I was wanting to rip my hair out because A) My teacher doesn't really know what she's talking about so why in the world is she teaching COLLEGE LEVEL MATH and B) I've gotten so confused at the simple equations I don't know what's what anymore...anndd her brilliant piano playing makes my day.

  • @11allthatjazz that's nothing. You should watch Lang Lang's faces and you'll have your homework done in no time :P and yeah, uchida is freakin amazing!!

  • To everyone hating on the faces she makes: You try playing piano that fast, and try NOT to make faces.

  • crowd should have stood up during the applause , that was great

  • I want to marry this woman.

  • @StimulateYoMind that's understandable :)

  • Holy ****!

  • @metstudioversions don't judge a book by its cover . they are pretending .XD

  • She looks like John Lennon

  • @ThePremia99 You need to get your eyes checked.

  • Mitsuko interpreta magistralmente a Mozart. Da gusto escucharla. Corchuelo1

  • awesome

  • this is why she's my favorite pianist!!!

  • How does a video of such majestic music serve as an opportunity for so many people to make fools of themselves in the comments? :)

  • One of the very best and live at that...

  • i love how her face let me see her passion

  • love uchida!!! XXXD

  • THIS is music.

  • taylor gang or listen to this shit

  • nice tempo! :D

  • yey!

  • Perhaps a tribute to Nodame Cantabile? Or perhaps Nodame Cantabile was based on this performer. =)

  • @ConfusionContour

Maybe Nodame Cantabile was based on this performer, I don't know because I haven't read it. But this is so because this Concerto performance took place on 1989 in Vienna, and Nodame Cantabile came out in the early 2000s.

  • この曲を始めて聞きました。立派な曲がこんな優秀なピアニストに心を込めて轢かれると最高です。

  • She is brilliant

  • Mozart, I LOVE U :)

  • My ears do not deserve this, My Soul craves it.

  • とても素晴らしい演奏、ありがとうございます。

    私にとっては、心のビタミン。

    この曲を聴いていると元気を取り戻せます。

  • @marombadoSSA can't be worse than Lang Lang !!

  • Too fast, too fast.

It's not an exercise by Czerny, or Hanon!

    IT IS A RONDO!!!

  • @giocziffra look at the indication, it says RONDO PRESTO, presto means FAST

  • @manuelspcool your an idiot

  • Comment removed

  • @manuelspcool - my dear fellow music connoisseur, you sent that very disparaging remark to yourself. Might want to clean the soot from your face, clean out the canon and reload. ;) (Or, better yet, you may consider calming down and enjoying the music without engaging in childish comments in a public forum.) Can we all just get along?

  • @jlaynetn sorry for been such a kid You're right this is the most highest art, so don't let pay attention to some foul langueje =) enjoy the Klavier Konzert

  • Comment removed

  • @giocziffra --Presto--get your metronome out.

  • it's really enjoyable to watch her performance when she puts herself so much into it ^^

    me liiike

  • Wow!!

  • She's brilliant - and this is fast becoming my new favourite concerto. Saw it the other night in Dublin, perfect show. It's got the scope of later-Mozart, with great physical energy and an eccentric profusion of ideas.

I must confess, no composer has ever been so generous - or generously endowed - with their creativity as Wolfgang. He never ceases to amaze me...

  • Typo from one of my comments, lol. I meant "will" not "wil".

  • Só um tolo tentaria dizer...

    Um capeta por exemplo "inexistente"

    Carlos Felipe

  • Não tenho o que dizer, na verdade, '" acho que a itenção verdadeira da música é essa"(?!)

    Ou NÃOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    AHAHAHAHHA

    Carlos Felipe

  • You Cheat The?

  • 9 people couldn't find the "Like" Button when they watched this video. They all clicked "Dislike"!!!!

  • @Lawrencelovespiano i know seriously! how could you dislike this...crazy

  • @dellabcollins They must have problems with humanity as a whole.

  • Hi, "TheGreatPerformers", may I ask where you got the recording of this concert?

  • This wil always be my favourite piece.

  • tuto, cito, jacunde!

  • the most ellegant music ever written...

  • Oh and by the way she's playing everything by memory so that makes it even more spectacular

  • Thumbs up if you lolled at the way Tate conducted

  • I love Tates conducting.

  • Prachtig! En virtuoos gespeeld!

  • Magnificent real Mozart !!!!

  • This woman controls everything.Such beautiful shaps. She can make a single note say something. She is a revelation. The slow movement will be one of the great performances of all time.I have her in all the sonatas .We are lucky she alive in our era .She can make worlds in a few minutes! Her Berg sonata !!!

