  • Great frame rate, so smooth. Hope to get that with my iMac. Hate it when motion is jerky with low fps.

  • dang it runs well on the OLDER model too! cant wait to see how it does with my 2011 MBP 13 inch :D

  • @ashermamen234 note MICROSOFT flight simulator X, Microsoft HATES apple and thus to answer your question without research, not at all. Bootcamp, Parallels Desktop, or VMWare is needed in this case, sorry to inform; but with any of those programs there really is no performance lost if they would make it for OSX

  • hey joysticks work with the mac?

  • @levygonz most do, they usually have a set a side driver for OSX; however if you run across one that doesn't have the "Mac Compatible" logo, research it, chances are it IS compatible or doesn't need a driver at all (usually real basic joysticks don't need drivers)

  • @sullivanbob200745 mine works, nice, it needs drivers because mine isnt from pac man age lol

  • Lol ! Great

  • WIN & MAC= SHIT!

  • fucking mental on an old macbook pro to!

  • how can we install fsx on a mac ?

  • Old Macbook pro!

  • i try to install fsx on mac but it dont will install it

  • @fsofnorway Have you installed bootcamp, you need to install windows first then install it on the windows partition of your hard drive

  • @MrLarky96 HI IT WORKS THX MAN

  • @fsofnorway you must use bootcamp and install windows in it to install and run microsoft flight simulator x on your mac

  • Hi i am now having the same problem on my brand new imac. Video card something. Just wondering if u solved the problem? i would really appreciate u replying

  • wait i have the latest macbook pro with the nvidia 9600m GT and it's like totally slow on ultra high settings helppppp i'm running windows 7 i don't have windows xp

  • Dont run it on ultra high settings, try to reduce some of the settings for better performance, balance it out more...i have a 13 inch macbook pro with the nvidia 9400m and i have settings balanced out and it runs at about 40fps.

  • i know but the one in the video is like a lot older than mine and it's running a lot faster on top quality settings that doesn't make sense lol

  • Did you install Sp1/sp2 for FSX?

  • same as me

  • it could be that the latest mbp's have integrated graphics not discreet? what are the specs?

  • i am having the same issure. I'm currently looking at driver updates and windows updates to try and solve the problem

  • i have Aus p5q3 motherboard 1600 FSB

    intel core 2 duo e 8500 3.2 GHZ

    gainward gtx 275 Gddr 3

    Ram 4 GB DDR 3 1333 mhz

    OS Windows 7 64 bit

    FSX + Accel.

i get 60 150 fps on very high settings. Everithing is max exept autogen

  • Those are good numbers. Was this with complex add-ons like REX and Aerosoft airports? Where were you in the FSX world when you recorded these numbers? Complex aircraft like PMDG or CaptainSim reduce fps. Do these numbers include complex aircraft and complex scenery?

  • i get 60 150 fps on fsx, and i know that on advanced pc s 200 300 fps is possible

  • Get a Macbook Pro 15" has great FSX performance for me.

  • my pc can barely play fsx, the settings are so low, that fs9 looks a lot better

  • APPLE ROCKS!

    35 FPS? AMAZING...

  • umm duh!!!

  • this will work on an iMac too right? dumb question but im not brilliant with computers

  • thats why u have a mac :)

  • haha yeah it is

  • you cant be serious. FSX right? 200-300 frames is impossible. no matter what you say. post some proof or nobody will be willing to beleive you

  • Whoops sorry man that was an error I was getting 100-200 and actually no it isnt impossible and I cant post some proof sorry yea I know no one will belive m e but its because i had to rebuild my pc and something got messed up and on that msg that was kinda rude srry lol.

  • And also I used to be able to get 40 frames with ultra high setting in the aerosoft F-16.

  • And wat song is that?

  • The graphics must be great with that on a MacBook...

  • What is the soundtrack of this video it sounds really cool.

