Ya know, putting makeup on in a car can cause accidents, but recording YouTube blog entries should be just fine, I bet the other drivers on the rode can't wait to view this. I cook dinner on the way home in my car too.
I just want to say thank you to all of you for your thoughtful comments and for hanging in their with me and my vids (for those of you who keep on coming back). Much appreciation.
I like you! I assume Renetto is being sincere in his video. (But then I tend to think the best in people.) As a white person, I find myself quite often thinking too much before I speak when it comes to any racial topic. I don't know that that is good. But one good thing... Renetto hooked me up with you. You've got a new subscriber!
Ok, well you have a good view on things. I just saw your video on his video response page. You right people do have there freedom to say what they think. The freedom of speech just like i used on the video ill upload here in a sec. But im going to subscribe to you and check out your content.
I can't even get to the end of this. Sorry. I don't mean to take that tone, but you say the same thing over and over again and take 10 minutes to say two minutes worth of material. I wanted to say this in a positive way, but didn't really. You'd get more views if you used editing and thought out your point first and got to it. Otherwise it makes watching your video a bit annoying. Sorry.
SpokenLife... I agree with you about Renetto being able to say what he wants. However, I don't think black people will ever dominiate You Tube. We're only 12 percent of the country's population. I do agree that in time more Black people will do the You Tube dance, but as long as they're narrow-minded people like Renetto who believe black people are simply commodities and not valued members of the You Tube community, we'll have to fight to be viewed, favored and honored.
Of course Youtube and the internet are global. My point is that to expect a large percentage of "black" people posting video on Youtube is a no-winner. It will never be equal [numbers wise]. Because the Youtube phenomena, although global, is still very much an American phenomena. That's my point. But since you do bring up global: shouldn't YOUTUBE's community be predominately people of color since there's more color on the globe than white? I'm making a point; not insulting your intellect.
I see. But your first comment seemed to be dismissing population factor because of global access, but now you're saying it can't be global either because of lack of computers and/or broadband service.
Sounds like there are many factors. Is there any sign of broadband coming to South Africa soon?
As per the notorious video, is youtube maybe just reflecting societal ratios or possibly even, simply, that there are more white people sitting home alone with their computers, than black people? I don't think youtube can be seen as racist due to who chooses to use it.
That is a great video, you should respond to other videos on youtube with that!... It has some real potential and would drive alot of viewers your way... just like it did me. LOL! Have a great day!
Spokenlife, I think I know what the confusion is. On Renetto's video it showed your video (which I love) in the related video section and could have been mistaken for a video response because that video said "I didnt want to say anything"
I know this because I stumbled on you due to the same reason and I am so glad I did. You seem like a very nice and decent person. Hoooray!!!
Thank you so much! Incidentally, "I didn't want to say anything" was a (hopefully) comic response to one of Khayav's videos. Totally unrelated to this entire issue! LOL
After seeing Renetto's video... I've been wondering what your response would be.. thank you for posting this.... i value your opinions.. you are a wise WOMAN.
i watched the short on where you were expressing dismay in the vid that he made. my apologies if i offended you .he offended me to the core and you looked totally offended and dismayed by his statements.
Hey Weezie, No need to apologize. I wonder if you might have me confused with someone else. I never made a vid about his video; only 2 text comments. That might explain the mixup.
Is there any truth to the rumor that Princess Diana's driver was making a YouTube vid at the time of the infamous and tragic crack up? Strange days. I value your insights... thank you for sharing them

I do have a problem with Renetto's video, he is using me being black to start a controversy. If I thought he really cared, I would understand.
But given his past, he has proven himself to be a manipulator.

But on the bright side, Something like Renetto's video may draw focus to quality, sincere people like Spokenlife. It's how I found her. :-)

The country's population? What does that have to do with anything? Youtube, as the internet, is global?

keithjosef: Yes...but people in Africa don't have computers...and where they have, they don't have broadband. I'm from South Africa, it sucks :p
