@ashermamen234 note MICROSOFT flight simulator X, Microsoft HATES apple and thus to answer your question without research, not at all. Bootcamp, Parallels Desktop, or VMWare is needed in this case, sorry to inform; but with any of those programs there really is no performance lost if they would make it for OSX
@levygonz most do, they usually have a set a side driver for OSX; however if you run across one that doesn't have the "Mac Compatible" logo, research it, chances are it IS compatible or doesn't need a driver at all (usually real basic joysticks don't need drivers)
Heyy I have roughly the same specs but have 2.6 processor and 500gb hard drive 5400rpm how much should i partition my hard drive if i want to play a couple of games on including FSX?

do MacBook Pro and OS X support OpenGL and DirectX????
Im thinking of buying a a new 15" macbook pro with 4gb ram. Will FSX run well on it via bootcamp with clouds/realism enabled or will it still be slowish?
Just so you know gaming is better on a mac. Surprising but true. Some games aren't available for the mac because they are made by microsoft otherwise games work great on a mac. Especially Wow!
You might want to upgrade that video card to atleast a 8600. Right now, it will play excellent, but once you start enabling the clouds (which plays a major realism factor), your system will start lagging. Other than that, thats a great system for FS9.
I personally can't even hear the fans....on normal use....even when I'm gaming...and the fans are at 3500rpm....unless your room as dead silent with absolutely NO noise whatsoever...you wont be able to hear the fans. Under full RPM, you still wont be able to hear the fans under ambient noise...again, only when your in a dead quient environment...and if you concentrate hard...will you be able to hear them. They are quiet as a mouse! :D
The issues you are hearing about the whirring fan noise issue, was the result from the 1st gen Macbook Pro's...ie..the ones that were from yearly 2006. Ever since the 2nd rev MBP (mine, which is the latest, is the 3rd rev), the fan issue has been fixed by Apple. The MBP's now are super quiet.
Oh, and incase you do want to know what they sound like...it's like slight pulsating bass noise. It actually sounds pretty cool...when you can actually hear them.
It definitely gets warm when gaming. In-fact booting into Windows itself makes your MBP much more warmer than if you were in OS X (where the surface actually feels really cool). However, just above the left palm rest (where the hard drive is) becomes warm..but definitely not unbearable. However, the left side grill, become almost hot. Not enough to cause burn...but it feels like a frying pan 40sec after being put on if you were to be playing for more than 6-8+ hrs straight.
Great frame rate, so smooth. Hope to get that with my iMac. Hate it when motion is jerky with low fps.

AWESOME VIDEO AND AWESOME GRAPHICS!!!!!!!!! Here are my specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 661 w/ HT Technology, 3.6GHz
Memory: 2GB DDR2-533MHz dual channel SDRAM (2x1024)
Graphics card: 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8300GS, DVI-I, TV-out, VGA
Hard Drive: 160GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive
Will I be able to run fs9 pretty well with this?

Hi there :)