  • 1:32 ....... o shit, then it crashed, lol that would b funny if it did tho, too bad it didnt, nice vide

  • boot camp is where you can run windows on your mac and it is for free atleast boot camp is and then you can run both windows and mac os on a mac

  • wow....NOT!!

  • Jealous prick.

  • do you think i could this on maxed out settings on the new macbook pro? with the 2 gpu?

  • he uses a program called bootcamp...its installed in every single macbooks and macbook pros...there are plenty of videos on youtube that teaches you how to use bootcamp to install windows xp...ive seen a few videos and its not very difficult to do...all you need is an xp cd and an empty dvd disc

  • i know but my macbook pro 2005 dont have bootcamp

  • You should be able to download it. I believe its standard with OSX Leopard

  • Hey, nice video!

I have even better Specs on my new iMac, but I don't get those graphics on fsx...but anyway: macintosh4ever!

  • does anyone think that i could run flight simulator x at ultra high settings on the new aluminum macbook pro??? or even the aluminum macbook???? PLEASE RESPOND!!!

  • im getting great fps on my aluminum macbook

  • hey dude i have a macbook too!!!

  • I am going to run it on my old Macbook with integrated graphics, I will post a vid showing it if it works.

    Specs:

    4 Gb RAM

    2.3 MHz processor

    360 Gb Hard drive

    OS: Vista Professoinal Edition

  • is this macbook pro using an integrated or discrete graphics card???

  • the macbook pro uses a discrete graphics card. the macbooks use an integrated one

  • and, does kamikaze have sp1 installed?

  • I have the new macbook 2.4 ghz and i get 48 fps on same settings

  • the new aluminum macbook? running FSX?

  • it says crosair in the description what does that mean?

  • It's a brand.

  • The MBP just puts the highest performance hardware available in the machine...I have one I know and it's just crazy fast.

  • killer macbook

  • I have the exact same laptop. Macs rule.

  • I've just installed FSX on my new MacBook 2'4Ghz with Leopard, & a 30GB partition by Boot Camp 2.0 and with Windows XP SP2 AND IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAHHH!!!!

  • i have fsx and i have 2.0 Ghz on my macbook, but it wont open fsx. i downloaded fsx off the Cd but it still wont work, PLs Help!

  • You need a computer with dedicated graphics, the regular macbooks have integrated graphics and probably won't run that game

  • what is 4X AA and 8X AF?

i have better graphics and i hit 7fps on ultra high! how do u get 38?!

  • Anti aliasing and antiscopic filtering

  • what settings are you running at?

  • umm hello... the specs are right there on the description to the right....

  • He's asking for the game settings not the specs...

  • it says ultra high settings and he shows them in the beginning of the video mate...

  • what exactly are your specs? i cant read them in that tiny writing on the vid. :)

  • Dude, I've been wondering if is possible if you can actually recreate a more focus FSX video. I just want to know whether a 15" Macbook Pro is capable of running FSX on it's highest settings smoothly? Thank You.

  • this is absolutely amazing... kamikaze.... yo uhave shown me what it means to be a mac user again.... you have proven to the world, with your videos, that windows games can be played on macs with very goof framerates at high settings.... i need to buy FSX!!!! i'm sick of online flying in x-plane.... oh by the way... do you fly multiplayer on FSX? just curious....

  • yeah online play in FSX is totally amazing... if your in a good server that is :D real life ATC

  • I know this comment doesn't go with this video, but do more FPS make the gaming experience more smoother?

  • yep exactly. FPS stands for frames per second. so the more FPS your computer can achieve literally means a smoother experience

  • I know what FPS stands for.

  • would it work on a normal macbook

  • if it has bootcamp or intel core 2 duo with pc side installed in.

  • No, it would be lagged to hell on a normal macbook.

  • no its not, it runs fine on my white 2.2Ghz, 2GB RAM, X3100 graphics. No lag at all.

  • probably not...integrated graphics not for gaming really

  • how well will htis game run a 965?(X3100) laptop? My other specs match your(HDD is bigger) but the card is only 358mb and its integrated.

