@5piderz I disagree. You've just been fortunate enough to not have anything hit back at you with any kind of exit velocity. My 15 year old son had a ball hit back to him so quick, his drive leg was still in the air when it hit him in the jaw. He threw about 75mph and the swing that was put on it and the bat used got the exit velocity up over 95mph. This is why the BBCOR bats are being mandated next year at the high school level.

@kushmaster71 Aparently so... The high school has gone to BBCOR bats for the 2012 season, and American legion is going to all wood in 2012. But for this season, only composite barrel bats were banned. Anything BESR rated was approved for 2011. Another kid (12 year old) got hit this past weekend in the face and his cheek bone and orbital bone were shattered.

I am a pitcher and this is my biggest fear just like OneMustyDog said. I've gotten hit in the right thumb, thigh, nuts, shoulder, but never to the face. I've had 3 close calls. 2 I caught one bounced out of my glove and I made a double play. oh and i've been hit in waist and stomach.
