Did I approve or U misundersood? a noctiphobia guy is not worth talking with becasue I feel negative. When I remember Dr Norman Bethune I feel inspired and positive. Dr. Bethune is a human model undoubtedly.
It is so difficult to think about die for a nation that is not your own. What a sacrifice. Without great love for the people and ready to forget self, no one can do this. Therefore, such people should be respected by everyone.

Our fusion of personality, culture, heritage and social justice, together with our love for China have stengthened my solidarity & feelings for "Beth".
We were united at McGill University and while I was teaching at Canadian Trillium College in Nanjing, many of my chinese friends and neighbours there said that I resembled Bethune.
The great thing about Bethune is that he transcends politics.
Poets, painters, educators, surgeons, politicians and soldiers can all look to him as an inspiration even if you don't believe in his politics.
8 of his techniques and surgical instruments are still in use. Including the mobile blood bank, rib spreaders, Bethune clamp to name a few. He tested them on himself before he would touch a patient.
The art school for underprivileged children in Quebec is still there.
Im Chinese and I live in Montreal now , I can see his staute on my way to school(Concordia) everyday. Shame on Harper damaged relationship between China and Canada,I hope next PM can fix it :D

even norman himself was a communist. it was him refused to use valuable drugs and he believed he was fine since he was the only specialist other ppl couldn't argue about it. BTW I'm not saying single party will be good alwayly however it works so far such as economy success

Its a shame more Canadians don't know about him, I'm from Gravenhurst so I've known about him my whole life. Canadians really need to know more about their heros.
I was some years ago on his birthplace in Gravenhurst. I know the books from Allan/Gordon, Sylvia DuVernet, Larry Hannant, Roderick Stewart (all Canadian books)about him. Of course he is not very known in Canada and very late he was coming in the Hall of Fame in Canada.
He was a very social thinking M.D.

Don't be naive. There are factions within the single party in China - it's not a monolithic, single-minded entity.
At least the people aren't deluded into thinking that the different parties (Liberal, Conservatives, etc) represent different interests.