  • is that the normal fsx water or did u use an add on for that water

  • how much did that cost?

  • will fsx work that good on (dell studio 17)

  • When I run the game on ultra high settings the game crashes...has that happened for you guys?

  • I have the same mac book pro as him and I play on Dx10 everything ultra except weather and traffic; I also put water on high. And I get 28fps average and never has crashed and never drops bellow 20 even in a city like New York. So maybe your computer is not strong enough do you have a older mac book pro or another computer?

  • I bought have a 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo with 2 gb 667mhz ddr2 sd ram

  • One I saw now clouds

Two I didnt not see boats and airport traffic

Three you show res and only at 1440X900 try 1900X1200

Four you didnt shoe FSX setting but claim ultra high.

  • Whats a good mac compatiable joystick (i have saitek av8r) but its not mac compatiable

  • what kind of labtop is that because im supost to get a lab top 4 my b-day so i can tell mi mom cuz i got da game j got to wait till mi b-day canty wait to play it

  • damn, i can't wait for my MBP this summer... should have it by June 30th when i have enough cash lol and FSX. I haven't played FS in a LONG time, almost 2 years ... i had FS04 n stopped because it burned my computer out. But what joystick are you using ? I had a Logitec Wingman but i'm thinking about a Saitek EVo FF i think it's called.

  • how long does the macbook pro battery last?

  • 5 hours

  • What did you set the graphics, traffic, aircraft, etc. to?

  • I'm not sure if you'd know but how well do you think a imac would cope with the same specs. Bootcamped and microsoft flight sim x.

  • i have a macbookpro and vista and fsx says it cant read the video card driver...WTF????!!!!! Im so P'd off!!!

  • I WANT TO PLAY WITH FSX IN MY FUTURE MACBOOK PRO..but i want to install xp

  • is xp better than vista for this?

  • Yes WAY better

  • Vista (DX10) But the FPS drops, so it a personal preference.

  • Whats with the music? it sounds like someones about to die

  • Wow you made me laugh by saying that it sounds like someones going to die!

  • what are your settings in FSX?

  • Damn..for putting that on a Mac..ain't half bad at all..didn't think the graphics would turn out that great..looks like i was wrong...For a 256MB cards that ain't that bad...and it didn't freeze at all either...and again..XP and FSX..ALL ON A MAC!

  • hey what does the last thing in the description mean. and where do you get it?

Windows XP Pro SP2 (20Gb) via Bootcamp 1.3

  • Hey the best laptop who runs Vista is the MacBook Pro and we pay for have the chance to have a mac.

  • it is ture

  • its up to you, if you wnna spend £200 more so you can run the most buggy peice of shite out there, then goe do it :)

  • cool and i highly could read the specs from the video

  • omg, how do you see your fps??

  • use fraps.

  • dude how are you doing all these games are you using Steam on crossover? you should make some how to get these games running videos

  • What drivers we're you using?

  • omg how many games do you have

  • My friend can get around 20 fps at those settings with a GeForce 7300LE.

  • What is the music that you used?

  • Yeah, whats the music you used?

  • If you builders out there want performance... Go for 8800. Its more expensive, but it will fill out the gaps with the speechless minds of yours as you run FSX with DX10.

  • your fist video?

  • Hey I plan on getting a mac pro the specs are

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz, 15" TFT, 2GB DDR2, 120GB SATA, Nvidia GeForce 8600 128MB, 8x SuperDrive, will it run as good as yours?

  • allmost but you'll need the 256MB verson of the 8600GT to make it run just as good.

  • excellent video man! Do you think the game will run similar on my computer that im getting in a few days - C2D 2.2ghx 4gb 667ram 8600 GT 256mb?

hope so!! also do you know if your graphics card is ddr3 or ddr2 ram?

one last think whats the name of the song in this video??

thanks for an excellent video man!

  • I am actually planning on being the same set up as you stated, did you get any information weather Flight Sim X will still work as smooth as shown in the video?

    If so post asap

  • yeah it runs fine on that same setup as above about 19.6 fps is the lowests ive gotten on ultra high settings.

