  • I remember when I was King and she was queen.

    Beautiful song

  • God, this song is so beautiful. His voice goes straight to my soul. Music now a days is just for the beat, it has nothing to do with true music. This is true music!

  • have everyone lyrics this song??

  • 8 people don't remember when

  • There's a lot of both bitterness and guilt on the issue of race, as slavery was not just a crime against black people, but against humanity. So, to those who'd take a helping hand I'd say: Take note that truly great people are only those who served HUMANITY, and not just their own race or nation. "Go thou and do likewise." - Lk10:37. If you only love you and yours, what reward is there in that? A thing in itself is just the same thing.

  • Comment removed

  • it nah mata past is past its the future that we need to look at youts need to grow up and help one another.

  • this song makes me feel like crying, everything started in Africa with black people!!! the world would be a better place if everyone excepted the truth!

  • I love this song!

  • tab for guitar please? wswsw

  • Nuff respect Mr. Luciano!!!!!!!

  • EGYPT DIDN'T HAVE SLAVES UNTIL INVADERS CAME INTO OUR LAND THE BIBLE IS A MYTH AND THE ONLY PLACE YOU CAN FIND THAT STORY! STOP BELIEVING THE CAUCASIAN'S LIES AND DEAL WITH ARCHEOLOCHICAL FINDS AND WHAT'S WRITTEN ON THE WALL OF EGYPT. AND ACCORDING TO THE STORY THE ISREALITES CAME TO US WHEN THEY WERE IN FAMINE...WHERE WAS THEIR GOD THEN?

  • Most were not Kings and Queens they were subjects of a King or Queen. - there where a lot of slaves too - Egypt has slaves -check out he Bible ..

  • Very beutiful, Jah bless!!!

  • luciano come back ........ the business needs you badly i cant get no music to listen to these day all i keep hearing is noise.

  • i love this song , bt i cant friggen find it on limewire

  • I love this song, beautiful, beautiful. The dancing is great.

  • powerful song for our people no matter how you look at it this song is to enlighten all at least its not kill kill your friends and family and those you dont know at least its not talking about drugs guns and being behind bars its an uplifting feel for all to enjoy if you regularlly listen to reggae or any music that is created by those who live in our ancestrial lands then you then you have a right to comment anyway you feel but to those who dont need to take the opportunity to do so thanks.

  • The song is postive and true but at the same time its lacking the TRUE did. When he said "Before Slavey intervined", he should've said "Before ancestors sold our people into slavery making our people suffer." This song has that "politically incorrect" figure to it, no wonder this didn't have ANY exposure until now.

  • @tonshaad1230 ...i think he just means the whole concept that we were taken from our land...when he says before slavery intervened..doesnt matter who did it it happened..portugese had a part too..now wot???take from it what u kno and let others take from it wot they will...eye opener to say the least...peace

  • @tonshaad1230

He is correct in saying before slavery intervene, it is the concept of slavery of itself he is talking about. Remember, it doesn't matter who is doing the slavery, it implies using a person for their own ends, whether it is our own or not, slavery takes away the right of anothers. Yes, some of our ancestors did sell our people, but some was also taken. Saying before our ancestors sold our people would would be eliminating the others who had a part in slavery.

  • im sikk and tired of racist ass people leavin racist ass comments. if u dont like the video, keep it to ur fukkin self nd move on.

  • first time i watched this video, i had an idea of which country u shot thew video in. it was in the end that i realised i was right!! thanks for representing GHANA in your video! ONLY ONE COUNTRY HAS THE SYMBOL SHOWN AT THE END~ GHANA FOR LIFE!

  • I'm loving this song, beautiful...

  • Good Man!! Good Music!!

  • yes keep teaching cus if u knw u history then will knw our destiny

  • So beautiful, keep shining, Brother Luciano! MORE LOVE!

  • We are NOT Hebrew Isarelites for all of you fucking idiots and ignroamuses out there! We are NOT Israelites! Stop claiming us for all of you nonsense! SMFH

  • Africa in geneal i full of wonders that the original people put there and that it what we come from somewhere thats all im sayng, We are capable of so muc more by todays standards!

  • We all come from the same source -africa -slavery fukd it all up they all twisted the truth. u talikn bout jus move on is all well and good but ' he who dont know of his past, has no future' we must realise where we came from, otherwise where u going? bviously africa is diverse NOW coz everyone had a piece!!

  • You are who you are because that's the way God decided it would be. Are you doing enough to make your Love ones know you care? Do get a feeling of joy when you make someone smile? Can you go for a walk and enjoy nature? See flowers grow, hear birds sing, watch children play, just stop dwelling on negatives. If not it is satan who wins, not the white nor blackman.

