good job man, you are a friend of mine just for deciding to get a REAL exhaust and not a fart can, people need to learn cool doesn't increase with obnoxiousness, all those hks/greddy stuff
I personally only think muscle cars should have exhausts. I've seen the rest of your car on cardomain though, and it is really nice. Love the black on black
i have a 2006 aveo and iv had mine to 115mph, the power doesnt decrese with speed trust me, iv also found that the higher up the rpms are the more power it makes.
I don't own an import you dumbass, I'm just pointing out that a car with 103 hp and 14 inch wheels would barely do 70 on the interstate and a modified version couldn't do much better.
nice, i have gone over 100mph in my aveo with the stock tires and rims, the trap speed on the 1/4 mile clocks mine at around 74mph, but i guess i do not know anything, sorry, but you sounded like an import boy
There's a difference. I did it for the sound and the look, not performance, I put it on the side for the side skirts I was planning on getting, however I gave up on all the plans, the car is getting old, it's too late to do anything serious with it knowing I could just get a better car with the $...
And a side note, yes it can go to 100mph, however it takes a LONG time to do it, 0-100 took like 1 minute, 30 seconds of which were from 80-100mph, it's an economy car for a reason.
i like the sound of you car it looks good too but i beg to differ with the speed mine went 115 is the fastest iv ever had it and it dident take a minute to get it there?
I didn't say it stops at 100mph, I said I've gotten it there. Also I was on a public road late at night. And I'm not sure how you got there any quicker, since anything above 70mph all the engine's remaining power is used to push through the wind, and 103hp disappears pretty quick at that speed.
@g0ast I had an Aveo for about 6 months and I actually liked the car. But I was one of the few who got a car that already had most of what needed done, done. It was a blue metallic with 18'' Motegi traclites, custom dual exhaust, tein custom fabbed suspension and a widebody kit. All I really had to do was stroke the motor out to a 2.0, cold air intake, and headers. Still got about 35 MPG and I left plenty of Civics and Stock Mustang GT's standing. And the car weighed barely 2000lbs
@toyoracing89 I have no doubt with all those mods you could beat out a stock civic but you most certainly did not leave mustang GT's in the dust. unless they werent racing that is.
im not trying to be mean but out of all the cars you would want to fix up why aveo, not unless you are planning to throw a supercharger in there then you would have a real sleeper, but just for cosmetics looks no dont do that.
I bought this car NEW in 2004 at just under $15k total. Tell me a car in Sept 2004 you could buy new for less than that and I would have probably bought that instead. Nowadays most brands have at least 1 or 2 such cars with all this gas price stuff. Like the new Civic and the xA, released just a few months after the Aveo.
Also the camera's eye level isn't someplace you would probably look at a car's exhaust, from the video's level it look strange but at normal eye level it looks good.
Also no I'm not planning on doing too much more to it, I'll probably just get a new car by the time I get enough $ to do more stuff to it. The first model year Aveos were pretty crappy, like the top radiator hose attachment to the engine was made out of plastic, I found that out when it blew and spilled fluid all over my engine, luckily I was parked when it happened. Aveos now have completely metal couplings.
well i notice alot of car companies are using lightweight matierails to either make the car faster or because of the recession, but faster cars comes from engine work and some of it from its weight ratio.
You can hear it yes, but it's not annoying, and it's not loud. But you can hear it. I like it because it sounds good. As a comparison, it's quieter at freeway speeds, the wind is louder.
not true not only does the 60 series sound good on 4 cyl. but also does the flowmaster super 44 its a low grumble sound w/ some pops and crackles but not very many. and it does not sound like a fart can no where near that. i hate that shit
Sounds awesome. Man if anyone decides to go with this muffler please use some sort of resonator. If not it will sound like a Super 40 raspy low to mid range and very aggressive in the high revs.
no resonator built in. just more chambers to deflect the sound. its hella loud and mean sounding without a resonator but it buzzes alot while cruising w/o a resonator.
this one sounds good but the one in my favorites sounds better. it's new so it's not even in the search engine yet but check it out. 40 series delta flow.
i was thinkin the exact same thing! in fact i made a comment like that about 3 months ago... but somehow... i think it would still get a hollow sound at higher rpms... like air just blowing.
im sorry but i own one and it is the worst car ive ever owned funny thing is i traded in my daewoo nubria for it cause it was a pile of shit only to find out later that my aveo is nearly 100% shitty daewoo. no joke, some times (like when mergeing) i wanna wreck it on purpose it sucks so bad. (05 aveo5 28K)
Bought a new 09 Aveo5 Saturday....wife wrecked it Friday. 399 miles on it. Hell of a way to "break" it in. But anyway...check out the Ecotec tuner forums. Good stuff.
Depending on what year aveo you have, some have electronic controlled throttle. If you modify anything on the car, the ECM knows that and will open the throttle less to save fuel milage. Trust me, thats why i returned mine to stock, an runs/drives 2000 times better.
I see 5 months ago you didn't know if you gained anything by this mod... also you never mentioned if you did anything to the exhaust except replace the muffler. I'm wanting to do a block back replacement on mine including mufflers.
Well no I can't confirm that I gained anything from doing it, but I can assume something changed because the engine runs cooler (running temp gauge is 1 mm below the middle bar), and since there is less resistance from the flowmaster, it probably gave me a couple more HP, but I don't really feel it.
Yeh Flowmasters help take heat away from the motor. Ive put a flowmaster on everything ive owned and you should tell a lil diffrence and hp. I just bouth a 97 nissan Maxima and am going to put a 60 series on it.
well, i am divided on the style, do i like it?/do i not like it? and well im leanin towards the likin it side. that being said its different, unique, which is prolly why i like it. you should make a vid of ur car under load tho. overall-nice!
Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Sounds like crap and do you realize this just a rebadged POS Daewoo?! What a waste of time/money and effort. LOL
