Thank you... so much :) i'm so afraid to come out to my parents that i'm pansexual and this really helps me gain some confidence for that big moment... I almost cried... :) <3
@C4productions123 if you don't like gay people why are you searching gay videos? Also, the bible does say that marriage is between a women and a man. But love doesn't have a gender. And finally every sin is equal in amount mo sin is worst then the other.
Homosexuals utterly discust me they might have great personalities and what notmbe being gay isnt something to be proud of its something to be shamed of
@C4productions123 What people really should be ASHAMED about is having atrocious spelling and grammar like yours. I'm so sorry that you live such a hateful life that you can't accept homosexual men and women because, quite frankly, it is your loss, not ours.
Let's start a campaign for parents NOT TO ASSUME anything when their child is born based on gender. Tell them the have to wait to be told. End of discussion.
The day will come where NO parent will know or assume what they're child is until they are old enough to feel it or tell them - gay or straight, just like what career they end up going into. If they don't assume they won't be disappointed. : )
I really don't know what to think right now. so far i've only come out to my best friend. it was the hardest thing that i have ever done and his reaction confused me. he wanted to get off the subject rather quickly. i asked him if he was good with it. his reaction was, "fine i guess" in a very emotionless way. because of that, i don't know if i can take telling anyone else for a while. :(
@multimarioRB I went through some of the same things with my friends.. You have to realize that it took you some time to come to terms with your orientation, and that it may take time for them to come to terms with who you are as well. Definitely encourage talking about it; the more everything is laid out in the open, the better things will be. Tell him that you're still the same person you've always been, and the fact that he knows doesn't change that.
@sarumbley the thing is, i don't know whether to bring that subject on him again. i never want to force anything on anyone. it's like i'm rapping his mind with details he doesn't want to know. i mean we can talk about pretty much ANYTHING with no hesitaion, except for this, well that's to be expected. i'll bring the whole gay thing up when he's ready and no time sooner.
I remember watching this video before I came out and feeling inspired. Shortly after, with kudos to people like Davey Wavey and others, I did it. I've never looked back, and now it's wonderful revisiting this video post-closet. I owe you one guys!
this video made me very emotional and happy at the same time :D i just want to thank everyone who sent in videos for this vid..... your advice as already starting to help and it will help me further on in the future.... im only 14 so i got time but im glad i dicovored this vid!
It's just a weird thing to be proud of... it's not like people worked their whole lives to be gay, I tihnk the word 'proud' should be reserved for earning or accomplishing something. eg. "Our son just graduated and were so proud of him... oh yes and he's gay aswell!"
@Darkez982 That is one sense of the word as I said. For years gay people, despite not being able to help it, have been made to feel worthless, inferior and ashamed. When you are tired of being ashamed what do you call yourself. What is the opposite of "ashamed" in your opinion? Should that call it "Gay Unashamedness"? Maybe that would be more accurate, but it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.
I've never understood ethnic or national pride. At St. Patrick's day parades they sell buttons which say "Proud to be Irish" I never understood that becuase on Columbus day they sell buttons saying "Proud to be Italian". 'Pride' should be used for achieving something. Being gay isn't a skill, being from a certain country or being a certain race or sexuality is not an achievement, it's a genetic accident. You wouldn't say "I'm proud to be 5ft 11" etc.
@Darkez982 It's just saying you've learned about something you are, actually like it and are grateful you are, and want to share it (especially if you had been shamed). It typically celebrates the once disparaged and belittled. That's why it is not P.C. to talk about "White Pride" because whites have never been persecuted.
@over18irish When you say something once it's a simple statement, but when you repeat it several times you start to believe it. When the seemingly empty words have a genuine meaning, you can find courage and comfort in them.