  • It is time we mentally emancipate ourselves. I do not find these types of songs uplifting at all. What is the message here? What can he really recall? He was not there and the accounts are sketchy whether it is from black or white authors. For me the event took place, lets move on. Stop wasting time on the block, stay in school, work hard. My father woke up before I did to start work and did not return home until it was almost time for bed. They worked hard. We sit and "remember" what, as if...

  • Luciano I love your music usually, but this is rubbish. Black cannot describe a ppl of mixed cultures and beliefs. We must not continue to think of Africa as one country and or a single culture. The needs will vary as the the culture, geography, climate, nationality etc differs. I enjoy history, I feel sadness whenever I watch a film or read an account of the adversity and hardship faced by my ancestors, but we must rise as individuals firstly and then we can help others.

  • Your video and the lyrics to your song were both very touching....I look forward to hearing more from you and going to one of your shows

  • North East South West??? The Whole of AFRICA was BLACK you fool!! Don't believe what you read! Idiot do you think that the people who had the original knowledge i.e Maths and science locked were bribed with Rum!? Rediculous. They were too loving and trusting of jealous outsiders And Sum still are today.

  • @disziak seriously what the fuck are you talking about you? black is a color not a people. my point was that africn americans need to stop claiming the works of egyptians, nubians, and zulus because your ancestors arn't egyptians, numbians, and zulus. so how is wht u said relevant?

  • @FullSwagSyceGame507 Don't waste ur time man, unless u've got lots of it. Everyone here is doing what is typical of most humans- giving uneducated opinions based on 2nd hand knowledge, this includes myself. These opinions are based primarily on what we have read, heard and watched. We were not fortunate enough to be there so as to have first hand recall.

  • @FullSwagSyceGame507 What? u need to read! of course african americans descended from egyptians and zulus etc hence 'AFRICAN' and all over africa too sort it out son

  • @disziak african isn't a nationality. black a look that most subsaharran africans share. egptians arn't A.A.'s ancestors. btw most african americans arn't full blooded africans so that makes it even less chance to have egyptian or zulu blood in you

  • @FullSwagSyceGame507 is he still talking rubbish, lol! I'm telling you, your time is being wasted on these ignorant ones.

  • @junior2404 . aja!!! herald yo. Damu moja, kabila moja. no fighting. dont let your egos get int eh way. Damu moja, kabila moja. an its dont matter. no matter the color of the skin, we all goin back in the ground. Damu moja, kabila moja.

    WAHALLA!

  • @disziak How can Africa be black when thta is what Europeans called certain peoples in Africa? Who and what is black? Africa is NOT black!

  • @fullswagsycegame507 ...blacks were indeed the great egyptians. it was only through Arabs colonization that we move west wards.. and dont trust all of history, I believe that blacks did not sell each other to the slavers.. it is a tactic use by slavers who wrote this history to cast the blame among ourselves and it seems to work. am from the Gambia anyway,

  • please stop claiming your ancestors were the great egyptians, nubians, or the zulus because egyptians, nubians were from east africa and zulus were from south africa and the blacks that came to the americas were form west and central africa

  • @FullSwagSyceGame507 I've been trying for years to bring light to the subject, but as the saying goes the ppl prefer darkness rather than light. The events are still unclear, but we know enough to conclude that slavery was based mainly on economics, i.e. free labor. historically there have been white, yellow, red and black slaves. We seem to live in the past which keeps us from moving forward. other culture r, inspite of the negatives of the past.

  • @junior2404 i respect you alot. i hate when people try to make africa seem like oine big group of people. it is a strange, beautiful, and DIVERSE land. i dont like when africans in the western hemisphere claim the works of others. i think they should be proud of what they did and only that. and dwelling on the past isn't gona help the present esepecially in america which is a place of constant groth and change.

  • By the way most of yall wern't kings and queens, how amny kings and queens can a kingdom have. 2nd of all the real kings and queens were the people who sold yall to the whites anyway

  • when Lucian says "when THEY took us away" he is refering to other africans because the majority of slave capturers were africans themseleves

  • you negroes are not africans but the true hebrew israeltes

  • @Rabbiyakub WTF! who said the people in this video call themselves Negroes! that term is racist and offensive! And no we are not no true hebrew israelites! What is this 12 tribes of israel stuff???

  • @Rabbiyakub

LOL. I will wait for you to show one piece of scientific evidence. LOL. Keep interpreting ambiguous passages of the Bible in goofy ways. Bible thumpers of every creed are entertaining.

  • @Salsassin lol wow how did you find me on here... didnt ankh already deal with you

  • @Rabbiyakub

LOL. Ankh didn't deal with anyone. But his Masonic claims were entertaining.

