  • MSNBC execs boot Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews

Even MSNBC has had enough of these 2 dolts.

  • Fox is agenda television, the war between secular progressives and traditionalists only exists in the Fox News Network

  • Most people don't really have a clue what Fox News does. It offers upfront and honest commentary from pundits. They tell you who the pundits are and who aren't.

O'Reilly would never be accused of yelling so much unless he had alternative viewpoints on his show.

Both sides are represented even though many of the hosts are Conservative.

  • Come on Advocate ... it's more than that and nowhere near as benign as you make out.

Almost everything on Fox "News" is nuanced and tendentiously scripted to appease and inflame conservative and reactionary views.

It seems to be done in order to inculcate the frequently specious rational that supports the current neoconservative agenda.

Sorry for the intellectual jargon but 500 characters forces concision.

  • The truth is that you just don't notice it when the MSM pushes liberalism.

  • No I disagree. Bias is evident at times in all mainstream media and the tactics employed by Fox are utilised by other networks. Fox is however, far more prolific in it's use esp. in political/economic reporting.

I have no particular problem with this per se. My concern is the artifice in presenting it as impartial and objective.

  • But, Fox does not purport to be objective. In fact, all of its commentators come right out and say what they believe.

Shepard Smith is the exception where he is more news-based, but he is more objective.

What Fox does is have partisan commentators debate issues with other partisan commentators.

  • The underpinning brand indentification strategy of Fox is evident in the two oft repeated slogans "Fair and Balanced" and "We report, You decide"

The intention is clearly to create a perception of impartiality and objectivity.

Even the pundits use this pretense to prop up their credibility. (eg. O'Rielly et al)

    MORE

  • Fair and Balanced does not mean objective.

Balanced could be two people who are polar opposite of the political spectrum arguing.

  • MORE

Their "balanced" view smacks of tokenism on a regular basis and their reporting is frequently contrived and nuanced to create a perception that suits a conservative agenda thereby coercing acquiesence.

  • Look, if Keith Olbermann just came out and said, "I'm a liberal, progressive, etc., and everything I say is thought that lense....like Glenn Beck does, nobody would care that much about Olbermann.

  • "speaker"--As I said before, liar, combat the OVERWHELMING examples of liberal bias before you say ANYTHING against the Right. Do you understand?

The Left has absolutely nothing of substance in which to defend itself, so it turns to attacks. Abortion is murder and injustifiable. It knows these facts to be true and simply calls its opponents "haters of women."

    What?????

Gay rights are unconstitutional. Homosexuality is perverse. Liberals simply try to call the other side, "bigots."

  • "speaker"--Nothing intellectual about what you typed.

FoxNews has its flaws, but it 99.9% of the media is liberal. You solely attack the 0.1% that isn't. You've got issues in your contradictory "logic", my dishonest friend.

Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, Katie Couric, Dan Rather, and many, many others are nothing more than the trash of the earth--as are you, since you support these people and their bigoted, nonsensical propaganda-pushing.

    Get your facts straight.

  • ..... idiot!

  • Oh Yes! Oh yes! oh Yes we can! and even the extra-ordinary effort Fixed Nonsense made over the past week to smear him and echo the repub bullshit couldn't stop a LANDSLIDE!

But that's just 'cos we are mindless sheep right? nothing to do with our reason and intelligence being engaged by a humble and charimatic leader.

Yes we can .... Yes we have .... Yes we will!

  • hhaha. everyone one was feeling the same way.. what the??? lmao

  • The only reason I'd turn to Fox News is if I wanted to vomit on my TV screen.

  • Advocate this is total bullshit. You mendacious wanker, you have taken this completely out of context to make it appear as if they are "bashing" him. The true context is that Thompson's press people informed MSNBC that he had an IMPORTANT annoucement to make and MSNBC then cut striaght to him. Instead of an announcement he gives a substanceless bruhaha to which Matthews and Olbermann are rightly incredulous.

  • Nonsense. They said he had a speech, which they should have cut to him for. They all guessed that he was going to drop out, demonstrating just another thing that they are wrong about.

Nevertheless, they acted like little children.

  • ha! What liberal is going to turn to faux news channel?

  • Okay fine, so you are conceding that there are more conservatives in America than liberals because Fox News has more people watching it that CNN or MSNBC combined.

  • What are your sources to make such a claim? Combined would be a big number. But you have to also take into account the local news, the paper and the Internet to provide "liberals" with an alternate to Fox News.