  • As a pianist, I think most people are too concerned with perfection technically and forget about the musicality. However, Mitsuko Uchida is perfect at not only playing technically perfectly, but also musically. Bravo!

  • @ngpiano72 As average classical music listener, I prefer musicality over technical perfection (especially in concert). Maybe I am an exception. Anyway, I agree: Mitsuko Uchida is perfect in both way.

  • I love 2:24.

  • no words to describe, its hard to listen to modern music after hearing this, it all sounds like garbage compared to this video, thank you for posting.

  • @beantownhero09 AMEN!

  • @beantownhero09. I agree. Absolutely. Greetins from Spain.

  • Nobody has ever pwned Mozart.

  • 1:03 - Fat conductor!! :D

  • @Montyleeny14 The conductor has a spinal condition...he conducts even though he's disabled. What a determined and courageous "fat conductor" don't you think? Ignorance...

  • @Ckorn123 It's not ignorance, if I was ignorant I wouldn't bother noticing what the hell was wrong with this conductor. LOL :ppp

  • wonderful

  • The perfect piece to wash away a rainy Friday night!

  • This music fills the soul with light! Bravo MOZART!!!

  • Her performance is absolutely phenomenal. I am totally speechless. AMAZING. Words can't describe this .... only trained ears and minds can..... simply just perfect...

  • @CHARLIETWW - Agree completely - that music is heaven on earth! Bravo Mitsuko!!!

  • she is so beauty

  • She's playing so perfectly and quickly at the same time that it's like they've submerged as one blob of flesh (couldn't find a more attractive way of saying) - I thought that affect would only be possible in films. She's absolutely awesome!

  • Well done Yoko Ono!

  • Jonas brothers pwns Mozart

  • @Jakdakson - everyone has an opinion, I guess. Let's see if the Jonas Brothers are still being listened to 200 years from now. I wonder how you can draw breath with such a lack of brain cells...and that's MY opinion.

  • @mariner719 I was jokin'

  • @Jakdakson thank God!

  • @mariner719 :P

  • @Jakdakson - now that you mention it, I believe that it's actually The Archies that pwn Mozart.

  • @Jakdakson YOU HAVE BEEN JUDGED - GO HOME AND FEEL BAD ABOUT YOURSELF - OTHER PEOPLE ARE BETTER THAN YOU - AND YOUR HAIR IS STUPID - AND YOU SMELL OF BANDAIDS

  • @Jakdakson everyone has an opinion ... but yours is stupid

  • @linceed87 it is sad that you think the jonas brothers "pwn" mozart as you put it. very sad...

  • @Jakdakson Can you explain to me who are the "Jonas brothers"? Never heard about them before.

  • @Jakdakson Can you explain to me who the "Jonas brothers" are? Never ever heard about them before, although I listen to music since more than 55 years.

  • @astronome9 - the fact that you've listened to music for more than 55 years probably explains why you have NOT heard of the Jonas brothers. They are a pop music band that largely appeals to young teenage girls. I suppose they're fine for the genre they represent, but of course, it's not going to compare to Mozart, nor should we really compare the two.

  • what a beautifil menuetto fragment!!!!

Einstein said that this piano concerto is the "Mozart's Eroica"

    diid you know youtubers?

  • FREE SPEECH FTW. She look like some japanese pornstar looking at a dick hahahha

  • Mozart can be played this fast? Reminiscent of the super-fast performances by Goebel of the Brandenburg Concertos (J.S. Bach), which offended some, but made many performances seem bland. The more I listen to Mozart, the more mathematical, Bach-like, and mathematical his works seem. The piano concertos are like no other music, and that even includes Chopin. Mozart is truly more advanced.

  • fast

  • lmao

Her facial expressions made me giggle,,

But she is insanley talented (:

  • children please. She does this VERY well. Reminds me of me. And God forbid she should feel it and express it in her face. Of course, you would be unhappy if she were an unexpressive asian ... then you would call her cold. Admit it you know it's true.

  • @darnott44

    Hm...

    I wouldn't have been unhappy,,

Nor would I have called her cold,,

I simply would have giggled a little less.

    And another thing,,

Not trying to be a total bitch,,

But do she honestly remind you of yourself??

    Because if she does,,

You must be insanely awesome with a piano.

  • It's a shame you and people like you are allowed free speech.

  • Hey, Kids! If you think SHE has a BEEG repertoire, check out the great Turkish pianisy IDIL BERET! She plays everything by everybody! All of the Mozart, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Beethoven (Incuding the Symphonies!), etc.

By the way, Uchida is marvelous!