  • @Salsassin go pick up MYSTERY OF THE MEXICAN PYRAMIDS, and Elias Boudinot's a star in the west proving the native americans are hebrews and thats easy but to much to type pm me

  • @Rabbiyakub

No, don't quote me goofy books that are not peer reviewed. If you think they have evidence quote the evidence itself and their sources. As in where they were found, by whom, etc.

  • @Salsassin o, you want me to do your homework

  • @Rabbiyakub

No, I did my homework. That is why I know you are full of it. But if you think you can show some thing to prove me wrong, then cite the primary evidence.

  • Real Music

  • what is everyone arguing about!??? The song has nothing to do with half the arguments... I believe he's just reminiscing on The Mother LAnd ...and how he thinks it may have been before his time of course...wats up with the color convo and name calling!?!...people how old are we??? Maybe besides listening to the song we should do a little reading.idk wat happnd n the lng run but jus readn trough the recent commnts I think ur misunderstandn.

  • Does anybody have the song food soldier of luciano... Really love this Jah blessed singer especially the song i'm mentioning: Food Soldier

  • Love this song! Big up Black sisters and brothers !!! Be stronger ...

  • you people really are narrow minded!!!!!! you actually make me sick! the african man killing...... look at you promiting racism? promoting this biased opnion.... i presume you have never been to africa? so how the fuck would you knw>? all you knw is shit from the media.... and the funny thing off all if you are from america your fucking president is black!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ok ok... your not racist! dont make me fooking laff! people kill in our culture everyday! have you seen the prisons... how can you justify yourself as not being racist??? you are catagorising a whole culture that is far bigger than most of the world? i like this song... and omg im white how mad is that ehhhh? i cuda swore this is a world wide website... so wots your problem with the sonf?

  • You sad twats!!!!!!!!! how dare you be sooo racist!!!!!!!!! wot the fuck has a skin couler gota do with anything???? u uncultured racist pigs! ..... if it wernt for other culture chinese asain, african, caribean the country you live. check the clothes on your back, the tv you watch, the food you eat you daft twats....... not everything revolves around the white man..... and b4 you start trying chuck some racist shit to me.... im a white girl so try it!

  • nice riddim

  • I see I have touched a nerve with my comment... FYI, I have a mind of my own so brainwashing is out of the picture; neither am I defending evil, Transatlantic slavery was one of the most Un-Christian schemes to have ever come upon this earth, but hearing the truth is a hard pill to swallow. How do we explain the ethnic cleansing and other atrocities in Africa today? It makes no sense living in denial in this time... So it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end. Peace!!!

  • Finally found this song! Very touching.

  • pleas do all us white people a favor and go back to africa we all hate you even though we sometimes lie and say we dont

  • hahaha your funny. Racists make me laugh! by the way, I aint going no where when my people helped to build the so called British empire, and continue to contribute this society. get a life!

  • You were neglected as a child weren't you?

  • If Africans should go back to Africa, then were should white people go? This land wasn't yours! It belonged to the Spanish and Indians.... Little fuckin white boy!

  • @kennymembreno07

Lol you mean just the Indians. The Spanish are Europeans also. Most Mexicans are of mixed Indian and Spanish ancestry, and most carribean latinos are mixed black and white(even if they wont say it). Alot of South Americans are pure Indians, and with the exception of Venezuela and Colombia which have mixed African/Indian populations in addition to the usual mestizo.

  • @Quiteness West African admixture in low amounts is VERY COMMON among MANY MEXICANS! Most of Mexico is of indigenous ancestry! The black/Afro Mexican population is estimated at more than 5 million! Over 75% of Mexico's population has an indigenous and/or mulatto ancestor! And NOT a lot of Indigenous are pure as you say!

  • @Quiteness In all some more than 75% of Venezuelans have African ancestry! Hugo Chavez is an example of a triracial Venezuelan or "pardo"! Mestizo can also include mixed with African ancestry as well! African ancestry/blood has been found from low to high amounts in many so called mestizoes! Mestizoes means mixed so it DOES NOT include just white and indigenous bloodlines but also African black as well!

  • @chsn09 Nope. 68% Mestizo (this includes mulattos, and triracials), 21% Euro (not identified as mixed), 6% Black (not identified as mixed), 1% Indigenous (not mixed) 4% Asiatic (Including Middle Eastern).

  • @Salsassin Oh you mean for Venezuela? Because I read from many sources that some 75% had African ancestry but only 10% are labelled demographically as black and some white unmixed and the rest a mestizo mulattoes and triracial mix! I was not saying that that made them black but that 75% has some African ancestry!