  • Fox surpasses the ratings of CNN and MSNBC. If only Conservatives watch Fox. Then in terms of people watching Cable News, there would have to be more conservative. I don't agree with that statement, but if no liberals are watching it, that is essentially what robbie is saying.

  • Well, a joke ass lobbying hypocrite shit monger deserves to be laughed at. Seriously, people. The mainstream media is set up to polarize the two party system. It benefits both sides when they fight. Advocate1234 is one of the many confused tools in this country.

  • Ah yes, we should all learn to just agree with your big government socialist nonsense and conform.

  • Ha! if it's anybody that conforms to big government and socialism, it's you. Fred Thompson is a big government ape and has been one for years. Hell, I'm an independent, I don't need to conform to anyside, I can take care of myself.

  • Yes, you are independent, immune for politics, immune from having to back up your statements.

This is not a trick question, What do you stand for?

  • I stand for myself in success at life as a human being. There, is that too much for you to grasp? I'm gonna go fuck my wife now, I'll let go you spend the rest of your night/life arguing with people on the internet.

  • Hahahahahahaha. Fair enough.

  • NBC has dramatically lowered its standards allowing Olberman to present one sided view points of the news. In comparison, Fox News is fair and balanced. I watched NBC News for 50 years, but now I tune into ABC. I can't abide someone so partisan. Olberman reflects badly on the entire NBC network.

  • this is the best you can find lmao fox news is pure entertainment, at least msnbc has some valure behind them.

  • Really, explain to me the difference in value.

  • pretty darn unprofessional of those two

  • Thank you. Finally someone gets the purpose of the video.

  • Thanks for the video. Very, very funny. FRED is useless. Quite effective as background/character actor, for specific roles, but the lead man?? Nah.

I'm sure he had about 4 pages of speech there, including the concession bit, but he read only the 3rd page. Very funny, thanks again.

  • I'm a liberal and I ocassionally turn to Fox News if I want a chuckle. Every day, every hour fox news people attack Democrats. Finally, someone is sticking it to them.

Fred Thompson did sound like a lunatic. That's why he is routinely at the bottom in the polls. I know he rode in to be the Republican white knight, unfortunately his charisma as an actor did not translate to his real life persona.

  • Really. Al Colmes attacks Democrats? Geraldo attacks Democrats? The Democratic strategists on Fox attack Democrats?

The difference between Fox News and MSNBC, is that Fox tell you straight up when they are providing commentary and when they are providing hard news.

Hannity comes right out and says he is a Conservative. O'Reilly tells you he is a traditionalist. MSNBC and CNN try to hide it.

  • he deserved to be bashed.

  • I'm glad you think so, but these are supposed to be responsible reporters.

  • Liberals turning to fox noise? Stop taking those drugs up your ass, you idiot! What a stupid comment, but then again, it seems you are a complete imbecile.

  • So you would concede that there are more Conservatives in America than liberals since Fox News trumps MSNBC and CNN in the ratings.

  • Yes, I do. Shows the level of education in this country and how completely indefensible ideas such as creationism are being promoted, and people actually believe them! Shame on us.

  • Way to make a completely disjointed argument. I understand and support evolution. So is that your best argument: People are stupid.

  • No, I didn't say that. Only that conservatives are "easily persuaded". They don't read, they take what fox noise says as Godspell, and think that Ann "the Man" COulter is sexy! Shit!

  • You're just making baseless statements. Explain to me then how liberals are convinced that Capitalism doesn't work, and socialism is the solution.

Provide me with any explanation other than "Liberals are objectively clueless about the real world."

  • "Baseless statements"? Where have you been for the last decade? O'silly, one of your heroes, actually promotes creationism, Hannity the same. capitalism is based on the dog eat dog mentallity. We libs, want a more fair and just society. Don't you?

  • Hahaha. You did it. You purport that others are stupid and then attack Capitalism and advocate socialism. I pulled it from you in two sentences!!

    That was easy.

  • And? Your point being? Of course those are the things liberals defend. Are you maybe a neocon? A war monger, trigger happy, flag waving, God fearing, anti immigration prolifer?

  • Well, I'm not a neocon, and I'm non-religious. I was against the Iraq War.

But, I understand basic economics, which you don't. It only took me two paragraphs to extract your clear ignorance.