  • Comment removed

  • @0419Michelle Yeah, so what? Every concert pianist plays by memory.

  • I'm so glad that you found that necessary. You must have so many more "enlightening" things to say. Yeah, I think I'm making you my role model. You blessed me with words of wisdom. Oh, and hope you feel fantastic for putting down someone you don't know. YOU ARE INCREDIBLE.

  • what is this I dont even

  • The reason I said that is because I've seen her play many different pieces. She has so much passion to play that it is awesome that she can remember so many that it just falls off her fingers. That's what. Why don't you show me your playing, since you are the expert.

  • Why so upset? anyways, yeah, her repertoire is pretty big but there are others who have a big repertoire too. Don't misunderstand me though, I think she's a great artist. By the way, I'm neither an expert nor do I know how to play this piece.

  • I want to hear this ALL day, EVERYDAY!!!!!!!! This could complete my life; listening to Mozart through Mitsuko, feeling every emotion of them both; leave everything else behind and FEELING the music with eyes closed.

  • Mitsuko really gives life to this piece.

She looks very intense and deliberate, but for some reason I really like it.

If she is still alive, I would kill to watch her perform in person.

  • @ZamatoElite

She is still alive, she is 62 years old right now, wait until 2018, she will be having a lot of concerts for her 70th birthday. I would do anything to see her perform in person also.

  • she is amazing..i love her..before i die i would like 2 meet her, and say u are my insparacion..would u play a piece with me ;)

  • She is the best interpreter of Mozart! I love this Concerto Movement, it's called, "Jeunehomme". Fantastic playing!

  • i love you mitsuko

  • The greatest performance of Mozart! I love her..,..

  • Mitsuko is excellent full stop!

  • A musical treasure! TY!

  • Beautifully inspired playing! TY James

  • I disagree with the notion one should have a certain mental state to preform on high level.. Lots of great performers have all kind of different personas..

It has to do with personal refference IMO, one tend to like what connects with your own psychylogical type. That is why there is only subjective definition of art.

  • man she plays fast....

  • this is a joy fomr the soul.

  • Don't forget to give credit to Mendelsohnn. He was certainly a great champion of Bach.

  • wow, whats with those comments below? Life isn't perfect. ALL of us will surely feel sadness, happiness etc., whether we are musicians or not. Most importantly, we should have a clear conscious in mind. Thats how you live your life in content. If ur past is ugly, then just move on, Life still have to go on!

  • BRILLINAT!!!!!! loved every single part of it.

she is wonderfull and a great interprter!!

    shes amazing

  • BRAVO!!!!!!

  • having said that, you did point out something interesting.

in theory, there are some artists who control their art, and there are those who become let it take control over them. obviously, the former is healthier for the artist because s/he is more likely to lead a balanced life.

  • I love this piece, and her performance!

  • lol @ idiots posting text walls of new age crap on this.

I really enjoyed Ms. Uchida's performance. This music is invigorating and exciting, and her energetic playing captures the liveliness. 5/5 stars!

  • Music dont have any colour, cast or country. Music produces in human souls which is the part of God.

  • Music is external. Only certain people have figured how to channel it, like Benjamin Franklin educated himself and pondered the philosophy of everything before he decided to make his assistant fly a kite in a storm.

Mozart had it figured out, and the rest of us are still trying to understand. No one writes piano like this guy did. No one.

  • Music is not the external. If you have not music in your DNA no body will enjoy except you only. According to the Bible Music belong from the Spiritual World. Do you know Lucifer was one of the ark angel of God, had the responsibility for Praise and Worship to God. Today He is Satan. If some one who is not in Christ but have great Music in him sooner or later possess by demons. Most of the world famous Musician never had peace in their heart & mind. Michel Jackson is one of the resent example.

  • Some one who learn music present his music through his mind & understanding. But some one who born as a musician make their own music. Their music and composition becomes an institute. They bring new thing and extraordinary. Because their music comes from their spirit or their inner being. Even they becomes richest person and surrounded by millions of fans, but still they are alone and without rest in their inside man. Find out yourself. You will be shock. Mozart was never happy entire his life.

  • I know the tortured artist phenomenon intimately I'm afraid. I don't subscribe to religion and frankly I kind of don't understand what you are saying, but it seems like a deep thought that I cannot comprehend.

All I have to say about performers, writers, and artists' general is that you have to be uber sensitive to produce good work. I personally believe they are more tapped into the environment than most, be it social or spiritual. Thank the god you believe in, that they exist at all. :-)

  • I am talking a very simple things not a deep thoughts. We music lover enjoy the music and Drama but never came to know the sadness and loneliness of an Artist or Musician. If you go to see a Circus, most enjoyable and funny part belong to Joker. But have you ever seen them behind the stage? Same way, Behind the lime light all great Musician and Artist live in fear. Without the pain and broken heart An Artist can not win the hearts of their fans. Just find out a biography of any famous Artist.

