@CanoPinto Because they are killing any opposition. Alawites are in all the key security and intelligence positions, it is not impossible for a minority to rule the majority. Usually dictatorships are in that form. Saddam Hussein and the Sunnis were the minority in Iraq, yet they ruled over the Shia through brutality. This is sad, every1 is betraying the Syrian people. The observers wont even look at the people that are trying to tell them whats happening, they dont even give a shit.

if you study all dictators in history, they held on to power by oppressing their people. not by the number of supporters . it's not just alwaite support assad. the gov is based on corruption,there are lots of sunnis who have a great benefit for working in a corrupt gov. they make thousands of dollars a months.
