  • WONDERFUL catch indeed!!!

  • That's awesome, man!

  • wouldnt it have made more sense to just lease an engine from Amtrak and pull the train itself?

  • were the cars coming from the northern arrow excursion?

  • @sethamtrak yes

  • @sethamtrak that was a great trip on the TSBY to and from Petosky we had a great time on that one I never figured I would be in a youtube video untill I saw this that day I miss that last car on this train I rode may miles on it before it got sold it now resides as a Buisness car on a shortline in Canada back where it began life as a CN car

  • Damn!

  • I've never seen that many pv's on a single train in my life.

  • @AmtrakSurfliner768 check out an AAPRCO(American Association of Private Railcar owners) train we have had up to 30 or more cars on a convention train

  • A lot of private cars.

  • Wow! Those were very mismatched cars. Some are Amtrak, Northern Pacific, Southern Pacific, and even CN!

    That's rare!

    Great video!

  • it was a special move we were doing to Petosky Michigan I was standing on the rear porch of that CN Buisness in the video here the car is called the Metis

  • sorry I posted that comment twice about the railcar on another spot here

  • LOL I was standing on the back of that last private car when it went by the name is the Metis

  • You don't see that everyday

  • Great video 5*****

  • Awesome! The horn sounds awesome too!!! 5*****

  • I agree, great video!

  • This is flaming hard core to the bone! I have seen some of those private cars on Amtrak's Coast Starlight and California Zephyr over the years! 5 stars! I road on Amtrak 365 from Dowagiac, Michigan to Chicago, Illinois back in the year 2004.

  • LOL... It Looks Like A Circus Train! =)

  • Wow, what a very odd consist!

  • wow love the mid train helper unit

  • that was not a midtrain helper unit that is a push pull train so they do not have to turn it at the end of the run.and the twelve private cars on the train were headed to Petosky Michigan I was the photographer on the rear car....

  • Those private cars are sometimes used for the Southern Pacific #4449's consist. When I saw the 4449, which was still in the Freedom Train scheme, it was hauling those same cars.

  • strange consist, lucky catch!

  • awesome! was theresopmeone filimng in the last car?

do you respnd to anyones comment posts?

    great video

    126 sounds great K5LA!

  • that was me on the back of the last car in that consist we were headed to Patosy Michigan

  • yes I was photographing when we went through there to answer your question.. I travil all over the US and Canada doing train photography mostly by private cars such as that..that car I was on is a Canadian National Buisness car named the Metis

  • cool video caught them in Durand Mi.

  • did you catch us going up that night or comeing back? I was on that train on the last car in the consist

  • yes i saw it when it arrived in Durand when it was on 364 and i saw it leave on 365 a few days later..

  • thats really neat Durand looks like a great place to railfan I hope to stop there someday I am glad to see that grand ol station still standing after all these years and the TSBry was a great host to us on that event and Petosky was pretty as was the Michigan countryside...I really enjoyed those old Ann Arber GP35s still with the old alco trucks pulling us and a very pretty old paint scheme to boot...

  • im glade you enjoyed it i think there are a couple more this year but not 100% sure. the old AA engines are great to hear on a large train heading out of Owosso on a summers night when they start to throttle UP..

  • I assume they would be I bet it is an awsome sound hearing those old workhorses doing what they were made to do.. I know they sure sounded good pulling our train

  • Nice catch!