  • @chsn09

Naw, the 68% includes all the mixed identified population. I guess if you added ALL mixed people (but all of them are not Afrodescent) you would get 74%. But then it would be inaccurate.

  • @Salsassin Oh okay! Interesting! Thanks for the information! So that means at least 74% of Venezuelans are Afrodescendants! And then how many would be Indigenousdescendants? Yeah you are right about the mixed population! I see what you are saying and that makes sense!

  • @chsn09

No, it would mean that AT MOST 74% are. and they would mean all mixed people would ahve to be Afrodescendant, which they are not.

  • @Salsassin So then what percentage of Venezuela is Afrodescendant and what percentage of Venezuela have indigenous ancestry?? Because the indigenous ancestry is statistically/demographically small because of the proportions in the overall national population especially because of the influx of many European immigrants and other whites as well as Colombians illegal and legal among others, also Afrodescent immigration still takes place from the West Indian islands and neighboring nation of Guyana!

  • @chsn09

We won't know until a DNA test is done. Most of the indigenous population was absorbed into the Mestizo population.

  • @Salsassin Well this is a historical record---> "By the end of the 18th century, Venezuela's population was about 700,000, of which 60% was black." Someone told me genetic test was done and it was of Caracas proper I believe and the results being 43% euro, 36% Indigenous, 21% African!

  • @chsn09

    21% is not 75%

  • @Salsassin lol. Oh! Yeah I am aware that 21% is NOT 75%! All I was trying to say is that from many things I have read and even speaking to some Venezuelans and historians and records it has shown that today some 75% of Venezuelans have African ancestry! NOT that it makes them black! 10% of the population is labelled "demographically" as "black"

  • @Salsassin LOL

  • @kennymembreno07 WTF! This land DID NOT belong to Spain! It belonged to the INDIGENOUS or Indians as you call them! And yeah Africans should NOT go back to Africa! Spanish aka Spaniards are whites/white people!!

  • There's truth in this song, however, the white man didn't know the terrain to go in and round up our people like cattle... the truth is, our ancestors were sold into slavery by the gullible African Chiefs, in exchange for 'Rum' ... It is written, "Wine is a mocker, strong drink it rages, whoever is deceived by it; is not wise."

  • u actually got it wrong, our ancestor dont sold them to white people to enslave them, dont read white people book,u should go and read black people book and know the fact, luciano will actually tell u the fact,u have been brainwash to believe that Black african chief is to be blame for slave trade,u got it wrong,

  • @pressurewillgo im not racist but only blacks in the west seem to feel like this song..theres still african culture in africa no matter of slavery..if AFRICANS in AFRICA wanted to live like humans they wouldnt kill each other over nothing and would try to become civil..basically follow south africas lead

  • ur comment is an insult to All African,African are living in like Human, they are Not animal, they are just like u,Open ur eyes.killing is in everywhere weather in Europe of America,European American kill each and so African, they does not change there human Status, there is no different,African are not living like Animals, and they are not

  • @ryno432

Its not all their fault! The Europeans and the United States control alot of what goes on over there and who gets into power! Just like the Gulf States interfere with East African supporting genocidal muslim regimes. Read about Patricie Lumamba the first president of the Democratic Republic of Congo! READ ABOUT WHAT HE TRIED TO ACCOMPLISH AND THEN WHAT THE UNITED STATES AND BELGIUM DID TO HIM IN RETALIATION! If you think it doesnt happen all over Africa, you are mistaken.

  • @pressurewillgo Although this would be nice, blacks did sell blacks and native americans fought other native americans this isn't such a far feched idea the aztecs were defeated by the tribes around them and the little help from cortez. What proof at all do you have that blacks did not trade rival tribe blacks captured in battle for advanced weaponry and other things to europeans? THis doesn't make slavery or racism ok it's just the truth. Everything isn't a conspiracy.....

  • @imperativeduty louder my brother, cause most ppl don't read and when they do, they lack comprehension.

  • @TheVolcano22

It wasnt just rum it was other resources. Africans had guns aplenty(although only in Ghana was there an attempt to manufacture them in West Africa). when the Euros came. In East Africa, Egypt manufactured ships, artillery, and guns(led by Muhammed Ali a white man of Albanian descent) to stop the Euros. And Ethiopia also had a somewhat modern army through the slave trade with Arabs and other trades. Djibouti was not colonized until the 1920's...there is more to the story you know.

  • @TheVolcano22 The language "CHIEF" didnt exist till the whiteman came, remember they discovered River Niger, river congo and Kilimanjaro.....one more thing alcohol is not new to the Africans they did and still have the most potent brew.

