  • Who ever did this needs a bat to the head , about 20 times , and i'm not fooling

  • the bait dog is a myth, dogfighters do not use bait aniamals, pitbulls are rolled only against other adult pitbulls,

  • don't give these dogs to niggers

  • FREE TO GOOD HOME....MEANS....FREE FIGHTING DOG....FREE BAIT DOG....FREE DOG TO ABUSE....FREE DOG TO NEGLECT....SOME OF YOU MAY HAVE GOOD STORIES ABOUT "FREE TO GOOD HOME"...BUT ALL TOO OFTEN THE OWNERS HANDS OVER THE DOG WITHOUT ANY QUESTIONS...IT MAKES THEM FEEL BETTER THAT THEIR DOG IS GOING TO A "GOOD HOME" SOME OWNERS SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH NEGLECT WHEN THIS HAPPENS....THEY ARE BETTER OFF GOING TO A NO KILL SHELTER!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is horrible! Thanks for posting, I did not know this information. I am now glad most organizations are now screening the adopters, going to their homes before and after, asking questions and such before the animal can be adopted.

  • Im so happy he has a loving home got some sick human beings in this world

  • if i found out who did that to that dog i swear they would be dead man.....how the fuck could somebody do that to a dog? almost had me crying ....shit

  • @youreafark dont be so gullible in to believing stories about bait dogs

  • @youreafark dont believe everything you hear, bait animals is a bs story

  • Please do your research on Bait Dogs.

  • These people should be put in gladiator arenas and made to fight for out entertainment as punishment.

If they are wounded and will most likley die from their wounds they should be fed to the dogs.

    KILL! MAIM! PURGE! BURN!

  • i would hang the b@stards who do things like this

    dogs deserve better

  • Poor dog :( I'm glad he's in a good home now.

  • Have some compassion, dude.

  • Well, i do feel for the pup, obviously he's gone through a lot. I'm just saying The video could be totally wrong about what actually happened. You're right though, I should feel a little more for the pup.

  • Killbot- "Some scars"??? This happens all the time. It IS fact. They use dogs, cats, whatever they can get. Maybe you need to watch a hardcore documentary on this.

Obviously you can't tell what puncture wounds look like either. That pups battle scars are your proof! And did it occur to you that maybe the person who posted this actually rescued the dog? What an imbecile.

  • I was just saying that it's a possibility. I'm not saying the places don't exist, I'm just saying the dog might not have gotten it from the fighting rings. It could have had a fight with one other dog.

Again, not hating on the dogs. Just saying the person who made the video could be lying about the dog's condition to get sympathy for something he believes.

Also, how dreadful I didn't identify a puncture wound from a scar. So terribly sorry. What a Buffoon.

  • omg thats fuked i live in hawaii and i hate it when people have dog fights! it always makes me cry like just when watching this vid!

  • They need to do something about dog fighting rings. Set a harder law for it.

Dont allow folks to adopt pitpulls without interviewing them.

I believe in Karma. Those mother f*ckers will get it one day.

  • @xlongyujax here i am, come get me

  • @MrMisanthrope1 Karmas a bitch hon. You will get yours soon. :)

  • with dog fighting its not only pitbulls. any free dog or puppy can end up being a meal or bait. they get the pitbull starve it and then feed it puppies to get bloodlust. my staffy had its teeth ripped out and used as a toy for practise and motivation because he couldnt fight back the dogs build up courage thinking they can win. i rescued him and he has had a wonderful life now old and happy.

  • i'm terrified of Pitbulls, but no matter how scary they've been made out to seem in the past, they don't deserve that kind of brutality. This poor little guy needs loads of TLC

  • Don't blame the breed... blame the owner.

    They make WONDERFUL pets!

  • why do people do those things to dogs? it just makes me sick great vid tho

  • Hmm... exactly how much is " big money " with dog fighting???...

  • This just makes me sick! How can people be so cruel??

  • It's impossible to fit here everything wrong with this advice abou placing unwanted pets This video is made for a bunch of sanctimonious selfrighteous nags who want to make themselves feel better than those seeking to relinquis their pet. Discouraging people from rehoming by traumatizing them with prospects of an unlikely fate for the animal leads to overcrowded shelters, euthanasia and fates equally as awful as being a bait dog-like feline aids, or distemper caught after "compassionat release"

  • and thank you to YOU Holly for selecting the song for this video. You just knew!

    ~Gisele

  • I hope people will take this as a warning and tell their friends. Poor Shader! I couldn't stop crying as I watched this video. Thanks to Pet Rescue by Judy for saving him!

  • You know, the shocking thing is that this video of Shader is very mild compared to what other bait dogs have been through. I hope that people become wise and stop giving away their pets. I was looking at the Orlando Craigs List last night and was sick at the number of "Free" pets. Someone had posted this video on that list last week but it was flagged and removed. I don't know why ~ nothing wrong with Craigs list, just free pets!

