Jackee really was the star of this show. This last part of the pilot proves that. The scenes without her are OK and pleasant enough but when she is on screen the show is just a lot better for me and a lot funnier. The scene at the beginning here with Marla Gibbs - Marla's delivery seems almost stiff in comparison. Jackee takes her lines and gives them real character. It's no shock she was the only cast member to get an Emmy. She was the reason to watch.
