't impressive to me but that what you get when you have to make when you've got a channel,it can't be empty.

  • streets of rage 2 music might be more praised, but for me i think the third one was the best. it was more hardcore in my opinion

  • Def more hardcore! I think this one was more dynamic with a better range of sounds and differences.

  • it took sor a step further idd,how about a part4 to make the definite conclusion, still great series sore they stopped.

  • i still remember this shit

  • Good looking out!!

  • Thank you so much for this. Its awesome man.