  • I'm really excited to look at the Statistics and Data links on this video to see that it is being cross listed on many sites including Craigslist! That is wonderful. There is nothing wrong with Craigslist if used properly, and that is the purpose of this video ~ to educate people about the potential hazards in giving away a pet. Thank you to everyone cross posting!

  • Jackie is the wonderful person who nursed Shader back to health. When she saw him, her heart broke ~ she just knew no one would ever want him. Well, now he is healthy, happy and loving as can be! With a little pursuation from Judy, she has agreed to let us make him available for adoption just to see if someone worthy comes along! Personally, I have no doubt that we will quickly find Shader a home. In the meanwhile, he is at Jackie's house, rearranging her couch cushions!

  • It broke my heart watching that video but so happy he has a good home now. I just told me "Ozzy" who I adopted through Pet Rescue by Judy, "See he was saved just like you". YEA to Judy who refuses to give up on saving on animals and making sure they do go to good homes.

  • Other rescue sites are welcome to link to this video to spred the word. Please, just let us know you have done so. Better yet, contact the author, Gisele Veilleux, and have her create a video especially for you. Her link is in the description at the top right of this page. We have to get the word out to a naive public!

  • Good hearted people have trouble believing that such things can really happen, and happen often. And those are just the people that nefarious people are looking for! Put on a smile, ooh and aah over the free pet and - ta dah - they walk away with another bait animal while the naive people think they've made a great match. Never never never give away a pet to someone you don't know!

  • This is so touching. <3

  • Sad but Great video, He's lucky you got him.

poor boy had to live thru hell though for who knows how long

  • Never post it on any "list" on-line if you have to give your dog away.

It is true regarding a contract, I had to sign one before adopting my dog and it is enforcable by law.

For Shader - so glad you have a new happy home - for real this time. Sweet dog!

  • This is ashame. How some people can be so numb about LIFE.

But I beg to differ, the title should be,

SEE WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF YOU POST...

I look for those ad's all the time, maybe I can save a Life before it goes to the pound or the likes of this but to insinuate THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU POST...

is not an very accurate and the paranoia, to think they bring children - WTF? You need to prove that BS.

There's a TYPE and AGE that does this shit...THINK ABOUT IT.

  • I appreciate your concern and efforts, but you will note that the second black screen reads "This Is What Can Happen To Free Pets". The point of this video is to raise the awareness of naive people as to who might be replying to their ads. You are obviously already aware. Most people are not.

  • Thank YOU. I value all you do and wish I could help ya. This just happened to a friend's kittens, they were literally used as BAIT. We reported them but what else can you do? It just pisses me off to no end and stresses me out.

SO I keep looking for animals that need a home. I check once a month...but it's hard enuff keeping up with everything else as well unless you are in it as you are.

May I suggest? Make a 60sec PSA...As a markerter too, I believe you could get that in more hands?!

  • Actually, some really do bring children with them. Sad, but true. How many people looking for a free pet are just wanting a cheap alarm system, and intend to chain the dog up. I like the posters comment to check the vet references.

I disagree that there is a type and age that does this. And that's not being paranoid. IMHO

  • Sorry I pushed a button but there is no way on this planet to say for sure if they get them for free or from a shelter, some people breed them just for fighting. People like this will do what they want and there is no way to track besides a yrly license and there is no guarantee...so yes to me, it's a shame to stereotype and focus on the negative when that only brings more of the same.

I personally don't want to see more animals being used in this way.

Glad I don't know people like that.

  • For 1Blarney, if the owner cares enough, they can draw up a simple contract requiring certain living conditions be met and the dog be returned to them if all does not work out. rescue grjoups do this all the time. Unfortunately too many of owners just want to get rid of the dog and don't care what happens once they are gone.

  • Not just used for bait, "free to good home" dogs can be treated horribly to make them aggressive guard dogs, used for research, or if not spayed or neutered, may live the rest of their lives in a backyard breeder's outdoor kennel, producing endless litters of puppies. Not only should people ask for a rehoming fee, but they should ask for ID, personal references, vet references, and do a home visit to make everything matches the info given. This could save their pet a from a life of misery.

  • Jackie, I know how heart-broken you were when you first saw Shader, and how much you love him. I hope this video helps others avoid this pain.

  • A very important message. These people looking for bait dogs often pose as a loving family and bring children with them and talk about how they lost their family pet. Naturally, if children come along, it's easy to be taken in.

I can't help but wonder if Shader was handed over to the first person that came. So important to get references, check them thoroughly, and be sure to do a home check.

Is there any way for people to do a conditional adoption?