This video doesn't speak to everyone. I wish all of you who are saying "just do it" could see the result of "just doing it" sometimes. To the ones who say "only those who accept you are the ones who truly love you." That's lovely, but what if it turns out that the ones who don't love you are your parents? What if your well-being depends on your straight identity? My advice is:
By all means, do it, but only if it's absolutely safe.
I am gay and I really want help. My mom knows I am gay but has told me I'm not old enough to make that kind of life choice. I don't believe it's a choice but now we are moving to a new town and she has told me to "not start with my crap" ... I wish I could be myself completely bur I feel like when i'm around her, I can't be me, rainbow pride included! I just need some advice :(
@LeoAzareth93 My mom said something similar. Said I was too young to know that for sure, etc. What you do is you keep being yourself, and eventually she'll be faced with the fact that it's who you are from town to town, from morning to night, and from birth to death. And she'll be angry, upset, and scared for you, and she'll probably say something she'll regret, and you just have to forgive her for it later. And trust that she can't change you no matter what, so she should accept you.
@LeoAzareth93 Educate your mom. Don't validate others' ignorance by being quiet. Tell her you don't have a choice how you're born; there's plenty of both scientific and anecdotal proof of this. You don't have to tolerate ignorance just because someone is religious. If your mom said "don't start your left-handed crap again" or believed the world was flat, would you go along? I would hate to have uneducated or ignorant parents. Faith does not have to mean belief in fairy tales or ignorance.
I came out to my cousin randomly in the car. I spent the next half hour listening to how nobody is in love with someone of the same sex, they're just horny. I came out to my mom via facebook status on National Coming Out Day. Neither was the best way, but I'm me. lol.
@karkkiliininam Then they were too immature, ignorant or not very good friends. Be thankful for weeding those type of friends out to make room for genuine ones.
Religions if they are religious that is and the ones that I feared would shun me are the ones who happiest for me because I am happy now and the ones that freak will either come around or they never truly loved you to begin with !
Ps don't fall in love with the first one to accept you it's unhealthy get to know someone first their pains, past, dreams, aspirations, motivations, and cares, and what team they play for (lolz) take your time love will come just in time! :D
I am out to friends who "already knew" but never said that it was ok for me to be gay until I came out to them. my family is still in the dark as far as I know, but my advice as is many others is this -love, accept and come out to yourself first then your best friend then follow your heart and go at your own pace if some one has a problem with you then it's really just a problem they have with themselves and they are jealous of you and your self acceptance or they are hypocritical of their own
My advice is, tell your friends what you are but leave you're parents a little hope, I told my mother I'm bi because I'm 16 and I think it'll be better to come out when I have a partner and a different house to live in. I think taking baby steps is a great way, maybe prepare you're parents by making jokes or saying that kid on tv is cute, don't smack them in the face to hard with it.
It's been a few months (or more) since i've came out to anyone.. The only people to know i'm gay are my two best friends.. They're so supportive and i'm glad to have such accepting people in my life... :)
When I watched this video, I smiled and tears came to my eyes. Not tears of sorrow, but tears of joy, I will keep all of these in mind when I come out.
I remember when my best friend came out to his father.. There had be a argument ending as we'd walk down the road, he pulled up, drifting slowly next to us.
When my best friend shouted "I LIKE PENIS".. I had to laugh even though it was a bad situation.
this vid made me cry :'( thank you everyone! Its really nice to know that there's people out there who really do care about everyone. I've decided to come straight out whenever people ask me if im gay. I am not forcing myself, i have been having lots of time to think it through and now i feel like im ready for this! Thank you everyone! Im gay and proud! Takkkeeee careeeee<333
The friends and i mean the best friends(me in this case) knew my friend was gay for a while, and even though he didnt say it out loud, you could tell he was.
He finally became more proactive, and proudly was able to say he was gay. Although it might not seem like it changed our friendship, the fact that he was honest with himself made me have more respect for him then before.
He finally opened up to his mom, and I think he is more happier now being himself for a change.