  • u are retarded. we cannot assume how uchida feels. additionally, even if we did know, it wouldn't be the same for every artist out there. many artists and musicians find much joy in their work; while many are tortured, a lot of this has to do with a struggle with society. perhaps you should consider it from a different perspective?

i appreciate you expressing your point of view, but maybe if you had more direction to and graciousness in your comments, people would listen to you.

  • Problem create in human heart because of bitterness, competition and pressure of giving best performance again and again. All problem starts after jealousy and insecurity because of new bingers. Just like a lion kill all the male baby lions to protect his existence which may be replace by coming one. This is the law of nature. Some thing must come down when it reach on the top. Believe me or not I have accomplish with many world famous Indian classical artiest and found the same problem in all.

  • Realtyofislam:

As a Christian and a musician i couldn't disagree with you more. Read up on your music history! Bach (one of the most well-respected musicians ever) was very popular during his life, had a large and seemingly happy family. You should not say such general comments, you will be proven wrong.

  • Sir, I never said for all Musician. But I said for most of all. Means there are some famous Musician who are living good happy life. But they are very few. May be only 1 or 2 %. I am sorry I dont wanted to debate or hurt you. My opinion is based on my own experience. It may not be fit with your experience. I am sorry for any disagree. I love Music. I honour all the great Musician. Over all they not just entertain us but some time their music encourages us during the time of our emotional hurt.

  • realityofislam, I just find it amazing how because of your "experience" you can make up a percentage like 1 or 2% who live happy lives. Tell us your story but don't assume everyone is like you.

  • Write me top ten most famous Musicians name who are not alive now. I will give you all their detail. How they lived, how was their family life, how many divorce they have been faced and how they died. Just give me top ten great musician whom whole world knows. I hope then you will be agree with me. I dont know how I can put my opinion in front of you. You must understand People who are very Emotional becomes mental sick quick than the normal person. True Musicians must have Emotions.

  • realyofishlam, isn't Google great?

  • realtyofislam_Every body should have emotions.About mental sickness it depends.I don't agree. I give some names: Eduardo Mata,Marta Argerich, Baremboim, Muti, Mariella Devia, Zubin Mehta, Mehli Mehta, Diana Damrau, Schlomo Mintz, Myun Wung Chung, Pappano.tell me others for your theory of course

  • realtyo: you cannor hurt a person with your words. The person receiving your words, however, has the power to hurt himself. I want you to think about that. Do you think your words can be a tool to hurt others?

  • I am sorry. My intention was never to hurt any one. I am an Indian Classical Musician. I spend all of my life in practicing and performing. Do you know what I have discovered, my senior world famous Artist dominated me. They felt jealousy, insecurity for their own name and fame. They never support some one whose music become challenge for them. Homosexuality, proud, greediness, anger, jealousy and fear of lose their fame and name are very common. This is the main reason they die before the time

  • realtyo: you are correct. Look at what happened to Maria Callas. And I don't know why the Russian conductor Kirill Kondrashin died in 1981. As you said, you must have peace of mind to be really great. That's why I love Wilhelm Kempff. Some of them died at a ripe age, like Arthur Rubinstein

  • Not only peace of mind but with good heart filled with humbleness, and supportive nature to other Artist. Without good and sensitive heart every human get sickness but An Artist loose their peace of mind. I dont know whether you will understand or Not But This is spiritual issue with the soul of an Artist.

  • Stress, Depression, Anger, Moody, Heart Disease, Cancer, Mental illness these are the very common diseases may be found among the Artist and Musicians. Do you know Why ?Because All these comes from fear, jealousy, pride, negativity, emotional breakdown and most of all insecurity or fear of loss. As I said in my previous comments that sooner or later they possess by demons. Because Satan have the power to give you any things of this world except peace and joy of the heart. He himself is restless.

  • I am sorry, I think I am away from my track. I enjoy Music. I hope you enjoy too. But one thing I want to share, Music is the gift of God to men kind. Music and all entertaining things are meant for men. Man are not meant for all these things. Problem starts when An Artist submit himself to his art. We he dedicate his life to his art. Then these things becomes his master. Believe it or not But after this Music becomes a Spiritual things. Which is very dangerous for an Artist or for any one.

  • Haydn, yo.

  • OMG!! I love this piece!! I like her face expressions!!

  • hell yes

  • yes, but not so sure about shirt
