  • With regards to apical treatment, this is saved to the end of the procedure where the energy is reduced to 80-100W. Care is made to avoid damage to the sphincter. While I have not seen direct injury to the sphincter, I have seen in 2 men (older >80) with weak sphincteric control and musculature after treatment who had stress incontience- they were well treated with Physiotherapy