  • We are getting there. Keep pushing forward brothers and sisters.

  • The first time i heard this song I cried sadden by by the fact that I didn't remember my true tradition, but was happy with the fact that some one did

  • love this song , he tells the story so eloquently , very touching

  • wow!what a song!

  • saw Luciano at Ski Club Darwin Australia May 2008, brilliant show, awesome night, need more reggae shows up Darwin way

  • Truth makes the world go 'round.

  • great song and great video, love it, love it!

  • @urewedi its people like u that keeps racist going you div ive been listening to tunes since 1963 probaly more blacker than u and ime white

  • Blessed Brother Luciano... Beautiful song everytime. YHWH Bless

  • THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL SONG

  • Beautiful song and so true!

  • BEAUTIFUL TRUE SONG

  • Why do you people have to discuss all that stuff on videos? Can't you just enjoy the music. You should enjoy music, you shouldn't make youtube discussions about slavery and racism.

  • i agree

  • Bottom line, we are all fuck in this ruined world because of the wicked powerful.

  • a chune de nice seen, big up fe all impriss, and kemet man

  • God Bless you Luciano and also the black nation. If only I would have been alive back then...there would have been no slavery...only fairness and equality...I am white

  • God bles u

  • Beautiful Black People stand UP!!!! United We Stand Divided We will continue to fall

  • Lucianoooooooooooooooo!

Big tunes my yout. I read when they baptized us in the name of Jesus Christ and placed us on the slave ship Jesus. I remember I will never forget. I read Pope Martin gave the authorization.

I remember the great civilizations of Mali, Cush, Nubia, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Kongo, Ghana, Axum, Ashanti, Benin, Yoruba, Hausa, Kanewbornu.

  • Based on your nickname you should know that neither white people nor the Catolic church made people slaves.

Slaves were sold to them in Africa. Already slaves! Great civilizations as you mention... but some more great than others! Black made other black slaves, long before whites and church came to africa.

Stop seeing things in black and white. All races are equal as the colour of our blood shows!

Leave history behind us. Stop blaming one-another, start loving one-another!

  • Did u tell tht 2 the Iraqis, or the Aphganis, or the N. Koreans or the Iranians or even the Chinese. Did America 4give Castro.

Is Bush, Cheney, Blair or any other coalation leaders coalation of the willing b4 any court for their role in the rape of the 2 nations.

Look now at the economic collapse did any of these so call financial leaders pay for their illegal deals that destroyed countless lives.

Urs know nothing of love niether in practice or meaning,

  • I am not American/British, nor am I white,

I am black and from the caribbean.

I can and will not defend those allegations you make in this post.

All I'm saying is that we as blacks should look at the complete picture, else we will be as narrow minded as the people we object.

Pointing fingers will not resolve anything. Cause those pointed at will point back to you.

As I showed in my first post, we blacks are not without evil either, neither are afghans, koreans, chinese, cubans.

  • Enough things happend in these countries that make it possible to point the finger back.

You can be proud of your heritage, but pointing to one race or nationality to blame for all evil is something very different and scary.

  • Listen I am from the Caribbean aswell, we live peacefully with all men of all background.

The sugar industry is dead in the Caribbean. The brown sugar industry was 1 of purity now European nations have told the Caribbean to stop manufacturing brown sugar, Brazil not only produced brown sugar but use it as a form of fuel. The Caribbean could have done the same thing. Yet we borrow from the IMF at interest which basically have us beg. Tourist destination have fun then go home to the real world.

  • Interesting!

Do you have any "proof" or "source" for the remark about European nations telling us to stop the manufacturing?

I would like to read more deeply into this

    .

  • International Monetary Fund (IMF), read how they set interest rate n what if the island state is unable to repay or even in a timely manner the island state would have to sell its natural resources to private firms.

The UN took the brown sugar industry from the Caribbean as they had large portion of the market, sugar cane have many synthetic use.

Now they have this manufactured white sugar while Brazil sugar industry is crazy.

  • @ChrisKamrat who are u to define evil are to defend salvery?? the fact of the matter is salvery is wrong the iraq war is wrong nation building is wrong and they did black ppl wrong even the white man know that....................

  • Beautiful song i love you luciano..Beautiful music.

I am tired of writing to him begging to be his back up singer or maybe the microphone when he is singing so I can plant one big VI kiss on his juicy lips.....smooches

  • Luciano is one of the Caribbean's greatest musicians and lyricists!! And its songs like these that are underrated because they empower us as black people and not berate and degrade us.

  • this song is incredible i have been searchin for it for 2 years

  • how beautiful!

  • this is such a beautiful song..

  • blessed tune