I've came out to several people .....already..... like 13..... most were accepting should i facebook it ...? I have before but I left it there for one day or so ... : / eek ..
my uncle's partner was kicked out of his home after coming out, and i think it's really important to have support when you're in a situation like that. My family is very involved with the gay community, even though all of us are straight. i have 2 gay uncles and lots of close family friends who are gay, and their stories amaze me still, as a 13 year old. be strong, and don't look back. people WILL be there for you, so don't be afraid :))
I have to say it's better to come out as soon as possible so when ppl ask u u don't have to lie. U won't have tons of lies on your back This way u will feel more u.
OMG! What a great movie. So moving and inspirational. Especially loved the girl at 1:34...made me cry instantly. Sometimes the most subtle phrases are the most uplifting.
Surprised a few months ago I would have cried at this but coming out completely changed that really pleased with myself weird feeling to get over a video :)
I came out to my mom at work after a hard day. She was my boss as well. She was taken aback for a bit, but then just said, "oh, just get back to work..." ... From that point on, she never spoke of it again, but she would try to arrange dates for me -- WITH OTHER MEN! She was wickedly cool and I miss her terribly after having passed away some years ago. She was my hero and I thank God that that particular woman was my mom...
Just a word of advise. If you fancie someone of the same sex. Please don't just presume that they are gay also and end up forcibly kissing them. No matter how much you like them, or how convinced you are, just confirm first. Very bad way to come out. :P
Wow I just paused the video cuz I was starting to cry lol Wish things were easier... when I "tried" to tell my mom she just freaked told me she did not accepted that and made me go to a shrink :( I told my bestfriend and she helped me a lot but she had to move, now with my new "friends".... i don't know... whenever I touch the theme everyone is always so...negative like thats just wrong and I would never talk with someone like that... But my biggest problem is that I don't really love myself...
This video has helped me so much, I'm thinking of coming out to my mum who I know will be cool, overall I think I need to come to terms with it myself, the crap you get from todays youth is what I think holding me back and causing me to question my sexuality.
Even though I'm already out, watching this reminded me that it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. I actually started tearing up while watching this.
This has inspired me so much...I have already come out to a few of my friends but now this video has given me the confidence to come out even more...the hard part is going to be to cone out to my homophobic best friend whom I see as a brother...
I'm working up the courage to come out as bisexual to my parents at Christmas... my friends already know, I already have a special girl in my life, but this is a much harder step to take... wish me luck!
The one person I told I found out I couldn't trust. News spreads like a freaking virus in my school and now there are all sorts of jokes goin around about me -_-"
@InToTheBlue71 Oh wow. Nice job, spreading lies. Cause thats what you're doing. Straight people have just as much of a chance to die of aids than gay people.
OMG I just came out to the first person. Im so nervous, but I feel so happy that she accepted me. Thankyou so much to everyone in this video for helping it happen. I can finaly be myself :)
@Bobby987121 7 months late, but congratulations! :) I came out to my first person about 8 months ago and now I've come so far (except for my family and ex-girlfriend haha)
Yeah, the advice about the vehicle was the best piece to laugh at :D But seriously: Just as allaragallagher said, you are all great people :) If there was more people like you all (you too, allaragallagher), the world would be better :)
Coming out is very personal, and also very scary. Many, many people have taken those scary steps. You are not alone, ever. You will probably be more surprised at how well your family and close friends take the news, than at their surprise of the news. If someone states that they no longer love you, than they never really did. They only loved the image they had in their mind about who you were, and did not love the real you. The first person you tell is often the hardest, but you are never alone.
...guys who say they are bi are just kidding themselves lol. and btw you guys in this video, are you really gay, if so then how come you arnt wearing rainbow colored t-shirts while covered in feathers?
Don't waste the best years of your life trying to be someone you're not. I waited until I was 40 to finally admit who I was, and by that time, there were so many more people involved who's lives were impacted. I wish I'd known about being gay when I was young, but growing up in the 60's and in rural America, didn't know that was an option. Just do it! You'll feel so much better.
I told my mother I'm gay and it was one of the worst things I've ever done! I did it like 7 years ago, things are better now but I should have waited more!
I am not complaining...I'm just saying it's not a faery-tale to everyone!
why is everyone so solemn? I was all cheery, coming out is a good thing! :) whether all accept it or not is the scary part, but regardless really think you will feel better after.
When I came out it felt like something was physically lifted from my chest that I didn't know was there. I felt so free! It was liberating and now I feel free.
Name of the song?!?!?!? Omg.

Dont give up (:

my uncle's partner was kicked out of his home after coming out, and i think it's really important to have support when you're in a situation like that.

She was my hero and I thank God that that particular woman was my mom...
bbbbmer 1 year ago
Just a word of advise. If you fancie someone of the same sex. Please don't just presume that they are gay also and end up forcibly kissing them. No matter how much you like them, or how convinced you are, just confirm first. Very bad way to come out. :P
Opaloxide 1 year ago

Thanks again for the video! It's really helped!

My Advise.
It may be hard at the time ...
But, it gets better :)

I told my mother I'm gay and it was one of the worst things I've ever done! I did it like 7 years ago, things are better now but I should have waited more!
I am not complaining...I'm just saying it's not a faery-tale to everyone!
Good lucky to those who think about doing it!!
