I remember that well. Dabir's selection for the national team was wrong and out of the team coach's hands. he was, as the coach said, "imposed" to the team!

@brands1 I don't quite remember the cause, but I think he had some injuries, like shoulder, which kept him low key in his training for the games. He was EXTREMELY popular in Iran back then. So I guess that put him on the favorable side for the games by the administration who were not necessarily wrestlers. The massive taping of his shoulder is I guess part of the story. Others may have more detailed info on his 2004 story. Cheers!
