He admits it in Killswitch's documentary, his says "I was up there screaming my guts out and that's not the proper way to scream. There's a balance between passion and technique, I didn't have all the technique I needed." Jesse's screams are yet still brtual on AOJB and all that. So technically Howard is a better screamer bcuz he has had training. They are both very talented so stop arguing

fuck that. the only reason Harold sounds more "controlled" is because he doesn't put nearly as much emotion into singing and I guarantee that most of you've seen of Harold is their DVD, which is an unfair example because not only is the audio quality a million times better but all of Harolds vocals are pitch corrected. THat's why it SEEMS like he has less trouble hitting notes perfectly. He doesn't and Jesse has a much more powerfull voice and it's better sounding IMO

Jesse Leech has the absolute worst screaming voice. First of all you can't understand a thing he says and secondly it sounds as though it causes him great pain to scream (this is actually a fact, he left the band because he wrecked his throat on tour and wanted to spend more time with his family)... on top of that the firt two KsE albums were not very good because of his horrible vocals. I simply don't understand how anyone could like Leech's vocals at all.

I'm not too picky about the vocals, Jesse was awesome, Howard is awesome too, and while Jesse's sound fit KsE perfectly, Howard knows what he's doing. The only thing I have to say is the 1st two albums were awesome because they still had some aftershock/overcast value to them, then Howard came in the picture and don't get me wrong I love their new stuff, but its just not mosh material like Jesse's stuff. Don't worry I'm a loyal Killswitch fan.
COmpletely disagree. The first two albums are more enjoyable then the two they made with howard. THese recordings are poor quality. KSE werent even an established band with a label then. Jesse's voice is more suited for KSE in my opinion, much more fluid then howard's. Howard tends to be a rough with some of his screams which takes away from the guitar work.
jesse is so good you can't even lower him down to the level where you could compare him to howard - totally different, worlds apart but prelude is definitely the funniest killswitch song ever written!
alive is my fav album by far, even lyrically, not sooo much melody in every chorus starting 30 secs into each song... howard definatly made up for his absence and does the job, but this was the least popular, but in my opinion greatest state of killswitch... still love killswitch to death

My Curse beat's the shit out of anything Jesse wrote, don't get me wrong I love Jesse, but listen to the End of Heartache (album) it is their best one so far in my opinion, I don't know if they'll ever be able to top that, I look forward to the new album that is coming out this spring

They are more about unity and shit then love. Besides I don't worry all too much about the meaning so much as the musical aspect of the songs. Some people listen to music to get inspired or derive meaning, that's fine, but then it probably means you aren't listening to some stuff from a musical aspect. Non è un fatto di chi è più bravo o meno, il fatto sta che hanno voci e modo di cantare differenti, di conseguenza con l'arrivo di Howard hanno anche dovuto un pochino di più adattare la musica per consentirgli di esprimersi al meglio. I wish the quality of this recording was just a little bit better, it's still a great performance, but it would be excellent with higher audio/video quality. But it is 02 where they weren't that known, so I guess it is expected.

he also did a one-off gig with howard aswell. correct me if i am wrong.
and austinmyslinsky. jesse didnt write most of it. i would say he written about 2/5 on his own and he written some with howard and howard wwritten the rest. so in total jesse wrote about 1/4 of it. so howard wrote the most.

Jesse Leech has the absolute worst screaming voice. First of all you can't understand a thing he says and secondly it sounds as though it causes him great pain to scream (this is actually a fact, he left the band because he wrecked his throat on tour and wanted to spend more time with his family)... on top of that the firt two KsE albums were not very good because of his horrible vocals. I simply don't understand how anyone could like Leech's vocals at all.

yes Howard is better technically, but imo he sounds almost too perfect for this music. Alot of people like Jesse's style because he is just giving it all he has got. Just screaming his lungs out. Atleast that is what i think is awesome about him. Also he is alot better then Howard when it comes to writing lyrics. Well thats my opinion anyways

I'm not too picky about the vocals, Jesse was awesome, Howard is awesome too, and while Jesse's sound fit KsE perfectly, Howard knows what he's doing. The only thing I have to say is the 1st two albums were awesome because they still had some aftershock/overcast value to them, then Howard came in the picture and don't get me wrong I love their new stuff, but its just not mosh material like Jesse's stuff. Don't worry I'm a loyal Killswitch fan.

COmpletely disagree. The first two albums are more enjoyable then the two they made with howard. THese recordings are poor quality. KSE werent even an established band with a label then. Jesse's voice is more suited for KSE in my opinion, much more fluid then howard's. Howard tends to be a rough with some of his screams which takes away from the guitar work.

alive is my fav album by far, even lyrically, not sooo much melody in every chorus starting 30 secs into each song... howard definatly made up for his absence and does the job, but this was the least popular, but in my opinion greatest state of killswitch... still love killswitch to death

Don't forget that their equipment was complete shit at the time of this recording (and that the recording is much cheaper than the DVDs that Howard sings on). Howard Jones is a skilled singer, but his lyrics are a fucking joke compared to Jesse's.