  • Lol you aren´t playing at ultra-high, try to move autogen to max, then you will see what´s i call slow =P

but great, i love Fs, and a great vid too, cya.

  • yeah, auto gen kills fps, i leave mine on sparse, that way i get close to 25fps. ( Note, from my videos, i'm using a 55series. I just up'd it to 8600GT. will post the new videos soon

  • I think your showing off your note book.

    :(

  • Thats the whole point :D. To show that Macs can game too.

  • Thats the whole point :D. To show that Macs can game too.

    Yer...

When you have Windows installed, otherwise there is no way mac could game.

  • Yer...

Macs will never game as well as Windows.

The machine can handle it thanks to windows but no thanks to mac.

  • sry double commented :D

  • dudes.. i wanna buy a macbook pro.. also i own a xbox360. so i play most of my games on tat....

i need some gaming over my laptop.. if i install boot camp and run Windows XP Pro SP2 on my MacBook Pro.. will i be able to run all the games out there on windows???? i mean all the games and all the software tat are compatible with windows???

do MacBook Pro and OS X support OpenGL and DirectX????

  • yup

  • i have MBP 2.4 with 256and 2gb and this game runs happily with everything maxed using bootcamp.

  • video's great - WHATS THE SOUNDTRACK?!

  • Im thinking of buying a a new 15" macbook pro with 4gb ram. Will FSX run well on it via bootcamp with clouds/realism enabled or will it still be slowish?

  • Just so you know gaming is better on a mac. Surprising but true. Some games aren't available for the mac because they are made by microsoft otherwise games work great on a mac. Especially Wow!

  • AWESOME VIDEO AND AWESOME GRAPHICS!!!!!!!!! Here are my specs:

    Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 661 w/ HT Technology, 3.6GHz

    Memory: 2GB DDR2-533MHz dual channel SDRAM (2x1024)

    Graphics card: 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8300GS, DVI-I, TV-out, VGA

Hard Drive: 160GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive

Will I be able to run fs9 pretty well with this?

  • You might want to upgrade that video card to atleast a 8600. Right now, it will play excellent, but once you start enabling the clouds (which plays a major realism factor), your system will start lagging. Other than that, thats a great system for FS9.

  • No probs ;). I'll be uploading a few more games once I intall them. :)

  • =D NICE!!!!!!

I hope that you continue uploading videos

    Thanx a lot

    =D

  • And the fans noises???

I'm asking you this, because a lot of people have this problem in youtube, and I really want to purchase a MBP really soon =).

Thanx a lot for the answer!

    =D

  • I personally can't even hear the fans....on normal use....even when I'm gaming...and the fans are at 3500rpm....unless your room as dead silent with absolutely NO noise whatsoever...you wont be able to hear the fans. Under full RPM, you still wont be able to hear the fans under ambient noise...again, only when your in a dead quient environment...and if you concentrate hard...will you be able to hear them. They are quiet as a mouse! :D

  • The issues you are hearing about the whirring fan noise issue, was the result from the 1st gen Macbook Pro's...ie..the ones that were from yearly 2006. Ever since the 2nd rev MBP (mine, which is the latest, is the 3rd rev), the fan issue has been fixed by Apple. The MBP's now are super quiet.

  • Oh, and incase you do want to know what they sound like...it's like slight pulsating bass noise. It actually sounds pretty cool...when you can actually hear them.

  • Hi Kamikaze.

How is the temperature of the MBP when you are playing? too much hot?

    Greetings and enyou your MBP

    =D

  • Hi there :)

It definitely gets warm when gaming. In-fact booting into Windows itself makes your MBP much more warmer than if you were in OS X (where the surface actually feels really cool). However, just above the left palm rest (where the hard drive is) becomes warm..but definitely not unbearable. However, the left side grill, become almost hot. Not enough to cause burn...but it feels like a frying pan 40sec after being put on if you were to be playing for more than 6-8+ hrs straight.