  • Obviously your understanding of basic economics in non existent. You should read books by Susan George, maybe you'll be able to understand something, but I doubt it.

  • Really. So according to you. Socialism is the solution to the worlds problems. Capitalism is the problem.

I just want to make sure I understand your position.

Because it was you who declared that Conservatives are stupid.

  • I guess you need to read several times straightforward statements, for you to get a general idea. Capitalism has been a problem in the sense that it created a division between the wealthy and the poor. Or, has capitalism helped the poor? Do you really believe that? Yep, conservatives are indeed stupid.

  • It is unbelievable how easy it was to pull out what you really believe.

Capitalism has brought more prosperity and wealth to the poorest people of the world than anything else. If you want to see where the masses are worse off, it is exactly the kinds of societies that depart from capitalism and free trade.

Socialism always leads to shortages and famine.

  • "It is unbelievable how easy it was to pull out what you really believe"??? You make it sound as if I were embarassed by my beliefs! Wrong! As for your assesment that "Capitalism has brought more prosperity and wealth to the poorest people of the world than anything else" is historically indefensible. Check out your facts!

  • So that is your position. You think Socialism is the answer and Capitalism is the problem, and you assert that poor are worse off under Capitalism.

Then you assert with arrogant ignorance condescension that others are stupid.

  • Your enthusiasm and need to prolong this issue proves to me that you are a lonely soul in desperate need of friendship. As I, happily have enough friends, I'm really not interested in having more friends, specially people that are right wing nuts. Read the Lugano Report by Ms. George, and try to learn something! Ta ta!

  • And you end the debate after calling everyone else stupid because they understand basic economics, that I need more friends.

I'm sure you did your side well in this discussion.

  • Now,it is clear you do NOT understand basic economics, even clearer that you are a lonely soul with no friends so you grasp desperately for any kind of human interaction. I pity you, but, please read the damn book. Ta ta!

P.S. I really don't need any more friends, I won't be your friend, sorry!

  • I'm glad you declared by fiat that others do not understand economics when you advocate price controls, rationing, conservation, and down-right socialism.

Maybe you care to look at other parts of the world where your ideas have worked wonders.

  • I used to be a socialist. But then I obtained an advanced degree in economics.

Lifter, you've offered no real arguments in support of your position. You've simply leaned on the authority of someone else, whose arguments you understand so little that you cannot paraphrase them here.

If there is any conservative here, it is you. You hark back to a time where individual freedom is curbed by "enlightened men" to save the "stupid masses" from themselves. You, sir, are advocating aristocracy.

  • You used to be a socialist, but now, you are just an idiot. On the other hand, "Einstein", we can't really debate here for the space constraints. How did I dare ask someone to actually read a book! Shame on me!

  • So in place of anything substantial, you've recoiled with an ad hominem?

Somehow with only 500 characters I've managed to maintain proper decorum. I've seen you respond on this video half a dozen times. That's 3000 characters. Perhaps you haven't devised a way to maximize your output under conditions of scarcity. Then again you are a socialist, so where would you have learned such things?

  • And you are aware you can stitch posts together right? No matter, no sense in calling for a discussion when you've already demonstrated that you'll sully the debate with needless name-calling when you feel threatened.

  • It took you two posts to mention completely meaningless crap, and yet, no hard facts, no relevant issues as to why Capitalism rocks your little world; even more damaging, no comment on the importance of reading books, oh yeah, threatened indeed! No attack, just a fact: you are indeed an idiot!

  • Liberals turning to Fox Snooze? Maybe for some comedy or to watch that slut airhead Gretchen Carlson hit on a guest or spread her legs for the camera. Other than that, there's nothing worthwhile to see.

  • I'm glad you think so, but the ratings demonstrate that the majority of people would much rather watch Fox.

  • Pretty sure that there are no liberals turning to Fox News unless they want what Fred just gave Olbermann and Matthews; a good laugh.

It was a little tacky that the staffers were joining in in the background, I will concede. But the utter vacuousness of Thompson's speech - given its timing - WAS laughable.

  • If there are no liberals watching Fox News, then you would have to concede that there are simply more Conservatives in America than liberals since the ratings of Fox are more than MSNBC and CNN combined.

  • i agree that FOX is much more ruthless propaganda, but in order to brainwash the public, left-wing propaganda like MSNBC is necessary to provide the illusion of democracy.

  • You can believe whatever you want.
